    It drives me NUTS how people blow their nose, scratch their heads (maybe other things), have their hands full of who knows what from subway poles and door knobs AND THEN go take the body of Christ with those same hands. Very few people clean their hands prior. I am glad a priest has no right to deny communion on the tongue. Shall this occur, reach out to your Bishop.

      I have seen someone rub their hands together like they were trying to get rid of crumbs out their hands, after they had put the body of Christ in their mouth.
      The lack of reverence is shocking.
      The Priest has to wash his hands before he can touch the body of Christ. So it makes no sense that people receiving the body of Christ can do so with dirty hands.

      Hi, I will tell you some places where you could recieve communion on tounge. But you would have to do it while you are standing. You can knell at your pew before going. Go to Holy Spirit catholic church in hemet ca at the 11:00 that would be in there parish hall for right now because they are doing a little construction because they were able to raise enough money to rebuild the church a little bit.. There is one more church that you could go to. Which would be at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church in San Jacinto Ca at any of there masses. But if you were to go to go to a eucharistic minister or a preist that had a disease they will not be able to have you go up to them and have you recieve holy communion on the tounge while you are standing that is just because they do not want to get more sick or even accidentally get you sick. So just be aware of that. I will always recieve communion on the tounge at almost every mass that I go to and if they will let me recieve holy communion on the tounge while standing that is what I would do every time when they allow that.

    I am Orthodox and the communion by hand is a outright blasphemy and heresy. We partake in the communion with the blood and body of Christ given by the priest with a golden or silver spoon directly carefully administer not to fall down from the chalice; It is the most sacred Miracle that the Christian receive. And here one cannot take the communion unless we first Fasts for days or at least 3 day or 1 week, pray and then go to confession. At the confession the Priest reads on the book of prayer that calls us to confess the sins to Christ our Doctor on our knees we listen to him and when he calls our name we say it slowly as he reads through the prayer book. The prayer is called Molifta and after the confession can begin. After the Confession you may receive the blood and body of Christ when the Priest calls us during the Divine Liturgy : With the fear of God, with Faith and Love

    We have intinction at our Ordinariate parish, and the pastor only allows reception on the tongue. He also only allows standing to receive if you have great difficulty kneeling. (The only ones I've seen stand for Communion are those over 85 or those who have had knee/limb surgery. EVERYONE else kneels, even if it takes them a little while to get down or back up again with assistance.

But I can recieve holy communion on the tounge while standing that is at almost every single mass that I go to. The only time that they would deney that would just be if one of the eucharistic ministers, or priests, or even maybe deacons, would just be if they have some sort of disease or health issuses, the reason why that they would do that at that time, would just be so that they do not get anymore sick as they already are or even because they would not want you to get sick at all either.

    Reason why I say never receive communion on the hand is because they're a small particles that get on your hands and you don't want to drop those on the floor.
    Also I believe churches should have like a kneeling area to receive The body of Christ and then receive the blood of Christ.
    Also have one of those trays that collect particles of the body of Christ
    I don't think nobody should ever receive it on the hand at all for this reason thoughts?

    • @arrontaylortalks
      @arrontaylortalks  3 місяці тому +2

      The thumbnail to this video illustrates the issue of the particles of the body of our Lord being dropped and walked all over.
      After Vatican 2 some Churches removed their Altar Rails. With the call for more reverence, some of those Churches are providing kneelers for those that wish to receive Communion, kneeling and on the tongue.
      The 'Paten' or 'Communion-Plate' should always be used during Commuion so that no particles of the body of Christ shall be lost.
      Receiving in the hand not only increases the risk of particles of the body of Christ being lost, it creates opportunities for those with ill intent towards the body of Christ, to not consume and then leave the Church with the Eucharist intact to commit acts of sacrilege.
      In the early years of the Church, Communion in the hand was practiced. This was later changed to receiving Commuion, kneeling and on the tongue as to protect the body of Christ and to promote more reverence.

    When Communion in the hand was permitted, reverence was already gone. Most people do not do it in the prescribed way. Some people do not "receive" the Host. There are NO circumstances for denying communion on the tongue.
      This is what happens when a Pope rewards irreverent, disobedient behaviour. No ground should have been given, the disobedient Bishop's should have been punished for such behaviour. Instead they were rewarded and given an 'Indult' to allow them to continue to distribute communion in the hand. And now communion in the hand is seen as the norm. Just to compound the issue, the introduction of Eucharistic ministers has furthered the irreverence.
      We have seen all kinds of sacrilegious Mass, from clown, skateboard, dj's, etc. The freedom that Priest have been given in the new form of Mass has enabled this. Speaking up about these issues gets you labelled "Trad" like it's meant to be a bad thing.
      All we can do is to keep raising awareness, we can write to our Bishops, then HOPE they do something positive about it. We have to PRAY that reverance becomes the norm again.
      This is a leadership issue, everything we are seeing is the result of poor leadership.

    For a short time, the early church liturgy was Greek, communion was received on the hand and priest/prebyters were allowed to marry if they chose too.
    At our church, people receive the Holy Eucharist, the body of Christ on the tongue if they choose too, or on the hand if they choose too. The tongue is no holier than the hand and vice versa.
    Romans chapter 14 13-23, though I know that Paul is talking about general food in these verses, Paul said throught the Holy Spirit, that one should not be a stumbling block for his brother as stated in verse 13, seems to apply here. In fact the first 12 verses of chapter 14 applies as well. Again, I know Paul is talking about food in general, but it seems to apply here in the liturgy of the church.
    When I die and face my maker, Jesus Christ, I don't think that He will be asking me about my opinion, about receiving the Holy Eucharist on the hand or the Holy Eucharist on the tongue. God bless.

    Both the bleeding woman and the harlot were ritually unclean but dared to touch the Lord, and through their faith were healed. The Lord degraded Himself to assume our fallen flesh to illumine and save us. Now in His resurrected glorious flesh He assumes bread and wine to illumine and save us from within. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you cleanse the outside of the cup and of the plate, but inside they are full of extortion and rapacity. You blind Pharisee! first cleanse the inside of the cup and of the plate, that the outside also may be clean. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. - Matthew 23:25-27. I in no way think Priests should be denying communion on the tongue or while kneeling, nor that communion in the hand is the best way to celebrate but many of us need to examen ourselves and see if we are hardening our hearts and denying the awesome incomprehensible nature of our God. It is incomprehensible that the King of all gestated in a Virgins womb. It is folly to our worldly minds that Life itself suffered death so that all might truly live. We must consider these things and see Christ in the mundane, for it was in the Incarnation’s mundane nature that many missed the King of Kings in their presence.

    Stop with this elitist nonsense. Have you even read the bible? Jesus clearly GAVE the bread to the disciples and then told them to eat it. It doesn't say He fed it to them, doesn't say He put it in their mouth.
    Matthew 26:26 While they were eating, Jesus took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”
    Mark 14:22 While they were eating, he took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to them, and said, “Take; this is my body.”
    Luke 22:19 Then he took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
    How do we know it was handed to them based on that? OH because He then says the EXACT SAME THING when HANDING them the cup.
    Matthew26:27 Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you;
    Mark 14: 23 Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he gave it to them, and all of them drank from it.
    Luke 22:17 Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he said, “Take this and divide it among yourselves (He literally tells them to divide the cup themselves and NOT given to each by Him)
