  • From the same makers of the Benelli M4 shotgun, comes the Benelli Lupo bolt action rifle available in 243win 6.5 creemoor 270win 308win 30-06 and 300win mag. The rifle impressed me as it was very comfortable to shoot and easily able to put 3-shots sub-moa @ 100 yards! The rifle has a lot of features and I couldn't fault it as it performed well.

    I carry this in the Alaskan wilderness and it performs phenomenally. Fires true in extremely cold temps and the 300win mag cuts through the elements like a hot knife through butter. It's lightweight yet has excellent energy dispersion through the buttstock. I consider it the best back country rifle on the market.

    Another great, unbiased review from Ozzie. I am from North Louisiana in the United States and I love your reviews. Thanks so much for reviewing this rifle. I am considering a Benelli Lupo in 6.5 PRC and I think it would be awesome for Whitetails in Northwest Louisiana. I currently have a SAKO S20 Hunter in 6.5 PRC (which I also love); however I am thinking about adding the Benelli Lupo to my collection. Thanks again for your “real world” review.

    G'day mate! I recently acquired a Lupo BEST rifle in .308 Win; identical to the model reviewed here, though mine has the open country camo pattern on the stock. I concur with everything said in this review. It's superb in every regard. My rifle's accuracy is consistently 3/4 MOA with factory ammo (Federal GM 168grain Match), and that's just shooting prone, off my backpack. I have yet to try out my handloads in this rifle, using 165 grain Sierra Gameking SBT bullets, but I'm anticipating similar accuracy. That is simply an excellent rifle and considering I will be hunting mule deer, or red deer etc with this rifle, 3/4 MOA is more than sufficient for my purposes, when I'm aiming at a 10" plus kill zone!

    The bolt is like a Remington 600. Recoil reducers are ok. Its the same thing when they tried them on shotguns years ago. The gun gets close to your face faster!! Good eye relief is necessary!!! 300 win is gonna give someone an eye opener!!!

    • @waldgeist3234
      @waldgeist3234 2 роки тому +3

      That's definitely not true. I own a Benelli Lupo in .300 Win Mag and I never had a problem with eye relief. The recoil reducing system (they call it "Progressive Comfort System") doesn't move in that far. The movement is less than 1 inch, so you are completely fine with the usual eye relief of ~3 inches.
      I shot ~300 rounds with this rifle so far and even after a long session of 50 rounds within 2 hours I still felt comfortable.

    Anyone have issues with the angle of the trigger guard? The writer from Field and Stream had issues when shooting level, as the trigger guard nudges your finger high on the trigger. When he shot on an up angle his accuracy was outstanding, but much less so on shorter ranges on a bench. Looking for more opinions on this issue.

    would be in the top three from which to choose.

    One thing I've noticed, often in the 3 shot groups, the "first" shot is a bit of a flyer, and the next two almost on top of each other. Is it maybe worth putting a fouling shout with the next ammo through first, before the 3 shot group?

    • @SpeKterDesigns
      @SpeKterDesigns 2 роки тому

      Ive always shot 5's when load development being a row of ammo in a container and say that would give him an even 4 loads per box, each round is $1,50 to $2.00 maybe average in 308 these days so there is a slight cost difference Im sure people who havent yet signed up to be Ozzie's patreon would do so to see him shoot groups of 5. So how bout it guys, sign up to get groups of 5? Sign up and use the hash tag #groupsof5

    Every time I see magazines on bolt actions, im impressed how good the mags for the sauer 100/101 and mauser m18 is. Double stack, can load from the top and almost indestructable. Then comes benelli, ruger etc with fancy complicated magazines..
    Is it so hard? I really hate the single stack mags that tikka and many other uses. And i HATE AICS mags, they are often crappy to reload and are boxy and low capacity for the size.

    Great review and outstanding shooting. I looked very close at this rifle and nearly bought one but ended up passing on it. I did not like the molded in slinkier studs and the finish. In the USA, this rifle is about $1500. For that price, I would like traditional sling studs and a cerakote finish. Currently I prefer the Tikka t3x lite Veil Wideland over the Lupo. But given how the gun shoots, I maybe this is a good choice nonetheless.
