Looks good, even has the cream jack plate instead of metal. I’ve bought 6 guitars/basses from AliExpress so far. Love the all. Rick 12 string, 2 les Paul’s, a Signature PRS, a 4003 Rickenbacker Bass. A 12/6 string double neck. All I did on all of them was put new strings on and BAM a great playing guitar/Bass.
There is no 'Chibson' to buy 🤣. It's a slang name for fake, counterfeit Gibsons. None of them say Chibson on the headstock. They say Gibson. You seriously believe theres a company called Chibson that makes these? 🤣🤣🤣 Hahano
mont john or maybe...just out of the border...made in Mexico at the same conditions thanks to the greediness of American corporates and globalization...
Mauro No they're definitely made in China. Knock off country of the World. I wonder what would happen if a company in the U.S.A. knocked off a Gibson guitar and put the Gibson logo on the headstock. They'd get sued that's what would happen. but yet China Knocks off EVERYTHING and Idiots buy their SHIT. People buying that crap should have their crap confiscated at customs. Then you'll have no choice to pay for the real thing, or buy a knock off with a different name on the headstock.
elliott nunez just for the sake of the discussion...without polemic and no disrespect to you or anyone else.... Would be interesting to know that Gibson has a production plant in china, Qing dao city in shandong region... They make les Paul and 335 as well....and epiphone too. I was married with a girl in that city and I came to know about this when just moved out....so irritating. Now....where do you think these guitRs will be sold?...and will be sold at less cost because they are Chinese production? I very much agree with you that branding anything not from factory it's a clone/fake ..and thus should be punished by law...and again China is not fighting this problem at all...just pretending to do so... But the core of the matter (I hope I'm expressing myself in proper English..) is about the quality of the instruments... Now...take as example fender first.....original necks are made in Asia (ive seen the factories ..) and in USA you can by excellent replacements from mighty mite...still made in Asia... Is fender a master of luthierie?....hardly think so...a plank of wood with a bolt on ne k and some electronic components...that by he way are made in china like it or not. Gibson...it's not the Gibson we loved anymore.....very little manual skills and expertise involved nowadays..materials got cheap....the woods are anyway coming from Asia and dried artificially for quick production...pick ups electronics mechanical parts etc really there is not secrets behind them...anyone can make and technology is available everywhere...and most of the machinery is from china.... In the meantime Asia has not there been waiting for ripe oranges to fall into their mouths.... They are ahead in production of fighter jets..submarines...weapons...electronics...satellites and who knows what else....I would not think they find difficult to make guitars.... Violins traditionally have been an Italian thing..Stradivarius and guarnirei del Gesù just to name a couple of those....and as my wife is a violinist from Chinese music academy of Qing dao...I was curios to visit some violin workshops...I Shangai I've visited some amazing guys making real pieces of art of violin...and as the players said to me they were sounding excellent.....still at a fraction of the cost of an Italian luthier made violin... Sure there are levels of quality in the copies as well..I've seen some really disgusting instruments...and some wonderful instruments... We live unfortunately in a globalize world and what was before is never going to be the same....they have high skills to make instruments...but the Gibson brand is something that it's valuable by itself... Chinese keep on producing amazing chinaware copies replicating the various imperial dinasties .. And still they make fakes...I've talking to some of them and asked why don't they sign these artworks with their names as they really are masters in their work but the answer is the same...market is not asking for great replicas...human being need the acceptance through the expensive brands and that's why. Personally..I have a real Gibson S1 from the 70s...and to be honest I don't really like it..never fell in love with it...but I'll keep it..is part of my life... The other 5 guitars of mine...are home made by me...4 telecaster styled in different set ups and a sort of 335 which I love ...none of them is branded with the big name as I take pride in what I've done... In the end ..what's the pride to have a fake Rolex or a fake Ferrari? But...beside being a clone....many of those guitars are well made and with some upgrading can be good as the real thing...if one doesn't feel unconfortable with the headstock logo on it...
Where is the follow up to this Billy G?? Play the damn thing…. I want one…. Wish you would have played it or did a follow up video…. Plug it in and let us know how you like it now!!!
I've had ATLEAST 10 chibsons they are either really terrible or really need to be upgraded never gotten one stock that considered it staying stock.... For the money if you can upgrade it yourself and don't have to pay anyone chibsons over Gibson's any day but if money isn't an issue buy a gibson (myself I always end up changing electronics and pickups in everything anyway that being said if your looking for one to upgrade chibson all day) mod a chibson increase the value and playability, mod a gibson kill the value and change the playability
It looks like they're definitely improving & I don't care what anyone says, that's a sweet guitar for $218. I got one off AliExpress as a project & I watched plenty of videos on here to learn how to avoid the pitfalls. The reality is you'll never get a 'Gibson Killer' for $300 but if you shop wisely you can get a guitar that beats an Epiphone, though bear in mind you will need to sort some problems out in all likelihood & upgrade a few parts if you want a decent, playable guitar. For starters. the fret board will almost definitely need work. They can't seem to be able to make a guitar with a level fret board for some strange reason. The tuners, pots, switches & hardware are all pretty crappy & will need upgrading, the pups can be pretty hit & miss too so some people are ok with them but I upgrade mine. Hope to see the finished project soon man, good luck.
no,you wont get a guitar that kills an epiphone, you will get a guitar that has a cooler looking headstock than an epiphone but it definetly is not in the same level of build quality as an epiphone.chibsons use low end seconds or throw away versions of epi pickups and the worst electronics available in the world.oonce you spend the money to elevate a chibson to the level of an epi,you could have had a gibson or high end epi.
Well I own 3 Epiphones (SG g400, LP Custom & LP Standard Plus Top Pro), 4 authentic Gibsons (SG Standard, ES355, LP Custom & LP Custom '56R) & a US Fender '69 so I reckon I'm pretty well qualified to attest to the quality of the guitar which I bought, upgraded & own, thank you very much. Don't tell me - you're one of those guys who would put their Epi up against a proper Gibson anyday, right? lol. Here in the UK a high end Epi costs around £700 new (about $1000 US) so if you buy a 'Chibson' for say $300 (which means it should be a fairly decent one, with a one-piece mahogany body & neck, proper maple cap (not veneer) etc.), then even if you spend $300 on upgrades, as I did mine, you're still saving $400 & I guarantee you, my 'Chibson' pisses hands down all over any Epi I've ever played (& trust me, I've played & owned a lot of them!). An authentic Gibson LP over here, even used will cost you a minimum of £1500 (around £2000 US). Only a total c**t would try to sell a 'Chibson' on & try to pass it off as a real Gibson, I would never do that. My guitar was a project for me to play & enjoy upgrading & I think I did a pretty fine job & like I said, I've got several of the real things to compare it to so what have you got to say now?
@@9imack bla-bla-bla-bla-bla ... it's a 300$ dollar counterfeit guitar, which means it cost about 80$ to build. These shady Chinese knockoff companies aren't giving anything away. they're maximizing profits like everyone else, even on the crap they sell
Peyote Pete . Hey, since I've had the guitar I've ordered new components for it. Haven't had a chance to install. But it seems good. When I get it all built and set up I'm gonna do video with results. I new going into it that I was gonna replace everything. Not trying to pass it off as a true Gibson. Just wanted a project. KntShiner as far as I know... non n the city of Qing Dao there is an actual Gibson factory plant that makes epiphone as well...they are "genuine" Gibson...
I also bought a Gibson 217 euros where I had to pay 170 euros douane, and I have to give the guitar to a luthier 120 euros because the frets are uneven and it is impossible to play this guitar. Great deal, Chinese
So, anything new to add? I’m about to order the same model with no headstock inlay or BFG on the back. How are the frets holding up, is the nut cut properly, are the pots noisy? Thanks.
Keith Johnston. Nut is okay and frets are decent. I completely upgraded all components. 500 k pots 59 style wiring kit from Stu Mac. Gibson vintage style tuners, pearly gates pick ups, and bridge and tailpiece from Faber. Added more aging and relic’ing to the new hardware and finish. Not gonna pretend it’s as good as the real thing, but for the money I spent on the guitar and the components, this thing plays and sounds great. Absolutely love it.
Keith Johnston No not that much. I invested about another $300 in upgrades. Pearly gates pickups, vintage style Gibson tuners and Fabre tonelock bridge and tailpiece. Sounds great and plays very well 👍
Not a fan of any relic guitars. But I see why you went for this one if they make it more like the real Gibson body shape etc... Seems like a great deal for $218!
The Great Gazoo Yeah. I wanted something that looked the part. When I get it all set up I'll do another video and see how it sounds and plays. Trust me, not expecting a 5K quality instrument for 250-500$. 😜
The Great Gazoo ..may not be a fan of relics...lot of people say...but actually the first guy to start the relic movement was Keith Richards...who went to Fender when getting a new telecaster and said he hated the new look of it..and could they beat it up a bit to make it look like his Micawber tele.....and so they did just that....and went on to do it for the rest of us since then....
No. Gibson is going under because they do stupid shit and they make stupid shit and ask 1000 percent of it's actual value. they use CNC machines same as gibson, run on a program, so I dont see how there could be any variations in holes and horns.
MARVIN THE BOON pretty sure most of these factories in China were shaping the guitars by hand. At least back a few years ago. Could be wrong though.
