    I usually do the Plus Package. Mathematically, the Premiere package is a better deal for shorter cruises than it is for a longer cruise, because you get two specialty meals per cruise regardless of how long the cruise is. If Princess wants to get more people do do Premier, they should change the rules for Premier so that, for instance, it includes two Specialty dinners for a cruise of less than 10 days, 3 specialty means for 11-20 days and four for 21 days or more... or something like that.

    My BEST Elite perk is the unlimited, free laundry and dry cleaning. The best perk on any cruise line.

    Bonus tier credit promo may also be a response to RCCLs tier match announcement. Too coincidental this follows a month or so after theirs. Also, many loyalty programs add a new top tier (with a few exclusive, aspirational benefits) when the current top tier gets to large.

    I think not as many people are buying the packages as they thought, so I think they are trying to encourage more to try them, hoping they will enjoy it and want to book that way on future cruises.

    Hi Allison, we sailed into Gierangerfjorg last year BECAUSE we heard about the restrictions coming soon. We took a bus in Gieranger that went on the Troll Path Highway & on the way back to our ship, the driver stopped at the top of the waterfall that runs through the town & has a staircase alongside to let passengers walk the rest of the way if desired. Judy & I did, and as you said, Gieranger is spectacular.

    On our 14 day Alaska cruise in May our laundry took 2 days.
    When we got our summary I did these calculations of what we paid:
    Gratuity: $476
    Bar: $205
    Crab Shack: $92
    Total $773
    If we had purchased the $60x2x14=$1,680

    For the platinum and elite lounge the only real benefit is the discounted drinks. The food on it is a little more than we could get at the buffet. There may be one special thing that isn't on the buffet. As vegetarian and since we eat dinner early we pretty much skip the lounge. If we ate dinner later the lounge would be more beneficial.

    I think Princess is leaning into adding another loyalty level above Elite. This accelerator promo is going to move more people into Elite and it's going to get top heavy. I received a survey a little while ago about loyalty perks. It asked what I'd like added and then my opinion about possible perks. I didn't think much of it, but now think it may have been a precursor for a new level. The only perk I remember is including shore excursions or a credit. Stay tuned... When I was on Regal in April, the afternoon Captain's Circle gathering for Platinum and Elite didn't have that many people.

      Fewer loyal cruisers attend the Captain's Circle party because they've purchased the drink package. Hate to say it, but the party used to be an opportunity for free booze.🥴

    Anxiously awaiting our cruise to Norway in 34 days. We didn't plan to go to the Troll Path but are taking a tour by bus to Dombas (which is on the other side of Troll Path mountain) and then will catch the Rauma train ride back to Molde. On the ride back we get to go over the bridge that was used in one of the Harry Potter movies and a Mission Impossible movie. We are so excited! Glad you had a wonderful cruise. Safe journey home!

    Experiences with other company's loyalty programs is present levels loose perks as they add more members. Also on our last Princess cruise the 10% discount we have always gotten on all purchase was not given on sale items or in the sale they hold in the dining room during a sea day. Wi-fi now includes a fee unless you buy the package. I think you are right that perks like the VIP lounge and laundry are also going to become less accessible.

    We just got off the Emerald Princess last week and our turnaround times was 24 hours on the laundry. The one thing that was astonishing to me was we were told that 50% of the cruisers were actual new cruisers to Princess. I think that is why the laundry was only 24 hours.

      Laundry turnaround took three whole days on the Caribbean princess! The more elite on board, benefits, have to change. 😞

    I believe all of those points are good reasons for this promotion. I do believe, however, that Princess is planning another loyalty level. I have very mixed feelings about that, but I certainly understand. My favorite Elite peek is the laundry. I have not yet experienced a delay in the service, but I imagine the LA -Alaska round trip next year will be heavy with Elites so we will see what happens. Fortunately, we are booked in a suite so our laundry shouldn’t be a problem! Lois

    We were in Geiranger two days ago on the Sky Princess. We rented the little electric car and drove up to Dalsnibba. It was wonderful. We have loved the whole cruise. The Sky is an awesome ship. Great food, great entertainment and great bed!!! lol!

    probably to boost the 2024 bottom line...... its all abt the $$$ after all........the Loyalty perks really don't cost them very much other than maybe the laundry staffing so if they can fill up some empty cabins why not??......they do nothing for nothing.........

    Laundry is the biggest perk. Elite lounge is a waste of time, who needs more food, and being on a drink package a free drink is not required.

    Since the promo ends December 1, if a cruise begins in November but ends after December 1, will the cruisers still receive the double-cruise credit? Also, if your travel companion is not platinum or elite, what are your options with the onboard perks? Love your videos! Thanks.

    The perks of the packages don't appeal to us, so we aren't going to book them. I'd rather put the price for the packages towards another cruise.
    Also, not interested in the VIP package. 🤷‍♀️
