  • We're back in Scotland and exploring Edinburgh! There's so many things to do but Edinburgh Castle is right up there.. tasting haggis has to be...⬇ More Below ✈ Our 220 page guide on how to travel non-stop - geni.us/9VHNx
Ahhh Scotland, we missed you! Despite knowing how amazing Edinburgh is, and the amount of things to do in Edinburgh, we sadly didn't make it here on our trip to Scotland a few months ago. Here's the full playlist from that trip if you want to see us explore more of beautiful Scotland: bit.ly/30ApLuo
Today we're back in Scotland and have a day to explore the amazing Edinburgh. To start things off we had a little confession about haggis, we actually hadn't tried it yet! Haggis surprised us a lot and even though the ingredients is telling us we should hate it, haggis is genuinely really tasty. The day in Edinburgh only just started and Scotland is delivering the surprise goods again, just like last time.
Edinburgh is a big ol city with plenty of things to do, so we had to be selective over what we would plan in. There's no chance we'd get to see everything in a day, but we loved the things we did get to anyway.

I’ve lived in Scotland my whole life, been to Edinburgh loads of times and I still get that “woah” moment every time I turn a corner and see the castle looming over the city. Away back down for the Christmas markets soon and I can’t wait. So nice to see people falling in love with Scotland as much as we who are lucky to live here already do. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hey guys. I'm the "random stranger" who said hi to you both and told you I loved your blogs when you were in a shop in Princes Street that day. It was a real pleasure to meet you in person. I didn't tell you but I'm not from Edinburgh, I'm from a small town about 30 mins drive away, and was actually in Edinburgh that day with my wife just for a day out as it was my birthday, so getting to say Hi really made my day! I was in there a few years back, when my nephew & his wife were married in the tiny St Margaret's Chapel, right at the top of the castle.
He was permitted to marry there, because he's a Colour Sgt. in The Royal Highland Regiment.
    Funny story:-
When the service was over, & we were leaving the chapel, we were surprised to see about 500 Chinese tourists pointing their cameras at those 'well-dressed' folk, coming out of that tiny building! (men in kilts & ladies in flowing gowns!)

9:09 Holyrood Park. I thought it was going to be like, for example, Hyde Park in London but it is actually a mini mountain range in the middle of a big city. If you walk into the middle you are between two mountains and can see nothing of Edinburgh and can imagine yourself in the Highlands miles from anyone else.
Near Calton Hill is a cemetery with a high wall and lookout tower built to prevent bodysnatchers like Burke and Hare digging up the fresh corpses for disection by medical students.

If your haggis is 'crunchy', something's happened to it! Calton Hill is spelled with an 'a', but it's pronounced as an 'o'. The 'volcano' you speak about is actually at Arthur's Seat, east of the castle. The castle sits on a plug of rock which was a lava outflow from the volcano.

It's a special city isn't it! We won't be going to Skye - we picked Lewis and Harris last time because we've sadly heard really bad things about the over population/tourism and the problems thats brought to Skye. Maybe worth looking into ❤️

To really experience Edinburgh at its best you have to go in August whist the Edinburgh Festival is on - it’s the biggest festival of the arts in the whole world... And you need a week, at least. Also, don’t just stick to the old town, explore all the areas in the New Town, Leith, Stockbridge, Dean Village, Holyrood Park, The Meadows and beyond.

I love your videos. Haggis is similar to many peasant foods: made up of what is left after the elite have had their fill. It is enhanced by haggis sauce - Scots whisky. Its fame comes in part from Robert Burns' "Ode to the Haggis". The Ode is recited, often from memory, at Burns suppers held world wide to celebrate Robert Burns birthday.

£16 on the bus and going into the castle, you must be minted . An all day pass on the bus (OK not the tourist job with the cut of top and the nice music) is about £4 .
The castle used to be free to anywhere but now it's just the esplanade that's free; going into the castle itself costs ,what seems like, an arm and a leg, well £17.50 (£31.00 if you join one of the guided tours).

Ive not finished watching yet so maybe you say something, but youve just walked past the cafe where JK Rowling wrote Harry Potter lol. You also just walked past the Boy Wizard store which exclusively sells official Harry Potter merchandise lol. And she lives about 30 minutes walk from where you are as well. Honestly, the city is genuinely one of the most beautiful cities I've ever seen. Barcelona, Rome, and Prague were really nice but i genuinely think Edinburgh is up there with them.
