    From this teacher's heart to you, I thank you so much for this!! We teach because we truly love these kids as our own. Thank you for recognizing us.Your words should inspire more parents to think as you do and inspire teachers to keep on keeping on!

    I'm sat here crying. Thank you... Thank you for appreciating all the things teachers do every single day. ❤️❤️❤️ I love my job I wouldn't want to do anything else. The kids I teach are amazing but it's nice to hear someone appreciate the time and energy that takes ☺️

      Brown Family Ranch Texas kudos to you for staying with a class that was busting at the seams. I only had 18 kids and they were all hearing impaired or deaf and blind. I had no instructional assistant. All different ages. I would do it all over again. Wish I had not resigned

      Word: I can’t say I really feel you but I FEEL YOU. My mid/highschool classes were around 30 kid’s a piece. And that’s rotating for 7 periods per teacher (140 kids). All respect to you.

    Teacher here. Can't say how nice it is to hear those things, especially after hearing stuff like this from your students/parents "what do you do? - I.. teach. - I know, but do you have a "real job"?"
    It's really frustrating sometimes

    My retirement is basic. I hope I can afford to live to my mother's 100 years. My memories in the classroom meet my generations of educators. I tell my children these 5 lessons and they ignore them...as I did.

    20 years in the public school system. I taught English as a second language to deaf children sign language sometimes they were blind. When somebody smarts off to me, I say "in order to get where you are you had to pass someone like me". I've done a lot of things in my life but teaching was my specialty still is. Thank you for this video.

    If you add all the benefits teachers get and if you got rid of the useless unions the pay rate of a teacher is almost 34.00 an hour. Once you take union dues, retirement, student loans, medical insurance it feels like your not getting anything. But let's add the fact most teachers only work 9 months out of year, have ungodly amounts of sick time vacation on top of the three months they get and STILL GET paid for they are doing fine plus with the number of low quality teachers we have in this country who show up just for the paycheck I feel they get too much money. There are some awesome teachers out there and they deserve all that love Josh but most don't. The awesome ones are minority which is really sad. Btw the 34.00 an hour is a number I pulled from ass don't rake me over the coals for it

    • @davidblackmon8523
      @davidblackmon8523 6 років тому +4

      FallenKing3620 For the record, we only get paid for the months we work. Our pay is distributed over 12 months so the school boards can collect the interest off the money instead of us. Many of us have 2 jobs to make ends meet. As far as time off, chunks of that is spent in continuing education to improve ourselves as professionals to help us try to educate a selfish, entitled generation that is more interested in thier phones than learning hown to be successful in life. Do we get decent benefits, yes. Do we get time off, yes. Are we exposed daily to God only knows what kind of germs daily as parents send little Typhoid Mary to school sick, yep. Do we face kids that are hungry, homeless, or have parents that tell them they need to start having kids so they can get more money coming in, you bet we do. Do we fill the roll of teacher, counselor, mentor and sometimes parent, you know it. Do we change lives, daily.

      David Blackmon God bless you

    • @kingzgaming4031
      @kingzgaming4031 6 років тому

      David Blackmon and like I said in my OP there are some heros for teachers but the vast majority barely show up. Not only have I worked with teachers I was a student. And don't feed me a sob story on how difficult your job is you signed up for it. And if it was easier to get rid of the horrible teachers then maybe I would feel more for teachers. But this is why I won't be putting my son into public schools I would rather do private or charter schools or home schooling to prevent my son from being beaten down by a system that doesn't give a damn about him. But when you have a system that doesn't reward or punish the teachers good/bad performance. You just end up with teachers who don't care and you can thank unions you can also thank unions for locking the school system into bad contracts which lock all teachers into bad contracts. And this is the big reason why equal outcome is horrible and we should only provide equal opportunity and if you have to get a second job to make ends meet get a different job or find some where else to work that will pay you what you should get paid for all your hard work
