Don't forget the daycare teachers; some don't have their centers close. And they are paid less then a sales person. They have a long list of requirements they have to teach children before the go to kindergarten. They are not expensive babysitters.
I agree with you. Generally speaking people believe that early childhood educators (infants through preschool) are expensive babysitters that are not paid enough and if they have children they need to find a day care that they can offered on their limited salaries. Because people believe since they work at a center they receive free tuition since they work there.
@@ilsengutierrez9348 I totally agree with you. I went to school and earned a degree in early childhood education. Definitely not just a babysitter. However, there are plenty of people who don't go to school for it, bit are willing to learn about the science and education aspects in order to provide age appropriate activities. And then, like you said, there are businesses or people that are claiming to be childcare that are just babysitters with a facility.
I thought I was a saint with my patience levels as an elementary PE teacher. You guys are god level!! I don't know how y'all do it?!?! Thanks for you amazing hard work preschool teachers that go unnoticed. I can totally tell if a student has gone to preschool or not.
So true, but that also depends on the type and quality of the Dsy Care (What You put in is what You get out.) There are many different ways to upgrade your Day Care and still follow all of the guidelines to increase how much you charge. 😊😊😊😊🙏🙏🙏🙏
Yes props to my fellow teachers including my self. We sacrifice our whole lives, money, sanity, and health. Amen we should be paid more. Yes because we have all those vacations its not enough.
Agreed but it’s a job we are good at. Our hearts are vested 100%. Wether it’s kinder or senior year. We do it because we care. I’m 23 years. All grades. And I still love it. Can not picture myself retiring at. 65. 😜. THANK YOU TO EVERY EDUCATIONAL EMPLOYEE
Trust me, we miss your kids as much as you wish they were at school. For as hard as it is for you to be at home trying to teach, we are wishing we were in our classrooms with them.. it is VERY hard to give that up. Thank you for this. We will get through this, and WOW, we will all be happier than we have ever been to be back to school when we get to go back! Thinking about that celebration is getting me through the days now...Keep going, parents!
Teachers are definitely UNDER PAID. My degree is in Education, but I'm in the Medical Field now because of the pay.. But, I have at least 7 kids per week besides my daughter at my house each week because the parents just can't do it and I volunteered to help out. To all the Educators in the world Thank you, Thank you Thank you.. you are so appreciated!! Smiles, from sunny Florida.
Thank you so much...this really shows me that this pandemic woke many parents to what we as teachers go through in a classroom of 22-24 students. I am a Chemistry Teacher and loved your science teacher video as well.
Pre-COVID19 parents to teachers: Why do we have to pay you glorified baby-sitters any more than we already are? Post-COVID19 parents to teachers: OMG!!! Whatever they pay you, it isn't NEARLY enough!!!
Thank you! I love watching your videos. I started a UA-cam since we have been off to give parents story time and some ideas to do at home. Happy teacher appreciation week!
Teachers are some of the most committed people in the world. I realized that when the teacher I worked with had breast cancer and still was at work every single day. She literally would be so sick from her chemo she was swaying in her chair but she refused to leave those kids.
Yep! Believe it or not, the children make us feel better. I suffer with severe migraines, some that take me down and some I just push through..... wearing sunglasses in my classroom, seated in a chair, with half the lights off. My babies know the routine. "Shhhhhh, her head hurts. You can't sit too close to her today because your perfume/cologne is too strong. You ok, do you need me to get you something?" I literally have to make them comfortable with me not feeling well. I tell them, "if I was feeling that bad, I promise I wouldn't have driven this far" I work in another district 30 miles from my home. But yeah, sick and all, we have fun and they give me strength.
In my state teachers make about 40k a year. You would have to pay me way more than 40k a year to deal with kids for 8 hours a day. Need to be paid more if you ask me
When you complain about your kids. Think about what the teacher has to deal with 30 - 40 kids. Don't even get me started on head start or preschool or daycare.. if no one tells you Thank You!
It’s crazy because the same week is nurse appreciation week and sweet Jesus I’ve been working 12-14 hours overnight and when you only get a few hours of sleep and to have their teachers do virtual class I’m sooo grateful. Thank you thank you thank you!!
Thank you so much for this video. My wife is a teacher and I also work in a related field to education so it is much appreciated to see someone give praise to a profession that typically is thankless.

I can't thank you enough for the comments. It's just our job and we signed up for it. That said, we can always do better. Imagine if this was 10 years ago or earlier. There is no way, we could have pulled this off back then without burning the entire Amazon rainforest for all the handouts we would have had to mail out to kids. LOL. Or worse, school would be a no go. We've all had to work together to make this work, so thanks to the parents who have had to step up their roles in order that their kids could learn.
He said he wanted to throw away the whole earth! I want to help you carry it to the dump! I FEEL....STRAIGHT FEEL your pain! I don't care how broke I am. I am going to get something for all of my kids teachers and ask them to never leave me alone again w/these kids!
Laughing out loud! Even though I am just a kindergarten instructional assistant I could relate to everything you say because I saw this every single day until the schools were closed for the remainder of the year. 🤣😂
