Silent Hill was the quintessential horror franchise of the 1990s/2000s. I was introduced to the whole series of games by the movie when it was released in theaters in 2006. I was glued to my seat through every part (especially the pyramid head scene, that scared the shit out of me). I went home, did more research on the film, only to figure out that there were several games released well before the movie. Luckily, i had a PS2 and ran down to my local used games store and picked up the first 3 games. The movie could never do the games justice. I spent hours playing and replaying all of the games. I was so hyped for Silent Hills, too bad it was cancelled :(
Axlan Zarrell I'm 26 right now, saw the movie in theaters when I was 16. Bought a ticket for another movie and snuck in because I wasn't old enough to buy a ticket for an R movie :P Silent Hill 1 was the scariest with its jumpscares, while Silent Hill 2 was more of a subtle, creeping psychological horror type of game. Both equally as great, just different.
+MrMaganeese awesome story dude! I bet it was awesome watching a horror in the cinema and such a awesome movie! ... I'm 16 now ): there's a lot more security know than back then but I can't wait until I can watch horrors in the cinema!
If you ever used to watch creepypasta readings on UA-cam (or even just watched horror-based content), you probably heard this there. This was a VERY popular background track for those types of channels back in the day.
I hope they keep this song for the silent hill 2 remake it's just so iconic it's one of the few game soundtracks I like to listen to particularly on a foggy day like today
I don't know how to describe the music it's just eerie, peaceful, it makes me feel both calm and anxious and this is why this is my favorite song in silent hill 2
Over a decade now... Long years of tears, happiness, torment and bliss... Whenever I look back at my past, whether it's sad or happy moments, this music plays in my head.... Never ending. Eternal. Thank you Akira for composing this masterpiece ❤
When I listen to this song I can picture this cafe/lighthouse on top of a cliff and the one room I picture there is where someone would wash dishes. It's all stainless steel and white tiled floors. I think it may be set in the 1950's... There's also a room next to it that has a spiral staircase going up and that room has loads of windows that are letting golden rays of sunshine in. I always see it from the perspective of someone who works there... It always gives me a creepy vibe, because nothing is really that "clean" and "spotless"... I sometimes picture this place when I'm in work, where I actually do wash dishes a lot, so that's probably where that image came from. I just have a feeling that there's a trap door in the room that will lead you to a sort of slaughterhouse right underneath the place. Maybe for human victims... I have a pretty dark mind. I tend to draw a lot and my doodles, 99% of the time, are very very dark...
It's funny how SH2 was actually a deviation (in terms of story) from the actual SH story, and what a beautiful deviation it was. But what I hate is that every SH game after SH4 in some way copies SH2. SH's story has come to mean "amnesia" and "facing your inner demons" and "you were the killer all along" when really it's about the cult that resides in the town and the supernatural happenings that they cause.
I do not agree with that. Silent Hill 2 was no deviation, it became one when Konmi decided to follow the plot of the first game in Silent Hill 3. In Silent Hill 2, the town became the main character and the true villain of the story, a villain that forced the protagonist to face his inner fears and his most repressed memories. That's what made it a beautiful game, ahead of its time. The problem with the newer SH games is precisely that they fail to explore that in favor to attempting to copy superficially some aspects of the game. That's why they fail, try as they might. The failure is in trying to copy SH2's surface without any of its argumental thoughtfulness or signifiance, not abandoning the cult-town plot, which by the way, has never been truly abandoned.
If I had to rate the Silent Hills in order I would go with: 1. Silent Hill 2: 10/10 - Absolutely perfect story, also I didn't expect it to be quite as frightening as it was. Was the first silent hill game I ever played and man, I'm glad it was. Still my favorite game to this day. 2. Silent Hill 3: 9/10 - Story is significantly weaker than its predecessor yet still good. Gameplay is better. More enemies. Overall sense of fear much higher, however not nearly as breathtaking of an experience. Great game. Top 5 survival horror game of all-time. 3. Silent Hill: 8.5/10 - Though extremely outdated in terms of controls, graphics & general capabilities, the story is great. Second best of the series in that aspect. Little to no resonating visuals due to such awful graphics. Lol. However, in its time they are more of a reflection of the time than of Team Silent. One of the most revolutionary games from the ps1 era. 4. Silent Hill 4: The Room 8/10 - The hatred for this game is completely unwarranted. Most refined controls in the history of Silent Hill. Scares are still solid. Main character is very unappealing however, and it makes the story seem a bit too lengthy in its attempts to pull at the heart strings. Having said that, the gameplay and monsters are fantastic. The idea brought to the table of first person view in "The Room" was executed very well. This was always the scary part. Underrated and under appreciated. Was the last true silent hill game. 5. Silent Hill: Homecoming 7/10 - This is where things take a bit of a rocky turn. Quality had been on a slight, but steady, decline. This game has an alright story. The real treat is exploring the town of Silent Hill on a newer-gen console. Though there definitely wasn't enough of it, it was a blast. Story too short though, and very predictable. It felt lazy. The saving graces of this game were the third best soundtrack in the series, after the masterpiece of the aforementioned Silent Hill 2 & the very good Silent Hill 3. Good game. 6. Silent Hill: Downpour 5.5/10 - If you're looking for an actual Silent Hill game, don't play Downpour. It won't satisfy you at all. It also has shitty controls that were an enormous step backwards from the previous two games. Graphics are quite nice however. Interesting environments that provide weather, and setpieces that are stunning. Monsters suck. Only real fun is running from the Non-TeamSilent Otherworld which is pretty much lame as shit. It sounds like I hate this game... yeah I really don't like it. Don't waste your time. As you can tell, I am an avid fan of the series. The best horror series ever, and a top 5 series in all of gaming. 2 & 3 are games you can literally speed run twice in a day and enjoy every minute of it. Thanks for your time :)

Not even with shit jumpscares either, make it personal like the series The Walten Files does. One drunk man never checks the seatbelts of his friend's children and they have shattered spines because he speeds and is lost in Michigan. From there, those childrens' dad flees finding them and never is found again in 1974, the mother is dismembered into a sheep animatronic who looks like her, a man named Charles got mutilated to where he can't recognize his own face and can't Spot the Difference, the main killer Bon regrets killing and shows it from a distraught face to crying to even showing that he didn't know why or even how he "made them beautiful"... And then you see someone with deep trauma stopping her medication because she finished high school and works for the company who shut down in under a year of opening, her childhood friend Rocket literally everywhere and leaving Safety in Pills. I recommend it, when you analyze it it is far better than the training FNAF VHS tapes from the inspiration Squimpus McGrimpus.

It is not creepy, it's...melancholy... One of the best video game theme ever for the best video game ever. "In my restless dreams, I see that town... Silent Hill" ❤
Cause it represents Angela, and how she eventually killed herself. Even though she’s free from all her suffering, she died and was never able to reach some sort of peace
@@cherrycola1144 ok I thought this was something else from the name 'Angela' and was like "wait what did I miss something?" And then saw the comment and went "ohhhhhh, that angela."
I absolutely adore this song, it's peaceful, eerie and relaxing. I use it at work to help put the children to sleep. Thanks a lot for fixing it's one flaw and making it longer!
This song is eerie it has that tone but it is beautiful just how the harmony plays in the background of the piano it sounds like I’m alone and the air is getting less and less this is peaceful I could listen to this for hours
It's also for PC and the original Xbox you know :) Don't even bother with the "HD remake" that came out for PS3/Xbox 360 a couple years ago. It's... not good. But in my opinion the best experience is playing the original PS2 version.
To some people have their different favorite Silent Hill game, but I think Silent hill 2 is my personal best game out of all. I mean first it's story will attach you from beginning to end about a man (James Sunderland) receiving a letter from his wife (Mary) at Silent Hill. The atmosphere is perfect, the puzzles are confusing and rewarding when finished. Re-tracking to previous stages in the otherworld is great, but its the story that matters. Horror games these days just try to scare you with cheap tricks and has no originality and that sence of accomplishment. Take for example when you and Maria trying to run away from Pyramid Head that makes you feel uncomfortable and have a feeling that he might catch up at any point, or seeing a new monster you never seen before and trying to kill it. I know that the P.T. is out with some of the most scariest visuals ever imagined, but I think they got away from what Silent Hill is suppose to be about since the beginning, a story about people going into Silent Hill and facing their most fears or facing their punishment of what they had done. But who am I to complain. Plus this song is really good
Sometimes I cant help but feel that Silent Hill is the final destination for all of us. A place and time for you to face what you refused to see or tried to run from, to recognize your lies and beliefs for what they are. A place for retribution and redemption, of infinite self-knowledge. A place of absolute loneliness and despair, but also forgiveness and serenity. Something exceeding the notions of Heaven and Hell.
This is incredibly beautiful and well written and if the terrifying memory of always hearing this song and never actually having the guts to play this game weren't where I first heard it, i think it would be soothing..........but its still just as terrifying as it always was............this game is perfect horror and I really dont know if any game will ever freak me out as much as Silent Hill 2

"In my restless dreams, i see that town.... Silent Hill"
I'm in love with this song, it helps me relax so I can sleep
I use this music when i'm writing books/horror stories. Thank you!
Great 👍🖐️🖐️🇺🇦
THANK YOU!!! I've been looking for an extended version for years!
I thought of one of the most beautiful, poignant scenes I've ever written to this song, and consider it the theme song of my novel. 🙂
It is not creepy, it's...melancholy... One of the best video game theme ever for the best video game ever.
"In my restless dreams, I see that town... Silent Hill" ❤
Honestly this feels more bittersweet than creepy.
- El hombre que vio lo peor de internet.
El hombre:
ty for requesting this OneFreeMan316
every now and then i sit alone in my chair with my eyes closed and just listen to this song to remember the sombre moments of life
Omg this is just so hauntingly beautiful it won't stop playing in my head..
Esta música estaba en casi todos los Creepypastas del 2010,2012,2015 etc
Que recuerdos
Y ahora revivió por "el hombre que vio lo peor de Internet"
Este temaso no va a dejar de pasar de moda
"Don't worry.. i'm not crazy, at least i don't think so."
This song is eerie it has that tone but it is beautiful just how the harmony plays in the background of the piano it sounds like I’m alone and the air is getting less and less this is peaceful I could listen to this for hours
I can finally...Sleep , Nostalgia
Whenever I'm researching creepy things I listen to this.
I love this feeling
Con esta canción tengo 280k de subs xd

Jordan Underneath's video on Silent Hill 2 caused me to spend 20 minutes trying to find this song.
I need this game.
Too bad I don't have a PS2.
It's also for PC and the original Xbox you know :)
Don't even bother with the "HD remake" that came out for PS3/Xbox 360 a couple years ago. It's... not good.
But in my opinion the best experience is playing the original PS2 version.
Fidel Rodríguez THANK YOU!
+Alex Morrison (AlexDoesNotLikeYou) I have a ps2 for sale if you are looking for one
Andrew Marcom No thanks, I found a place with PS2s.
Thanks for the offer, though.
+Alex Morrison (AlexDoesNotLikeYou) np but if you change your mind or know anyone that need one, please let me know.
The title is so emotional and the song too.. Makes me think about a lot of things.
I love it I look back on my lonely and still going life and i cry this makes me think of sad memories yet many happy bitter sweat ones as well
Some things from the past are hard to forget and all too easily remembered...
GTA San Andreas myths and legends
I could listen to this all day long it's so nice!
Plus this song is really good
Your comment weirdly makes absolute, perfect sense to me, you hit the nail right on the head.
This is Alessa's Harmony in the movie. It plays whenever something related to her backstory happens.
Could listen to this forever ❤️
this is my ringtone D
Thank you DaviDustin for showing me this song on your GTA SA Myths and Legends videos back in 2012
Love this theme so much
This has always had a pleasantly haunting melody. Love it
Akira Yamaoka created amazing songs for this game :)
Desde la primera vez que jugué Silent Hill 2 me encanto esta canción, vengo a ella cada vez que necesito tranquilidad ♥
Word's can't describe how good this series is
so true my friend
You, Sir, just got my respect. Your two comments are absolutely great.
12 minutes of feels.
thanks for the upload. this is exactly what I was looking for :)
silenthill became my bar standard for horror.. nothing scares me now...
This is the most beautiful theme I heard
You know, this song is giving me the weirdest feeling, like lightless dawn and blue corrugated cardboard...
Something exceeding the notions of Heaven and Hell.
crazy how the first time i heard this was some stupid roblox horror game in 2014 and now in 2024 i’ve been into silent hill for 4 years
Great pfp
Still here in the end of 2023, listening to this amazing soundtrack.. ❤😍
HELP THIS SONG IS SO ADDICTING I CAN'T 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
IS THERE A 24 HOUR LOOP OF THIS? I CAN LISTEN THIS ALL DAY I USE THIS MUSIC AS MY STUDY MUSIC
24 hrs? What?
@@leonardoleo7775 of that song, I posted this 5 months ago lmao you still commenting/
I could listen to this all day
What the hell i remember hearing this song in town of salem but now i cant find it in the ost.
The fact this is on Matthew Mercer’s playlist on his favourites is something that brings me so much joy.
I wish the born from a wish story would of been Angela's story instead of Maria, seemed like there could of been a bigger story with her
This is incredibly beautiful and well written and if the terrifying memory of always hearing this song and never actually having the guts to play this game weren't where I first heard it, i think it would be soothing..........but its still just as terrifying as it always was............this game is perfect horror and I really dont know if any game will ever freak me out as much as Silent Hill 2

I think part of why I love this song and the OSTs of the team silent games are it’s so calming yet unsettling at the same time
Frigging SH, all I can think of when I hear this is fog, rain, grey skies, and the occasional radio static. Makes me tired, relaxing but also slightly unsettling, good tune.
