A friend of mine passed away from shooting himself about a month ago, this was our favorite game series. I keep listening to this to honor him, and I miss him so much.
How many of you felt heartbroken and depressed after you saw the scene where Lisa dies? Even if you never even played the game and just saw it on UA-cam
+samdiego Man, Silent hill and metal gear were the games when I was younger! It was amazing, it actually scared me and so on. And yes, I have cried at lisa's death/realisation.
What was so great about Lisa's character is that she was stuck in the world of Silent Hill just as much as Harry was. She was the only "normal" character you find and her death scarred me as a child (Nearly 6-7 when I watched my Dad and brother beat it). Nothing will ever compare to the feeling of leaving her alone in that room, as you walk back down the hallway while the song plays on loop during the gameplay...Team Silent, Akira, you are true legends and will always reside in my heart. Even with Silent Hills being cancelled for good, 1,2,3 and 4 still live on and carry the same magic that this song portrays. To anyone who hasnt played this game, go out and beat every last second of it.
Samuel Berre Origins is quite decent and i really love shattered memories (except for the monster bits) Downpour had its moments to. Exploring was nice and that one chace scene in the sewers was a frightening experience ... So as far as i'm concered only homecoming and book of shit were the only ones that really sucked.
well that's the exact reason why i liked downpour: because it didn't feel (and technically wasn't) one of the other silent hill games, but it was one, it was just different
Lisa's death in the original Silent Hill game was far more terrifying than the remake of it several years later. I mean, to suddenly realize you've been a monster all along and then to be pushed away by someone you're asking for help...that's truly heartbreaking and horrifying. This theme is also really well done and suits the scene nicely, especially since it's rather bittersweet. Awesome job.
I think what´s terryfying about her death is the fact that she thinks all along that she is a good person. All the "monsters" (for what I understood) are the people that are willingly harming others, including the people that formed a part of Alessa´s death. Lisa thought she was different, but she was not: she allowed Alessa to suffer, and she realizer that by NOT doing anything to prevent that, she was equally guilty. That guilt and realization made her go monsterful. God this is a masterpiece
+George Reid i know that feel bro, i remember a similar situation, when i was watching my sister playing resident evil 3, I was 6 or 7 years old and i saw when nemesis kills Brad, Holyyy... I had that scene in my mind for a long time 'n_ñ
Yeah, nothing can be better than playing Silent Hill :s and even more when you're a kid excited with something as new as "videogames" word of a 32yo virging desperatly claiming he's female to survive.
When I first played this as a kid Lisa was my favorite character, not only because she's likeable, but because the moments Harry spends with her are the only moments that feel nice and safe. No game looked and sounded like Silent Hill back in the day, no game was as scary as it was, and playing it as a kid was really scary, but Lisa gave me a sense of safety, she was the only sensible and normal person that was just a victim of the town as Harry, Cybil was a cop so she could handle herself, Dhalia was some crazy lady that knew way more than we did, the first time Kaufman shows up, not only had he just killed a monster, but he fucking shoots Harry too. So Lisa was the only character I could relate to, she was afraid and scared and alone, most of us would behave like her in that situation, afraid to leave the only place that felt safe. And I grew attached to her, everytime she appeared I felt a sense of relief. Then this cutscene happened. I should not have played SH1 as young as I did XD
@@adair2ada565 well, many people deserve better and just have a terrible end. my grandma was one of the few people that showed love for me no matter how weird i was, all she did was for love. i watched her dying slowly and body rotting alive over the years. one of the best person i ever met died in a horrible and painful way, her body was fighting against itself and killing itself. she fought as much as she could to be with us, after she lost voice, motor coordination, barely could see. we were on bed as i was watching a movie and she died by my side. i was just 7 and this was 2009, i still cry for her and i never could recover and most likely never will. but i rather crying for her until the day i die because i love and miss her, i wish i could bring her back.
Man, me the same! I only saw some Let's play/walktrough and all cutscenes from Silent Hill, but when I saw that scene with Lisa... my heart is almost broken now :(
_These are the tears of a woman, lost. These are the tears of a woman, broken. These are the tears of a woman who has realized her true purpose in this horrifying excuse of a town. Even though you're frightened, and hesitant, you want to help her. You want to tell her it's okay, but by now, it's already too late. The transformation has begun, and is in full effect. As she slowly becomes attached to this town, attached to the creatures of the town, becoming one herself, you leave, in fear that you, too, will become a creature of this town. As you hear her cries, you want to cry with her. You call her name out, one last time, as the banging on the door slowly drifts to a stop. You know now, what you have to do. You know now, her purpose. You know now, your own purpose._
I'm 21 and a half, I've never played Silent Hill during my childhood, I began like a couple of months ago with Silent Hill 2 and I literally fell in love with the game like... it was literally being YEARS that a game didn't manage to get me so curious, and boy can we talk about the psychological side of the story? Literally one of the best games I've ever played so far. Then I though "man i really need to play the first one, I really want to see HOW Silent Hill began", so (as for SH2) I went completely Blind on the first chapter of the series, It gave me emotions and anxiety and all the stuff you want, but god... the moment I reached THIS scene... THIS, I realized how powerful and mercyless the game was, I felt so sorry for Lisa, she was just a victim of something she wasn't even able to understand, she was just scared and needed someone actually human to be with her, and the moment blood started flowing on her whole face and body I felt so sorry and so... powerless, It's very sad that you can do literally nothing to save her. If there's one thing I'm glad about is that the game didn't force me to kill her cause it would have been the absolute final hit to me, I didn't get too attached to her but I surely felt more empathy for Lisa compared to Maria or Angela, sure, Angela was a victim too but Lisa... somehow she literally broke me on the inside, some nights i go to bed and I literally can't get this tune off of my head, thinking about the fact that once she can't even manage to stand up anymore she still desperately tries to reach for you, walking on her knees, crying and wheeping, knowing that she's about to die, just wanting someone to make her feel safe, even for the couple of seconds she has left, while at this point her whole body turned to a nonstop bloodstream. Lisa did nothing wrong and she didn't deserve such a horrible death
My guess is that the real Lisa was dead all along, and the Lisa we meet in Silent Hill 1 is a manifestation of what’s left of Alessa’s innocence, she states that the reason she is still alive is because she is the same as “them”, as in the monsters roaming the town. They are all manifestations of Alessa and her nightmares, and the manifestation of Lisa starts to fade because the demon inside of Alessa is getting stronger, thus it starts to break Alessa’s mind, and the world around begins to crumble, showing how powerful this demon is. Either way by the end of the game... all that’s left of Lisa uses what is left of her strength to get payback on Kauffman, dragging both of them into the abyss, “possibly hell”, and after that, all that is left of Lisa is gone.
I had wondered why she sought vengeance on Mike by the end of the game since he technically wasn’t the one who directly ended her existence before the events of the original Silent Hill (the Order’s “angel” apparently was the one responsible for that), but then I realized that Mike was the one who got her hooked on the stuff that the Order was using to lure in tourists and visitors to the town and make them join their ranks or something to that effect, so in a way, he was ultimately responsible for what happened not only to her but also to countless others. Rest In Peace, Lisa, you got the vengeance you so clearly deserved. 😔
Kin dof late, but I think that she is the representation of guilt. She knew she could do something to help Alessa in her dire situation, but she was weak. There´s no worse pain than the one of regret, and betrayal. I think that is what Silent Hill is about. People´s idea of hell: for Lisa it was to be alone forever, when she realized she would because of her and nobody else, she dies. That´s what she means when she says "I´m one of them". She´s a monster, in the realest way possible.
@@Hugex97 Yeah, and, I’m just guessing, that the facade of her original self began to crumble as soon as Cheryl was taken into the emptiness only to be used during the ceremony for “God’s” rebirth, since this manifestation of God, The Incubus was a demonic beast rather than the heavenly goddess in the paintings. The story of Silent Hill is one of us as humans and how we view ourselves, we can either create a paradise for ourselves, or we form our own hell and battle our own demons. Or, if we go deeper than that, we can be what we view as god, or turn into a Devil with a human face.
I was so confused during this scene ... This is rare these days, to be so catched in the game and in pain for the character ... Especially in ps1. Great game, great song.
- First time experience. - Watch cinematic in shock and awe. - Transition to in-game cutscene. - Sees bloody Lisa - HOLY SHIT!! - Harry blocks door - Goes back to feeling sad
The first time I saw this...I failed to save Cybill so it was like taking two jabs from Mike Tyson to the face. I see Cybill meet a gory horrific end and then this comes right after. Twas a bad time heh.
@@johnblowme2783 Dude, I had a worse fate, the first time I finished Silent Hill I killed Cybil and I let Kauffman die. When I saw Harry dead at the end I was traumatized. And some time later I realized that after everything I did... that was the fate that I deserved.
The most depressive moment of my life is when Lisa dies. i was 10 years old at the time, i still remember that sad moment,i cried so much and there was nothing that could soothe my pain……..i am 19 now about to turn 20 and i still have that painful memory stuck in my mind, silent hill is more then a game, silent hill is art
i've played this game for the first time earlier this week and i cried like a little bitch (and I'm thirteen) this game is just so FUCKIING DEPRESSING, first cybli dies, then lisa and then hairy since i got the bad end :( (and i guess cheryl died but she sort of fused with alessa soooo...? (and then sh3)
"What is it? Still has an unusually high fever... Eyes don't open... Getting a pulse, but just barely breathing. Her skin is all charred. Even when I change the bandages, the blood and pus just start oozing through. Why... What is keeping that child alive? I can't stand it any longer... I won't tell a soul, promise."
Well...I mean what happens to her in this scene is because she becomes aware that she is dead so...she did die heh. Only now in both body and spirit. Way to go Harry, you broke the poor girl.
Well the thing is she was already broken and aware something was off about her. I mean in all honesty the impact of the whole scene was just heart wrenching to see her fall apart right there. I mean as much as I or anyone else wanted to save her it was already too late for her the part that really got me was the damn letter of her explaining everything and that need for the temporary release of her pain of whatever the fuck those drugs were.
I never thought it was possible for a piece of music to make you feel so many things at once: Pain, nostalgia and eeriness. I truly get emotional with this masterpiece.

Moths and Moonlight Especially when It's Lisa's bloodied form ? Lol kidding. I would do that. You don't know how sad and heartbroken I was when Harry locked her in. When I can control him again, I rushed inside immediately. Just to found... a diary. And I was Eight then :'(
I remember watching my sister play this when I was about 5. This scene made me cry like crazy. And then she forgot to save, and... that monster... from the fridge (Congrats if you remember this) came and took you under and then you died. Oh... this game still gives me chills...
I’ll be forever thankful to my friend bc he shared this song w me I knew from the first 10 seconds that I’ll never get over this melody and it would be unforgettable I can’t stop listening to this!!!
God, this game is so depressing if you really think about it, I mean, seriously, nobody should have to go through the things Harry did. Everytime I hear this song, just get a terribly sad, depressing feeling. This game and its soundtrack is just a complete and udder masterpeice. R.I.P Lisa.
This song is beautiful...and depressing...and calming all at the same time. It really makes me reflect on life and feel content with it. The sound and melody are almost therapeutic.
This is my favorite game of the Silent Hill saga. And specially the treat with Lisa is just sad. Lisa was abused by the director of the Hospital where she worked and when he killed her, her soul was trapped on the town. Then we found her "alive" but at the end, it was her ghost talking to us. She was just repeating her own dead when we pull her at the wall. She only tried to by normal as us, and she got a curse forever... It's like our character felt in love with her but after we know the truth, we are scared, we are terrified and we only wanna escape of something that we consider a "Monster"... A very sad story...
Yuuuuuuup. She became aware of the fact that she was a creation of the nightmare world and in being self-aware, she started to take the appearance of the monsters.
Well she never truly looks like a bubble nurse. I think it's just that now that she has seen her corpse...I think what happened to her was due to her "hope" dying when Harry shoves her away, so her visage breaks down and starts to replicate what her dead body looks like. Yeah I don't think Lisa was a manifestation of the town. I think it was her soul which like many others is trapped in the town and due to the nature of her death she never realised she was dead. And even by the end of the game, it never seems like Lisa is truly a minion of the town because she only goes after Kaufman.
The first time I saw this scene in a playtrough the player only says that scene is creepy.... I felt like this man has no heart. How can anyone see this scene, with this music and don't feel sad for Lisa?
@@eltizifacha335 You must know, wishing someone for death is the most evilest thing you will ever become. Think you will become a good guy for that? No, you're doing it only for the greater good of things, thinking it's the best option and you'll be happy about it?
This song is so beatiful, but it makes me want to cry because its just so sad! I dont even play Silent Hill, But i watched Lisa's Fate scene and it was so sad it tore me to shreds.....
Whoever made this song he's a fucking genius man I've been listening to this song all day and every time I make my eyes cry so much and that character that girl she's so so hot but it's so sad at the same time
But the sad thing is that she never will be truly free from the entity’s realm and every time she’s sacrificed she feels less hopeful. God I want her to escape the trials and BBQ forever.
Her being in dead by daylight genuinely makes so much sense. The way she “died” in silent hill gives her the perfect opportunity to be taken to the entity’s realm. The entity would have plenty motive to take her, and she would have plenty motive to survive.
@@BbuyTheStars You're right but most of us genuinely wanted this silent hill chapter and the Lisa cosmetic. I was so happy about the chapter I told everyone beforehand that it was probably gonna be it and hopefully it was I was so so happy for this.

every time i hear this song, remind me happy moments, a day in the park, my childhood, first kiss, my best friends, the most precious memories i have but... at the same time i feel weak, sad, confused, depressed, waiting for the death, waiting for something who take out all my life, replacing with pain and fear, waiting for my life and my existense ends in order to see how many life improved without me, hoping i can do something useful without having ever existed...
How does this song bring back memories when I spent the afternoons with my best friend playing there he always liked Silent Hill games but he had an accident that made my friend reluctant for this it always brings me nostalgia for this song
Another bittersweet song for me. I hear pain and laughter. I know right now it's tough, but you and I can't give into the monsters lurking in the shadows now, we haven't done it yet, we have much more to live for.
I know I mean I wish that horror survival games were like this nowadays and then i gave my opinion about the movies, so i changed the subject ya know? =)
the first movie is really underrated. its good enough to bear the silent hill name as a first attempt on the big screen. But its not amazing per se. imo because they just didnt execute it right. it shouldve just been the first game in cinematic form: harry looking for his daughter. but they tried to switch it up by having it be a mother looking for her daughter. and having sean beans character be worthlessly based on harry. only having lisa in the film as a "scary face" scene, having cybill die, pyramid head was only in it for like 3 min of screen time tops. pyramid head even being in the movie when he has nothing to do with the storyline that they were trying to do(SH1), if it was based off silent hill 2 then PH woulda fit. changing the names of characters, not having other characters in the film. i can go on lol but the first SH movie is a masterpiece compared to revelations. they just embarrassed SH3s name with that film.
Busternutt69 That is True. If they used the characters from the game, it would basically be the same thing as the gameplay so switching it wasn't a bad idea but making the 2nd movie was a bad idea for sure. The actors and actresses were perfect picks in the 1st movie but the director in the 2nd movie wasn't the same as the actor in the 1st that's why it sucks so bad and because It really didn't make sense with the 3rd silent hill game story line so It sucked ass lol
@Peter Griffin, You can, you just need to find an instrument you're interested in, and practice. As a guitar player myself, this is a VERY beautiful song to play, but always remember that it just takes time. No guitar player just woke up one day, picked up their guitar, and instantly knew a million killer riffs and songs. They had to practice; And if you do the same, you could become musically talented as well friend.
Literally crying because of this, she just wanted help but nobody did.

Lisa's death in the original Silent Hill game was far more terrifying than the remake of it several years later. She was also probably the only character with half-decent voice acting
I played resident evil 2 at 8, when my older brother was at school, that was the most terrifying experience for me.

Shiro Neko Sure! Go right ahead.
Im 16 i know ur feeling Bro
This song conveys the feeling of realizing that you are dead...
This is easily my favorite song in the entire Silent Hill franchise. It truly captures the feeling of tragedy more than any song I have EVER heard.
I mean, she literally says that she was dead since the beginning
That's overanalyzing it
Kin dof late, but I think that she is the representation of guilt.
Great game, great song.

lisa dying was just a heart breaking moment
She didn't die, she just became self-aware of what she really was.

Her being in dead by daylight genuinely makes so much sense. The way she “died” in silent hill gives her the perfect opportunity to be taken to the entity’s realm. The entity would have plenty motive to take her, and she would have plenty motive to survive.

Te extraño Alisson no sabes cuánto te echo en falta, quiero escuchar tu risa otra vez, quiero abrazarte otra vez, quiero comer contigo otra vez.

Another bittersweet song for me. I hear pain and laughter. I know right now it's tough, but you and I can't give into the monsters lurking in the shadows now, we haven't done it yet, we have much more to live for.
I really love this song it gives me the feeling of lonliness. and thats how lisa felt.
Silent Hill is still my favorite survival horror game.

dang i remember this song i always play this song when i feel sad or when i feel like the world is against me
This is such a sad theme and makes me think. I love it so much.
I wish games were like this. I love Silent Hill. The 1st movie is AMAZING but the 2nd one...not so much
I know I mean I wish that horror survival games were like this nowadays and then i gave my opinion about the movies, so i changed the subject ya know? =)
the first movie is really underrated. its good enough to bear the silent hill name as a first attempt on the big screen.
P.T
The first Silent Hill movie is good as a horror movie, but after playing the game, it made me cringe quite a bit.
Poor Lisa...
We que lisa

Still get goosebumps listening to this. Silent Hill was such a unique experience.
after my suicidal attempts i never thought I’d be here to listen again ..but now I’m glad I can 💕
I like to play this on my guitar when i am sad. I never knew why but I just have a feeling to do it 😀
Rugal can get sad?
glitchbro61 lol good catch 😅
I guess i know his weakness now when i play KOF haha
glitchbro61 lol
@Peter Griffin, You can, you just need to find an instrument you're interested in, and practice. As a guitar player myself, this is a VERY beautiful song to play, but always remember that it just takes time. No guitar player just woke up one day, picked up their guitar, and instantly knew a million killer riffs and songs. They had to practice; And if you do the same, you could become musically talented as well friend.
