Gills FX Makeup Tutorial

My newest tutorial on how to create gills using spirit gum, scar wax and a basic makeup palette. Don't forget to comment, like and subscribe.
Products used in this tutorial:
-Ben Nye Scar Wax
-Ben Nye Spirit Gum
-Ben Nye Character Wheel (cinnamon)
-Dissolv-It (for making scar wax less sticky) Can also use Quick Cleanse or Mineral Oil.

hi if i just put the was straight on to my skin will it not stick?

It will temporarily, but sweat and any contortion of the face will have the piece sliding of your face before you can say Happy Halloween!

How does this not melt? I used scar wax before and it came out great, but then as the night went on it all melted off.

Two things I would recommend are storing the wax in a cool place before applying and sealing the appliance with Ben Nye Final Seal. This creates a barrier to some degree. If you are moving and sweating a lot then the wound will have a shorter lifespan.

Can I make a mold with clay then put latex on it and them put the latex on my skin?

That should work just fine. Make sure your clay sculpt has seamless edges otherwise the latex edge will be noticeable.
