Mumbling is acceptable. As long as you mumble with feeling.

However I keep studying and hopefully in this lesson I can learn this song.

I'm SOUTHERN IRISH and I've learned irish in school,, and they say that IRISH language is both more difficult to pronounce and speak than Latin language,, its actually more difficult to learn cauz in irish the BH gives a V sound and the MH in irish gives a V sound too,, us IRISH can understand the words 100% but put irish words in front of Americans and they won't have a clue what's going on 😂 😂 lol,, but I sapoze us IRISH are just born into the IRISH language even tho we barley speak it anymore but we still reconise all IRISH language and words,, IRISH LANGUAGE >>KINDA FADING AWAY BUT WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN,, WE WILL ALWAYS HOLD SOME IRISH LANGUAGE IN OUR HEARTS

It was explained to me once that this Oro was actually an old warning in Pearse's time as in, Be careful or be on your guard or watch yourself.
Se do bheatha abhaile = it is your life at home.
Oro se do bheatha abhaile =Be careful it is your life at home.
Basically saying all you know is under threat at home it's time to fight as summer's coming.
    What do you think yourself?

    Hello !
Just wanted to tell you that I picked this song as one of the songs that I performed yesterday for my voice teacher students recitall. And that's a big thank to you as I could pronounce it because of your help ! The only difficulty, which was a big one, was to memorize the lyrics as I absolutely don't speak Irish Gaelic. Although, I made it ! And enjoyed it ! As well as the audience !did !
And to be honest, during the time that I was working on the song with my teacher, I realized that I'm very tempted to learn a little more, at least some solid bases of the language, Your videos are gonna be of a huge help again !
    Thanks so much !
    Go raibh maith agat !

Recently learned through DNA and documents, that my grandfather was Highland Scot and grandmother was Irish. My paternal grandfather was born into a Scottish Gaelic speaking household, on the Clan Cheif's Estate. Sadly my grandparents gave up their Gaelic when they immigrated to New York City early 1900's. Such a shame.TY for the video. I love this song.

Thank you, Siobhan! I'm American, down from famine people and those who came after, and they never let us forget where we were supposed to be. Not a popular view, Americans are not a world favorite now. But if my mum had thought it important she would have had an Irish passport, allowing me to have one. Ah well. The least I can do is learn the language and songs.

American perspective so grain of salt, but like... It sounds a bit like you feel you don't deserve to claim your Irish heritage because you are an American and. While I know there are lots of Americans whose "claim" of their "Irish heritage" is ignorant and mostly limited to St. Patrick's day, it doesn't sound like that's who you are at all. So I think if you want to claim your Irish heritage you should do it proudly and without shame.
