An Spideog, these Khan Academy style videos are very instructive. While you may not have the wealth of linguistic knowledge of An Loingseach, you're a lot less prone to waffle/tangents and never fail to make unambiguous, succinct points. Please, please, please keep going, you have a natural ability to teach. We can never have enough people like you stressing the correct slender and broad R pronunciation and the difference between English and Gaelic phonemes.
@@an_spideog That’s great to hear that more is coming. I don’t have any particular ideas, but I do think pronunciation should be your focus. There are many channels that can teach the technicalities of grammar, but a tiny handful that understand pronunciation.
4:01 - that's the first really clear, natural, recognisable slender R I've heard, something definitely clicked for me there. Great video to help me codify some of what I was noticing so that textbook Irish doesn't come out of my mouth when speaking to actual people xD edit: I'd love anything Gaeilg Uladh!
I'm really happy it helped! I'm not really the best person for Ulster Irish, but I'm trying to bully some of my friends to make some videos with it, so we'll see how that goes!
It's curious to note that many of these same pronunciation rules are almost exactly the same in English. Most learners have never had the similarities and differences demonstrated to them. It really helps for a language learner to know a bit about their own L1 Grammar and pronunciation.
