Would you look at that, all 3 of my favorite moments were in 2019.
Oops.
Well my favorite moment is when stitches great escape opened. But the target advertisement at the park panel is my second favorite
Wow I just noticed that:)
Did u just forget about the other nine years
There is a Spider-Man ride at Universal Studios, but a new one for Disney seems soo cool!
hey offhand i would like to do a video with you my mom works for the park and i wanted to tell you some stuff that only a cast member would know or anything else! if you have a question i could probably answer it. i could talk with you on discord or steam if you have it, i would love to be on your channel.
The good thing about fastpass+
• the sound it makes when you scan it
I'm still heated about the new system. We need one like Disneyland ASAP
@@RosinGoblin No way!
FP/Maxpass at Disneyland makes the same sound 😉
no, i don't even like that.
It makes the same sound with Maxpass UwU
"we like to think outside of the box"
*puts you inside a box*
(Then appears inside a box in the next scene)
I'm surprised the People Mover wasn't included in the 3 P's
What do u mean
It's the 4th, lesser known "P".
It’s in the fine print, don’t worry
I wish
The intro to this video is unmatched by anything else
True!
“Most symmetrical”?
You weren’t around in 2002?
2005 could be considered, though massive stretch.
An Idiot With Internet The thought had occurred to me. If we’re talking actual symmetry, yes, 2005 is about as close to it as we’ve had in recent history. 2002 is at least a palindrome, but 2020 isn’t really anything.
TBustah he materialized the second we hit midnight for 2020
“The one and only Spider-Man ride in existence “
The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, one of the best rides at Universal: Am I a joke to you?
Worst: Tower of Terror change
Best: 60 year celebration
Sure glad Orlando hasn't screwed theirs up yet!
Tower of terror was a great ride but got pretty stale and it was annoying hearing everyone say "the twilight zone" at the end of the video...with a song going with it, it's makes it more fun
Best: new themed lands appearing at disneyland and disney world in the span of 10 years
Worst: somehow... Orlando gets the rise of the resistance ride first despite galaxy's edge opening later there... we all know that was pretty dumb
I was like u and didn’t like that they changed it but it’s honestly better now even though I don’t like to say it
Lol have you actually ridden Mission Breakout? Because if not, don't talk out of your ass.
"The one and only Spider-Man ride ever in existence."
Suuuuuuuuuuure.
My thought exactly, I’ve been to Universal Islands of Adventure! It seems to me there was an awesome Spider-Man ride there!😎
I think he meant by disney we all know universal did it first
Marvel land at islands of adventure: am I a joke to you?
I’m living for this style of opening the video 😂
Thank you, we here at Offhand Disney always strive to uphold our content to a certain level of quality.
We hardly ever reach it, but hey, we still try.
Honestly it was like watching a tik tok lol
Hey, i just love seeing more of you and your personality. The opening was hilarious and true to yourself and the standards you strive for. Very refreshing and entertaining. Get it!
7:23 If there are hidden mickey's, is this an obvious oswald?
Watching this in 2021 and seeing how hopeful we were for 2020 is a trip.
The intro has me in tears😂
Worst thing Disney did during this decade? Three words.
1) Live
2) Action
3) Remakes
Nah it was the removal of so many rides
ok ngl aladdin live action remake was pretty bomb. taking put classics was the worst.
Best: Disneyland’s Diamond Celebration.
Worst: demolition of Spectromagic
Worst: live action remakes, Pixar sequels
Best: Infinity War (+Marvel in general), Galaxy's Edge, Pandora (Toy Story Land is good too but not quite as good)
As galaxys edge.
YESSS live action remakes and Pixar sequels have to be my least favorites too!
In all honesty, Incredibles 2 and Toy Story 4 were def better than Cars 3.
Galaxy's Edge belongs in the Worst category, especially as Rise of the Resistance is becoming notorious for breaking down.
jacoblgames what really I haven’t heard of it breaking down yet
Best: when disneyland wasnt crowded
Worst: when they removed muppet vision 3D
And
When I COULD'VE SEEN Elton John perform at disneyland on MY BIRTHDAY but I decided to ride rides INSTEAD
I so agree about Muppets! And especially since it just sat there for so long as nothing... sad!
In other words, for all of Galaxy's Edge faults, it kept the crowds away?
If the prices continue to go up I might as well put away all dreams of visiting Disneyland ever again in my life. I'll have to stick to the vague memories of a 7-year-old.
BEST:
3. YNOT on the Jungle Cruise
2. My first trip to Disneyland
1. The evolution
WORST(?):
3. Hyperspace Mountain
2. Endgame
1. Far from home
I wish I could've made it to the Haunted Mansion thing. I love that the parks are getting love.
The only budget part of those "budget parks" is that you need a biiiiiiggg budget to go in them
"The Three P's" and "it could've been worse" are both HIGHLY relatable. This was great! Totally worth waiting for. 😊
Offhand Disney: "But I guess the guest offerings at the parks HAVE gone up so..."
Evil laugh from 2021: "Whahahaha...!"
Really wish I could have been there for the 50th of Mansion. I really love that they had live actors in the ride that night. The beginning had me cracking up. Glad you took the time to make this video. Thanks and happy new decade!
Hi there! I worked at Disney for a whole decade and Disney controls the crowds by closing the gates when is at full capacity, not raising the ticket price, they raise the ticket because they keep adding more attractions and employees get pay raises every year, so they need more money to make profits.
The target thing was HORRIBLE
I love the 60th Disneyland
maybe some day Disney Park prices will be so high that only people who can also afford Club 33 will be able to get in and the club will at that point be open to ALL guests.
People vote with their dollar, and as long as off peak times remain incredibly busy, they’ll continue to raise until they start to see a drop. At least they’re adding a bunch of new stuff. They could always just collect the money without offering anything new, until they see a drop in attendance for that reason.
I remember a time when you didn’t even need a fastpass. Everything was walk on. There truly was an “off peak” season. You felt like you owned the place. Then Disney decided to start letting people in free on their birthday. Family members and friends still had to pay though. It was brilliant, and the parks were much more crowded because of it. Of course, that was a decade ago. Now the off peak crowds are insane, despite the price.
The sad thing is that's where Disney is headed.
jacoblgames so... ...I need to get on the wait list now?
How bad is it that Disney has become so class segregated that even the über rich have to wait upwards of four years or more? Whatever happened to spending a month in Europe?
my favorite thing Disney did in the 2010's: Carsland, The Little Mermaid ride, and (this is very controversial) Mission Breakout -I love and miss Tower of Terror a lot since it was my favorite ride, but I love Mission Breakout (I went on it 12 times in one day once)-
And my least favorite thing was: The retheming of DCA (I loved the post card feel so much) and getting rid of Bugs Land, Soarin over California, and Re-theming of Paradise Pier (I love Pixar Pier, but not as much as I loved paradise pier. -I was there opening day of Pixar Pier. Didn't get to ride anything though- )
BEST of the decade: Disneyland Diamond Celebration.... Period. 👏
Holy crap that's a substantial increase since I was there Disneyland at least
For the record none of the Disney stares in target (just saying prob my two fav places in the world) are in California or New York (I live in ny Long Island) and they are going to places like Montana Colorado and Alabama
i remember when i was like 5, around the time the stock market crashed in 2008, premium passes (the highest level annual pass) only cost $300
Lol the most symetrical year would be 2002.
Great video!
Worst: Bob Chapek and his penny pinching ways (i.e. cutting back live entertainment at Disneyland).
Best: Cars Land
RIP Great Moments In History (But Just The American Parts).
Since you were playing a keyboard at the start of the video... Can we get an Offhand piano video?
So... with no hands playing a piano?
Probably my fav thing is that they added Soarin' fantastic flight in Tokyo Disney Sea!! It's absolutely amazing💕
My Target has one of those Disney stores and it just all of the Disney toys, a giant spinning Mickey head, and some chairs. A total let down.
Mark Moire same
Check my comment about it
"and Procrastination!" Oh damn son, it me!
"The one and only Spider-Man ride"
Islands of Adventure? 😂
Also, I believe that Disney has cancelled their Droid plan in Galaxy's Edge, and I understand why :( I do hope they have more walk around characters, like alien civilians that don't need photo ops or anything, they just add to the area!
Can you imagine if instead of a single rider line, they filled the empty spots on Smuggler's run with people in alien costumes?
Do you know the exact reason why they cancelled roaming droids?
As far as the fastpass+ thing goes, I fully agree. I went to Disney World a year ago tomorrow, and I thought my favorite attraction (Peter Pan's Flight) would be closed for the entirety of our trip.My mom found out like a week before that on the first day we were going to be there it was open, I had already made all of our fastpasses for EPCOT so I couldn't have cancelled our Fast Pass for the Three Callaberos ride, our only hope was rope drop. Thankfully as soon as the rope drop happened at Magic Kingdom, my family and I literally ran to Fantasyland and got on Peter Pan's Flight as a walk on (Thanks Park Hopper tickets!)
There is actually a Spiderman ride at Universal Studios Japan called "the Amazing Adventures of Spider Man - The Ride 4K3D". You're basically sitting in a carriage which goes around the set and uses real props but mostly large 3D screens for the effects.
Least favorite: FastPass+ (I'm fine with dining reservations, but ride reservations 30 days out are just stupid), Pandora (because the signature attraction was incredibly uncomfortable to sit it), and that Target thing (not just being during the parks panel, but even being a thing at all, I love going to the Disney Store and am now really worried that the ones by me will all end up closing). Favorite: MCU, Disney+ launch (boy did we end up needing that throughout 2020), and DCA 2.0 (because it finally made DCA a full day park for me instead of a couple hours)
Best of the Decade
1. Realizing I don’t want to just be a fan; I want to make the magic for others by becoming a Disney imagineer
2. New lands, rides, food, immersion (yeah all of them)
3. The opening of Shanghai Disney
Worst of the Decade
1. Tomorrowland Paradox
2. Removal of Innoventions
3. People Mover still hasn’t happened
Cheers dude!!! I don’t know, there were a lot of great moments and memories for me at Disneyland this past decade. But if I were to choose something specific. It would have to be me witnessing the return of “Old Hatty”. That blew me away like you wouldn’t believe.
my favorite youtuber really be in a box in the first minute of the video
I like the tripod.
Am I forgetting anything?
Oh! Yeah, favorites: Endgame was amazing! Everything came together and became a masterpiece! Also Toystory land is pretty cool, I like the Slinky ride, it’s always good to have another coaster.
Least favorites: Getting rid of the Great Movie Ride. And removing Toon Town from Magic Kingdom. And also Maelstrom, I like the frozen ride but Maelstrom actually made sense for Epcot, so that as well.
All of those were Disney World related as I’ve only ever been to those parks.
Man, I just love your content. :D Keep it up!
Offhand Disney:
Star Wars: “...am I a joke to you?”
Well, Star Wars has been turned into a joke now.
yes.
No
Your top moments were the same as my top moments. In the case of the 50 Year of Retirement Unliving event, it was actually the exact same. I was the guy who, probably awkwardly, caught you at the Disneyland Hotel as you were about to go through the mock front door to get your packet for the event, to tell you in person that I enjoy your videos.
After hearing the Scareolers perform Monster Mash and Dead Man’s Party at the Golden Horseshoe, I wasn’t as patient as you and, instead of watching the riverfront show, quickly boarded my Doombuggy to visit our favorite happy haunts. I talked with so many other fans at check in, the shop, and during the event itself, it felt like I was amongst my people.
Except for that moment where I couldn’t remember Pickwick’s name. That made me feel like a poser. I could remember the red scarf, but that was it. The guy in the churro line in front of me dressed as the caretaker couldn’t remember either, so I didn’t feel too bad.
I really love the intro to this video. I love all your videos of course hehe
It's so weird looking back at these beginning of a new decade videos now that we're six months into a global pandemic. We were all so hopeful! 2016 was really the start of the end times.
Why was that?
"The most symmetrical year of my life"
2002: Am I a joke to you?
I initially felt the same way as you with fastpass+ at Disney world. I was an OG who had that paper system down to a T, so I was infuriated that I wouldn’t be able to get a fastpass for all 3 mountains in one day anymore. BUT, I’ve found the way to maximize fastpass+ to my advantage to, but it aligns with how my family approaches Disney vacations, which isn’t the same as everyone’s approach. Fastpass+ works really well to get the most rides in in a short amount of time with minimal waits, but no it is not good for getting all the rides with super long waits done. So we do pick our like one big ride to try and get a fastpass for, but then after our 3, we go into a park and just search for that 4th after we’ve used them all and just keep looking for one immediately after we use it, which leads to multiple walk on rides in a row!
I spy the Brickers @9:41! Great video. My favorite thing Disney has done is plus the immersive theming in the parks.
I love FastPass + in ten days I didn't wait in any lines. Once you use your fast passes you can get more. It made it sooooo much better. You just have to check often, better bring a backup battery for your phone!
uhhh “the only spider-man ride in existence”? universals spider-man ride is quaking
I guess he was being sarcastic.
Jose Hernandez i assumed but also like there were no like obviously sarcastic tones so ahaha
I dont like that you have to fight training bots, looks dumb, i like the Sinister 6 at IoA
Jose Hernandez j
With rage?
Endgame: ok cool
Star wars Galaxy's edge: yep that's definitely a huge deal
Haunted Mansion 50th anniversary: boooooooooo!
I mean of course he'd choose that as THE BEST moment in the decade for Disney.
(Do you like my pun?)
A huge deal for all the wrong reasons.
Why
Great video dude, good job.
You're a Disney Genius 😀 Luv your stuff n hope you continue 😁
Really enjoy the video content on this Channel.
My favorite Disney Decade from the 2010's were 2010, 2012 2013, and 2019 (from the Film side of things that is).
You gained one like just because of the intro. Now I'm looking forward to the rest of the video!
As a WDW kid, I love Fastpass +. I remember us having to wake up at rope drop and having to rush to our favorite rides to get fastpasses. Yes the third stink and they really need to change that but I find it was super smart.
WDW fifth gate: Target
Best things for me personally: everything they've done with Marvel, and the new things they've added to the parks.
Worst: the live action remakes, and prices going up
So how you feel about Phase 4?
@@SirBlackReeds Honestly, not super excited. I'm a massive Marvel fan, but I think they need to give it a rest. We need time to miss it so that it's more exciting when it comes back
@@alltheinnocence So much for "everything."
@@SirBlackReeds I'm saying everything this past decade. It's an amazing accomplishment, and is unlike anything we've seen on that scale, but now it should be done for a minute
worst disney things in the 2010 decade: removal of the physical hitchhiking ghosts in 2011, & new changing portraits w/ photo op camera in 2019 at WDW's Haunted Mansion!!!
I can live with the interactive queue. it is sometimes ok to go through but i usually skip it.
Worst is a tie between Tower of Terror going away and the removal of the original Red Head/scene - pretty sure the Red Head wins that category :/
Best was the return of The Main Street Electrical Parade!
I’ve got another 2 mistakes:
The fact that you have to pay $100 to build a droid and $200 to build a lightsaber.
So you were the Spies in disguise inspiration for Tom Holland's character ?😂
On my 50th birthday I saw the Paint the Night Parade for the first time. I cried from joy.
I have to agree with the pricing... the pricing stuff is astronomical and in my opinion unwarranted. I understand the "crowd control" aspect and the money making part as well but there is a certain point when it goes from being just an inconvenience to all out disgusting.
I think with the insane pricing involved there should be more perks added onto your ticket, such as a built in dining plan, or at least more affordable food options.
I’m going to Disneyland next month and watching much of your content to get amped up.
Love the vid you are my favorite youtuber
The 3 P's: Practice, Praise, Procrastination. Hilarious and brilliant. But, could PPP also be an Offhand reference to a particularly prolific family of Disney vloggers? (i.e. "the competition")
I'm so jealous you were able to get to the 50th anniversary of the HM. Like you, it's my all time favorite theme park ride, but I am stuck here in Florida, broke af. lol. Hoping to make a return trip to Disneyland this summer so I can enjoy the OG one again.
That into tho 🔥🔥🔥 one of the many reasons why I love your channel
“ a lot of things to be happy about in 2020”
9:06 Did you forget about the Spider-Man ride at Universal Studios Orlando and Japan?!
If you want to talk about D23, how about them discussing a massive EPCOT overhaul without even touching the tragedy of Journey Into Imagination
Not a very attractive Prospect, going to a park full of people running around with phones on selfie sticks. Situational awareness is important.
Hollywood Studios is the worst of Fastpass+. The only Tier 2 ride is Star Tours, so all the other rides you have to pick fast passes.
The Magic Bands are really cool though, the ability to check in your room p, not have to carry money, and fast passes are great.
Worst: Incredicoaster/Pixar Pier as a whole, reskinning Tower of Terror.
Best: Hatbox Ghost, Rise of the Resistance.
Favorite- continued improvements and renovations.
Least- adding Marvel and ridiculous prices
Both Marvel and the MCU are fertile enough that they could have made a fifth park devoted to either one.
The video of you driving the boat is top notch.
I have to agree on the fact that fast pass + is awful. It makes planning so much more difficult. Thankfully, we always go for at least 8 days, so I can usually go two days to each park and take full advantage of it.
I don’t think this “decade of Disney” was off to a good start
When you got to the things you liked and hadn’t mentioned Star Wars, I wondered if you liked the new ones.
I feel bad for the super fans. I’m perfectly happy with only owning the original trilogy.
I think he mentioned he likes ROSW.
i was a big fan. but i cant behind the newer movies. as i grew up on the original trilogy and as i got older i read all the books. so the books are my canon star wars, not this new stuff.
Fastpass with the magic bands were a nightmare in 2016 when i went. Then every year after it got better. Then disneyland took away the paper fastpasses and added wait time to get another fast pass. I remember people sitting out of space mountain selling their fastpasses. With the target thing, disney stores were disappearing and in store like Macys, walmart, target, increase disney stuff. sad. I was disappointed that both galaxy lands are the same in disneyland and wdw. I wish it was a bit different. The best thing they did was the commercial song for summerfanstic lol
Don’t forget how you now have to set your alarm for 6am central, 4am pacific, to make your fastpasses as soon as they become available. If you’re staying offsite though, too bad, so sad. No E Ticket/Tier 1 attractions for you. Staying on resort however, yes, you MUST book fastpasses the second the become available. If you wait till later in the day, they’ll all be gone and you’ll be riding the same attractions the off site guests booked.and don’t get me started on ADRs!
At least with the paper system (which also had its own set of flaws) everyone was equal. Resident Passholders, offsite guests, people who at the last minute decided to book a trip, clueless guests who think WDW is the same park they grew up with in the 20th century, where you can just show up without a plan.
Every single word of that intro is a mood
I hear ya on the physical sets sir! I am sad the Avenger's Campus is only in Disneyland I live not far from Disneyworld. I do love the integration of more fandoms into the parks.
i’ve seen the stress that the fast pass+ system puts on guest and their families and it’s insane. they are constantly running around the park trying not to miss there fast passes, are always angry at their kids whenever they want a break and there next fast pass is coming up, it makes what is supposed to be a vacation a complete NIGHTMARE. Disney is supposed to be about letting go and going into a world of fantasy where none of your problems are there anymore but that’s certainly not the case with the fastpass+ system.
Great video. Loved the 50th anniversary stuff for Haunted Mansion still hate they took out the Redhead in Pirates. No pirate would ever auction chickens. Those price increases and Target partnership tho. Man those are pretty awful.
A few days ago when I was at Galaxy’s Edge there was an actual R2D2 rollin’ around with two cast members!
worst: hyper space mountain... we did not need that
best: there's so many more vegan food options in the parks :')
Seeing the people mover track is making me want it back more and cry. And quick question what are the songs you are using.
Best of the decade has got to be Galaxy's Edge for me!
as far as their product goes, the worst thing Disney did this decade was The Last Jedi. Whether you like the movie or not, the film itself along with the response to it from fans and the responses to fans by Disney has left Star Wars in a really bad place. it led to an unmemorable sequel that had to retroactively rewrite the events and characters and now theres talk of using time travel to completely undo the entire sequel trilogy and possibly redoing Galaxy's Edge as well
9:06 universal: Am i a joke to you
Oh my god. ...that price increase...I don't think ill ever be going again.
I live in a small, suburban part of Washington and for some reason our target got one, and it’s very weird. I don’t really know how to feel about it
