I can't believe it. Spiderman told Jameson exactly why he's spiderman and he still didn't trust him until he took off his mask
The Crimson Dragon Slayer at that point, which got revealed later, he was speaking through grief. Grief clouds the mind and makes it impossible to see through logical.
Man, that made J. Jonah Jameson slightly more relatable then an angry old man who has nothing better to do
Ultimate Comics did it WAY BEFORE THIS. He shot Osborn before this too, RIP.
This might be one of my favorite Spidey issues of all time. A straight up face to face putting all their anger on the table only to end with JJ knowing Pete's identity
You know, I’m not too crazy with what they’ve done with Spider-Man over the years, Spider Island and his adventures with Deadpool being the only exceptions, but seeing him finally telling Jonah off after all the bull he’s pulled is refreshing.
This is so damn ironic from J.J. when Spidey revealed he was Peter before Civil War he got Peter fired for fraud from the bugle. Now he got Peter to confess cuz he thinks its Spideys fault for family members and his wife dying and getting mugged most likely when Parker wasn't active. Sure I get robbers mugging him gave him ptsd on All costumed heroes Masks included but he SOLELY hates Spider-Man. The hell Jameson!?

Many of the big super heroes have public identities, I'm pretty sure he also has a pretty decent hatred for the likes of Moon Knight. Spider-man is just a really public face for super heroes with masks in New York.

In Maximum Carnage he just hates everyone in costume with the exception of Captain America.
Continuity has never been a friend of superhero comics.
I remember in the spiderman animated series that jameson revealed he hated people who wore masks because when he was a investigative reporter who chasing after the rose who threatened him to stop and he didn't leading to his first wife to die.
But the rose was kingpins son.

I Think Jonah had no idea that Peter was spider-man and you can see he was definitely shocked to see his face.
I like this series not because of the action solely but focuses on the relationships of Peter and gives plenty of closure to each character. The series has potential, even with some flaws, since its clearing a lot of plot holes and brings back to the old roots of Spider-Man.

There are always heavy consequences each time Peter reveals himself its always to appease someone else's reasoning, this was a huge moment and JJ had to play the double cross. It should also set in he employed Spider-Man for mostly taking photos of himself and likes Peter.
OH THIS STORY IS GETING GOOD
The Jameson breakdown was pretty touchy, the idea of how long the rivalry went on, the reasons, it's amazing, you can say Batman vs Joker is the best rivalry, but honestly, this one feels a lot more better.
While the Batman v joker think is just the joker killing people and Batman don’t doing anything to prevent to happen here we see Spiderman being hated by everyone because of Jonah
A battle that can not be win witch a fight
Some one who use the death of a loved one to make e every one safe while being hated by someone who got his same treatment
It’s truly an amazing story
This rivalry is better in my opinion because it’s far more believable and relatable. This actually feels like two real people having genuine grievances AND empathy for one another. Bats and Joker isn’t a rivalry at all, they’re diametrically opposed and there’s hardly anything relatable about it. I’m not bashing it, it’s an iconic relationship for a reason, it was just never meant to be seen as a rivalry or be relatable.

I always had a fun spiderman universe in my head, instead of ben it was aunt may who died, ben talked him into joining the army or some government place, picked up by shield and doesn't have to hid his idenity more or less(his personally is more combining 2099 and normal peter parker)
That's kinda explored on a variant where he basically becomes an assasin for Shield.
I don't suppose you guys ever did or might do Spiderman: Reign? Yeah it's a really old comic but it was pretty awesome. Even if it was pretty much trying to be Dark Knight Returns.

Honestly There are tons of reasons why Jameson hates spiderman but I think over the years it's come to the point that Jonah uses spiderman as a lightning rod to vent his frustration Over the bad things that happened in his life. What I mean is the reason doesn't matter anymore what matters is that Jonah Is using spiderman as an excuse to not get over his own grief.

Spider Man is the Batman of comics in Marvel; If you know what that means anyways. You see Batman may be a main view point of DC, but his stories are always top notched compared to everyone else's. And spider Man is on that level when it comes to Marvel
