This song definitely doesn’t get enough love! The early route themes from Sinnoh are some of the most nostalgic tunes that I seem to forget about when I’m listening through the soundtrack to decide which tunes to arrange. This one really snuck up on me, and I was instantly struck with inspiration on how to turn this into a bop! This tune has honestly one of the best melodies I’ve heard, and I knew that I wanted to turn this into a crazy tenor sax feature! I have enough tenor sax features featuring myself on this channel, lol, so I decided to give it to Trace! He’s played on my channel once before (Snowy Valak Mountain), and is honestly one of the most amazing tenor players I’ve ever met. He rips! Plus, he plays on an orange mouthpiece :)

To be fair, most of sinnoh themes are already jazz, but to have a jazz arrangement of one of the few non-jazz themes is nice

Yeah that's true, but when hearing it tho my Huawei phone speakers i don't really hear the organ. I'll listen to it again with headphones, but that means it's not mastered correctly and i really dislike not having those sweet little bits to cross over to the next chorus for example

I've been a long time lover of Sinnoh Routes, 201, 203, 205, 206, 210, 216, they're all so good! Glad to see him giving them some love, especially these smear routes like this one

I haven't touched Platinum since 2010, and I could still hear the original track while listening to this. This is so nostalgic, and the year of Sinnoh means so much to me. Gosh I miss being a kid in the early 2000s

The thing that to me makes sinnoh music different is I’ve always felt like the music is having a conversation with me. I don’t know how to describe it other than that I think the instruments are each trying to tell me something

I agree, I basically grew up with this kind of music and always felt it was able to communicate feelings effectively without words.
Sometimes I listen to these without immediately recognising the route theme, but then the melody kicks in and I'm suddenly 10 again...

The year of Sinnoh inspired me to buy Platinum. Diamond was my second Pokémon game, way back 13 years ago, but I said “I need more Sinnoh”, and I think these awesome covers were a big part in that decision.

I know this probably doesn’t mean much (assuming if you’re reading this or not), thank you for bringing so many people to music/connecting them. I have a whole jam, and a bunch of us love Pokemon music! Route 203 is on our roster of things we play, including Anville town (we also love Gen IV music).
Route 203 is one of those routes you forget, but then remember its importance. Its literally the start of the game where it doesn't hold your hand as much, it just throws you into it a bit and says get a feel and move onward.

I'd never played this generation of Pokemon games before, but I started a playthrough of Platinum just because I knew you'd be doing this and I wanted some context. Context is - this is amazing, and what a soudntrack. Stunning like good arrangement, and amazingly strong playing from everyone, especially that rhythm section locking in the groove.

Another nostalgic essay? Perhaps. This is a tune that has stuck with me, despite the route being so short, I guess it's just that good. But the main thing I remember from this route is your first rival battle. Man, I played through Platinum with a good friend and named Barry after him. They acted pretty similar, too. Back in elementary school when my biggest worry was how to beat Gardenia with my team of Grotle because I only used my starter for some dumb reason. Although oddly by endgame I remember having a Staraptor and Luxray. Anyway, this cover just makes me think of the good old days. Yet here I am in college now. Why does this make me feel so old, man?

Actually IMAGINE if the Sinnoh remakes have orchestral covers and especially jazz like this. Imagine loading into the game expecting the usual sounds and arrangements of a Pokemon game and maybe some higher quality remixes of Gen4 tunes, yet being greeted with this grand and saxual nostalgia wave.

Every time I have heard this song in D/P/Pt, I would always imagine a nighttime expedition with the organ fill ins and other things. Listening to it as a cover makes it feel like I'm about to go on a drive on the interstate in the city. And I love long drives on the empty highway at night.

Every time I hear your covers, I remember how beautiful and simple my life was. It was a just me and my Staraptor exploring Sinnoh! I will always look fondly at Pokemon D/P for filling me with inspiration as a child. What inspired me the most was the music! I would play the game for hours and all I would do is walk along routes, listen to music, and enjoy the scenery. I will never take for granted the gift that pokemon (and video games in general) has given me. Thank you for this cover!
