I got the ride experience you described on Great White in 2016. Thankfully my 2021 rides had the lap bar in a more normal position for this type of train. There is some airtime to be had.
Ahh the Jersey shore. From first pumping at Karma, fist fighting at surf club, back to filming my awesome little hometown coasters. 🎥 Love this video Chris 🥃
This is a cool concept. I liked hearing about coasters that don't seem to get talked about much. I appreciate this more because I enjoy riding kiddie/family coasters and ranking them in my list rather than brushing them off. Sometimes they surprise you (like Whistle Punk Chaser). Sounds like you had a fun and hectic time! Also enjoy Boomerangs/SLCs if they're smooth, like the ones at Wild Adventures. But an intense SLC? 👀 Also the video was pretty funny, nice job!
Video enjoyed. Between New Jersey tolls and the individual costs for the coasters those expenses add up. Nor Easter and Galeforce will be on the list for my 2022 bucket list. I plan on doing a Cedar Fair tour beginning in the spring. Keep up the good work.
As a native New Jerseyean, the Wildwood tramcar goes “Watch the Tramcar please”. Also, you forgot to go to Point Pleasant, just up the road from Seaside Heights. Their spinning coaster is cute
I think the atmosphere beats out the coasters at the boardwalks for me but Gale Force & Hydrus, plus the overall quality of Morey’s piers is worthy of a trip
Galeforce is the only coaster I've ever ridden that I can't get back on immediately after. I've picked up a decent amount of major credits on the east coast like El Toro, VelociCoaster, and Mako, and I've been able to ride them multiple times in a row no problem. Galeforce makes me feel dizzy just by riding it once, and I'd probably get sick if I rode it twice in a row.
Love, love, LOVE gale force! It’s so thrilling and I forced my friends to go on it with me and they loved it! It’s so interesting and really makes your stomach drop at some points
7:10 It took me a little while to realise you were being sarcastic. Olympia Looping at Winter Wonderland was about £10, and Phoenix at Knoebels is $4.50.
I went to Wildwood with my family in 2011 when I was still afraid of roller coasters. To date, my only Jersey credits are Sea Serpent, Doo Wooper, and the now defunct Flitzer at Morey's. Back then, Flitzer and Doo Wooper were both in Runaway Tram's plot. Good to know DW sucks, I had no idea lol
I've been going to Seaside Heights (and as such, Casino Pier) my entire life. Totally agree that that 'Pirate' coaster should be dead last. Long ago (like, late-80s), there was the "Love Bug": basically the same ride, but at least the inside was totally in the dark (and there was a loud horn to give a jump scare at one point). Also, the theme was, like, totally psychedelic. I'd probably put Hydrus above Great Nor'easter, but it's close.
Gale Force is the one coaster that’s been the most difficult for me to get on, and it’s my most sought after. I mainly am only able to take long weekends off so it’s hard to justify the money to go to one super small boardwalk park. But I hope to get out there to do them all one day!
Good luck getting on Galeforce during the daytime; last time I went, that ride didn't open until 7pm. I'm guessing that's all due to staffing issues, so maybe in 2022 it will be possible. Until then, that's the one 'big' coaster I haven't yet ridden at the JS.
Your rant on stapling is so true tho. I went to Florida a month ago and paid an arm and a leg to go to Universal and ride Velocicoaster got a quick queue and got stapled everytime. Literally begged the ride opp the last ride to not staple me. She looked at me like a robot and stapled me. God damnit I just want my airtime!
As a local, thank you for this coverage. You also should’ve checked out some of the boardwalk food…manco/macks/macks and mancos/Mancos and mancos is the best pizza you can get on the boardwalk
I rode front row and I still got a couple wild ejector hills toward the end of Wild Waves. Those lap bars allow standing airtime on the last couple hills ngl
You need to buy the Morey's tickets over the winter. Normally there is a sale around Christmas and they are almost 1/2 price. We get the 250 tickets card for $150.00. Still not cheap but better than paying the summer rates.
I just rode the Gale Force for the first time this week. It was great! No line thanks to the offseason. It's an underrated gem that not many people mention. They could put these things anywhere it's so small, especially since they have the kinks worked out. Shame it's 10 bucks a pop tho lol.
Love this list! Glad you finally got to these parks. I loved the pirates hideaway bit, that thing is such a piece of junk. It’s a shame you got stapled on Great White bc it’s actually pretty solid. Also “Jillian’s” lol I’m pretty sure it’s pronounced GILL-ians, for future reference. Alright, long winded comment over.
You definitely need to re-ride Great White at Moreys!! Go for the back row and pray you don’t get stapled, the air time can be honestly rediculous. And thats coming from someone who’s favorite woody is El Toro. Got to ride Great White this year after a rain shower and it was HAULING
i go to wildwood every year for vacation. So I can attest to them caring for their rides. Nor’easter used to be horribly migraine inducing. The year they retracked it was the best ride I have ever gotten. Sea Serpent was always known for being a smoother boomerang. And Great White had some track work done over the pandemic, it was so much smoother this year!
I think if it’s possible putting El Loco model trains on Gale Force would be a great idea. You’ll get amazing airtime with those. El Loco at Adventuredome was pretty insane so with the crazy angles on Gale Force with those trains you’d be sent flying out of your seat
did you have to pay per coaster at wildwood? there used to be a pay one price wristband for unlimited rides on all 3 piers moreys pier, mariners landing and wheels.
These are the three Jersey Shore parks I'd have the most interest in visiting. I think I could do Casino Pier and Playland's Castaway Cove on the same day depending on how far apart they are from each other but I'd probably need a full day at Morey's Piers because it consists of three seperate piers and they have more things to do there than each of the other two piers combined.
Might as well check out the two crappies shore rides, Looping Star at Keansburg Amusement Park and Tidal Wave at Jenkkisons. Tidal wave is quite deceiving, it's a new SBF but welded by 9 year olds.
Hydrus and Galeforce are two on my list I want to ride. I'm still trying to get over the praise you were giving an SLC😂.....I usually have nightmares of SLCs after visting certain Six Flags parks.
Wonder why there haven't been anymore Gale Force models out there, unless I'm wrong and it's the same model as El Loco at Adventure Dome. It seems like it would be a good model to clone and stick in smaller parks, since it is a boardwalk coaster. Intense, small footprint, crowd pleaser... it looks like it has everything. And it's by S&S. If their freespins are anything to go by, they aren't afraid to produce a lot of the same model.
It’s not an el loco though. If any guesses, I’d say the trouble the coaster went through with the delay and the retracking, combined with Merlin’s Mayhem having similar issues lead to S&S getting a bit of a bad reputation going into the announcements of Steel Curtain and Maxx Force.
I haven't been to Casino Pier but I've been to the other 2 parks. My top 5 from the Jersey Shore would be: 5. Sea Serpant 4. Great Nor'Easter 3. Wild Waves 2. Great White 1. Gale Force *note, this trip wasn't just the Jersey Shore, I also did Adventurepark USA, Jolly Roger at the Pier (the only Ocean City Maryland park open), and Funland (no coasters but an awesome dark ride that's essentially a suspended version of Knobles Haunted Mansion and a Paratrooper with a very rare backwards setting and awesome views of the ocean). Wildcat at Adventurepark (formerly at BGW and Williams Grove Park, lots of awesome history) probably edges out Sea Serpant for me when ranking the whole trip, Morbid Manor (yes that's a credit) would take the #7 spot, beating out the other purely family coasters. As a dark ride, it sucks. You want a good dark ride, go to Funland. As a coaster though, gravity pretzels are rare and I rank it favourably. Painful thrill coasters like the Zamperla Windstorm at Adventurepark and Looping Star at Jolly Roger would probably take #8 and #9.
If you save Morey's Piers for a separate day, you can potentially hit all of the other Jersey Shore coasters in the same day. I almost did that one day during the week before Labor Day, starting from the North and heading South. There were a few missed coasters that were closed, but it still seems manageable if you focus on getting the coasters (and maybe a select additional ride or two). The vlog I recently posted ( ua-cam.com/video/x2JU9T5kIvw/v-deo.html ) shows the order I went for, and shares which coasters were hit and which were missed in case anyone is curious to know. - Gary
I was expecting a Jersey Shore reference sometime in the video due to the title, and sure enough, a few references to the show in the video, even though I’ve never seen it.
we were gonna go on hydrus on our vacation but no, it was really busy and my moms friend pissed her off so we went to new york. we caught a plane back and my dad took us to elitches.
One quick thing: next time you get to Morey's PIer, you *have* to do the log flume. IMO one of the best around!
the only log flume ive ever been on that had a belt driven dispatch system as opposed to a turntable. the ride itself is great 👍👍
My personal favorite one
its so long and it goes under the boardwalk
my personal favorite log flume is the one at knoebels
@juiceboxer100 it was open for me
I loved it!
Dang near read "Jersey hore" for a second
9:54 Morey's Piers loves stapling the heck out of riders on every ride. Even if you staple yourself, the ops will find a way to staple you even more.
Yes total agreement I went today and got so stapled on great white
I got the ride experience you described on Great White in 2016. Thankfully my 2021 rides had the lap bar in a more normal position for this type of train. There is some airtime to be had.

Best part of my Thursdays!! Airtime thrills!
I'm very fortunate to live on the jersey shore. Great adventure is 40 mins away too. Part of the reason I love coasters haha
Great video as always
Jersey is that place you wanna be, especially in Wildwood with a good beach as well as some great coasters
Well it’s still new jersey
@@spaggetijeff1229 the shore is completely drifferent feels like a different state
Yeah if you can't get to Utah Jersey is okay!
Jersey is that place you *don't* wanna be, lmao

You can get a wrist band at Morey's instead of paying for rides individually.

As someone who prefers wild and out of control rides, I reeeeeeaaaaaaaally wanna get on GaleForce
It's a fantastic ride! It feels think it's trying to toss you all the way out of the park, and probably would if it wasn't for the restraints!
- Gary
It’s really good, crazy transitions and ejector
9:05
It's still a boomerang... That's still damning by faint praise.
YES! MY HOME TOWN COASTER! Gale Force is an absolute beauty! I wish I knew you were in town! So glade you loved Gale Force!
7:10 It took me a little while to realise you were being sarcastic.
Olympia Looping at Winter Wonderland was about £10, and Phoenix at Knoebels is $4.50.
5:57 yeah, rcdb counts all relocations as new credits even if the coaster moves to another section of the park.
i saw that page, i honestly thought they just bought a second one
That’s weird
I went to Wildwood with my family in 2011 when I was still afraid of roller coasters. To date, my only Jersey credits are Sea Serpent, Doo Wooper, and the now defunct Flitzer at Morey's. Back then, Flitzer and Doo Wooper were both in Runaway Tram's plot. Good to know DW sucks, I had no idea lol
If you ever get back to Morey’s, definitely get a ride on the log flume. It’s probably the best one I’ve ever been on.
Gotta say, pinfari looping coasters will always have a soft spot for me (along with its many rough hard spots) as my first loop!

Good luck getting on Galeforce during the daytime; last time I went, that ride didn't open until 7pm.
I'm guessing that's all due to staffing issues, so maybe in 2022 it will be possible. Until then, that's the one 'big' coaster I haven't yet ridden at the JS.
Yeah thats exactly why i went to moreys first
It was open this past Saturday during the day.
I remember some great memories riding the Runaway Train at Gillian’s. I really miss that ride :,)

Id be interested in a video where you rank the Vekoma SLC’s, i like discovering the daimonds in that big rough
Thats a tricky one. Maybe ill make that a youtube short
Galeforce was the first coaster I rode after coming out of quarantine, and it was *great.*
"$25 to ride the ferris wheel, that's not bad" That is insane.
If you get the chance to go to Galaxyland, I suggest you make a video ranking the Triple Five coasters.
Great White definitely has air time when not being stapled however that first drop under the boardwalk literally hospitalized me lol
Very nice video and great idea. I might have to steal this idea for a future video. Let me know next time your in the NY/NJ area.

you should do which maufacturer has the best wooden coasters, RMC, Gravity group, CCI, GCI, shoot even intamin.

Maybe the next time you can add the 2 coasters at Jenkinsons in Pt. Pleasant Beach, Shark Escape and Tidalwave.
You could by the summer pass or the wrist band if you where going to moreys peir
I think playland should do something for Halloween like on a Hersheypark dark night scale with scare actors because of those crowds
I’m going to lagoon next month this park has pretty nice coasters
Nor' Easter surprised me when I rode it. Hate the Batman Ride at Great Adventure but Nor' Easter is one of my favorite coasters I've ridden

I bet more gale force clones will come out despite the trackwork problems it had initially
Great White on Adventure Pier in Wildwood is my favorite.
I’ve only been able to ride two SLCs in my life, and they both had the new vests restraints. Cant wait to ride the normal SLCs that everyone hates.
i've also only done 2. but i have the opposite problem, they were T3 and Flight Deck lol
Doo Whopper isn’t a Vekoma Mouse, it’s an L&T mouse. It’s the same mouse as the one at Six Flags New Orleans, and wild adventures.

It took me a solid minute to realize the thumbnail Jersey was a S, and it wasn’t Jersey Hore
Shore Shot on casino pier uses the same thing
The Situation edit had me screaming! That was funny
So FYI the Tram actually dates back to 1939 and was originally was at the NYS Worlds Fair
I'm from jersey but the only boardwalk park I've been to is steel pier. At least they have a solid wild mouse
I weep for you.

I love how some of these coasters legit look like what I made on rollercoaster tycoon to save space
i actually got to go on the runaway train at gillians wonderland pier its pretty decent
Totally sold me on skipping the Jersey shore. #1 hurting is pretty bad. At least they still have El Toro at inland.
went on the hamster wheel today at jersey shore casino piers, it was awesome.
Thanks for the dinner reminder
Shore Shot at Casino Pier had INSANE EJECTOR!!
Can u do a review of the jersey devil?

Which is better: Impulse (Knoebels) or Hydrus (Casino Pier). For me, they're VERY similar.
From my experience, hydrus is a lot smoother but yeah super similar rides
