EXCELLENT presentation Rocky! I have subscribed after watching just 3 of your adventures. I'm the guy with the 2004 F7 EFI Night Fire with only 800 miles. So glad to see the continued LOVE for those sleds, especially the beloved FireCat, after the sad news with Textron. Keep up your continued content, and I will look forward to the next one! 👍
I had a red patriot edition f7 I bought new in 03. It was an amazing sled. It was an absolute rocket. I seen 115 on the speedo on a long flat road. I put on 10,000 miles in 2 seasons on that sled and it was so much fun. I think it would be cool to put an old school cat ride together sometime. Keep bringing us the great old school cat content!
I had an 2003 F7 ( i think saber decal package) and an 04 F7 nightfire. They hauled on the trail for little700's but in the snow they trenched like nothing else. Its amazing the difference between 13.5 and 15 inch tracks.
I had a F5 back in 2005 and loved that sled. Super fast for a 500cc. Currently have a 2023 ZR 6000 and all though there is no comparing todays suspension the top end speed of the Suzuki 500 would walk my new ZR 6000. Awesome content
I have an F6 Firecat Sno Pro, I bought it used and have owned it for 14 years now, it has close to 7,000 miles on it but I can’t seem to let it go, it was my first snowmobile and I just really love it. I also have a 2012 F800 I bought brand new and I obviously love the crazy power that engine pushes out, it’s fun to beat the new 800 Polaris’ in a drag race but I for some reason still find that old F6 just to be more of an experience, I think it’s because I have to be at its limit all the time to keep up with others on the trail and she takes it like a champ.
Loved my firecats great sleds. Live in upstate NY 858’s selling very well here. Idk what the future of Arctic cat is can only hope that they will find a way.
Cat went out of business once before. After that they came back and built some of the best sleds in the business. I think they'll recover this time too. The industry needs competition to keep moving forward.
Here in the middle of Maine, trail sleds are in common use. I had a 2004 F7 Firecat SnoPro limited I got new. Loved that sled and enjoyed it until I lost it in divorce. I never would have sold that sled. Wish I had it still. Love your videos bud!
@OldSchoolArcticCats working on a ZRT 600 for drag racing and know a guy that has a 2001 and a 2002 Thundercats. Both have about 1200 miles on them showroom condition. I'm thinking I have to own them and probably going to race them also. Every firecat I find has been totally thrashed and not worth what they are asking so I have pretty much given up on finding one.
Perfect! Those ZRT 600s are incredible! F7s are hard to find in nice shape. I couldn’t belief I found 2 of them from the same guy in nice shape where I’m from..!
I'm an old school SkiDoo guy, haven't ridden sled for 30+ years but 2 years ago I bought an 05 Arctic Cat T 660 Turbo ST, and I just love the machine! Basically showroom condition. Beautiful trail sled, like riding a couch lol 😂 Handles great and rips pretty good!
WOW, I remember seeing that sled when it was first introduced at an Arctic show here in the NE. It was supposed to be a kick back look to the old muscle cars of the 60ies. RED with white stripes. One of the snow mags back in the day tested the top speed and PROVED that the Cat speedo was pretty accurate. 105mph on the sled, 104mph on the radar!
Totally agree with you on the double and single rail options I think that that would be a good seller because sometimes people don't want to dump 20 grand on a sled that they don't know what is like with the single rail. Keep up the videos and follow you're Passion with that. Zrt
The narrow track is definitely a handicap in the backcountry.😂 At least you have the ext tracks. I'm refreshing an 03 sno pro at the moment. Love the vids man! Merry Christmas 🎄
I have had a couple of f7s. But my favorite was the m7 162". Really ahsad of its time. Bought a pro climb chassie 2012 and didnt like it as much. Greets from sweden
I had a 2005 arctic cat sabercat 600 lx and it was terrible in anything deep, especially when it was wet snow. It would basically snowplow everywhere and get stuck if you lost Momentum. Those chassis's are definitely packed trail sleds.
I have 2 zrt hop 600 and hop 800 there 2000s then a 2002 zr 800 there all mountain cats I love them have two polaris 650 that turn into mountains cats and polaris 800 triple and 2 skidoo 800 triples love my triples
Rev 800 was Miles ahead, Firecat are good, but not Great! 😢 My last Cat was a 02' ZR600, In 2010 I bought a gen1 REV with the beaver tail delete... Other than keeping it cool on trail's, it was the best Sled I've ever ridden or owned! 😮
I have an '06 F6R. 128" is good for me on the trails of Wisconsin. It rips good, and with reverse, the conventional chaincase is my preference over the diamond drive.
My brother has an 02 Thundercat 1000 triple that is super clean. It has a longer track on it aswell, heavy but cool. Is that up at the sinks? I may have to come up there with my m1000, we haven't got any snow around slc yet.
@@jamesquaife5633 True it did make them fast, but definitely more tippy on the trail and less flotation in powder. I guess it depends on what matters most to you as a rider.
@@monsteryesExactly what I was thinking, people are paying $80,000 plus for a decently optioned quarter ton truck. $1000 plus monthly payments. The tech in snowmobiles today is reason for cost. Don't people pay that much for UTVs?
A newer seat fits on it well. The garabage can syndrome seat from the zr sucks. Unless you like to sit down and blow your back out all day. I still think the 700 was more powerful than the 800 non h.o 140hp. It sure pulled harder. Maybe that was weight. The narrow track is fast but sucks in any sort of powder. Fc,cf,m chassis still is the best looking cat to date imho. Was a tech at the one of oldest cat dealers around and i miss every minute of it. The skid frame is my only real gripe. Its kinda a piece of shit and costs alot to go thru. I remeber i did one on an f6 for a guy and it cost more than buying a different sled when it was all said and done....even putting a used track on!
I bought brand new a 2003 fire cat F7. The sweetest sled I’ve ever owned. It was so fast Arctic Cat geared it down for 2004. I put a mild clutch kit on it with the standard 128 track What really woke it up was installing a 2° advanced key on the mag side. 118 mph down the lake. Stupid me, I sold it 5 years later when getting divorced. I got a F1100 Limited in 2013. It’s nice, but nobody could touch that F7.

Had a 2005 f7 retro , great machine! Bought it new and rode it 3 seasons.

I still got 04 F7, 153 2 inch, fuel pressure regulator, pipe, over 10k , not easy kms on original engine, runs great

I love the firecats.
I literally had my 2002 thundercat at 100 mph yesterday.
That sled will be buried with me.
Bobby Hill😂 That's great 👍
The 700 motors were something... it seemed to run better the harder it was pushed . If Grandma-ed it around it wasn't happy.

The only thing I never liked about the Firecats was the narrow track. I liked the Crossfire better.
The narrow track was the reason for its speed others could dream of.
