Gibson Les Paul Standard 60's Faded | Knights in Vintage Cherry Burst Satin

- Do not confuse this Gibson Les Paul with lesser “faded” models from the past. These newly released faded models are full spec’d Gibson Les Paul 60’s guitars with uncovered humbuckers and a thin, satin nitro finish. There’s a lot to love here.

Your website says: "In store purchase only" for this and other LPs. Is that correct?
Due to some dealer restrictions, we aren’t able to have a “buy” button on online listings for Gibson- but we’re happy to help out over the phone or email!
These schmucks act like this isn’t a proper Les Paul. Hardly a positive thing to say lol. Absolutely great Lp’s. Out if 6 I own my 50’s faded is top notch.
Cherry burst is the name of the lsd they were on when they decided that this was a good color
I have owned, played and repaired many Les Paul’s! The satin finish IS a big deal! I own a ‘50’s Les Paul Std. Faded. It is LOUD without an amp! It is the BEST Les Paul I have owned! I have ownex four previously. I have played real ‘57’s, ‘58’s etc. These are AWESOME! As with ALL Gibsons they need a setup. I filed the nut, brought the action down a tad. It plays itself. It ate my PRS Core Custom 24!
Just got a 50s faded and LOVE it!
the heritage cherry sunburst "faded" top looks amazing ummm but the mahogany faded sides and back not so much it's just a bit too light in color and throws the whole thing off, just my opinion it looks too much like Milk chocolate to me lol Peace !
I wouldn't call this an entry-level les paul by no means..
I have played them both 50's and 60", 50's I think should have covers ..
Just as good as a glossed up standard
Sound wise , to me some of the standards are over finished they look like 50 coats of clear on them .
Each there own..
i just picked one up for $1750 (online, via sam ash), so here's hoping there aren't any problems w it!
Gibson knows how to get the colors on the LP just right, what’s sad is they just don’t unless you go up to the CS
Exactly they make it look crappy until you get to the top ones. Even the standard is hit and miss.
Schweet guitar but I am priced outta the Gibson market haha. Sire, Epiphany, Godin more in budget. Godin HT Summit Classic - Havana brown, anyone wants an affordable LP style guitar that rips. Give that a whirl!
"That's free." You're too generous 😀Nice guitar, great playing (as always). I am a fan of satin finishes so keen to check one of these out. I prefer 60's neck over 50's but the 50's Faded has a nice Honey Burst . . . decisions, decisions.
i dont think ive ever seen a more uninspired review of a guitar in all my life lol. you guys obviously hate that 60s les paul. good god, you couldnt be more lacklustre if you tried.
I like the faded look & feel too. Not a fan of the Back pu covers. Why didn't they do Zebra pu's? - isn't it just a matter of plastics? And if they didn't have Slim taper necks on that guitar, I'd might be more interested.
Buy the 50's version. It doesn't have a slim taper neck.

Basically, you’re paying $1,200 for the truss Rod cover that says “Standard”. Everyone knows the only “real” Les Pauls are Standards and Customs.
I’m just kidding on both, but in all honesty there are people who believe it.
As usual, Chris is right about the tone regarding satin or gloss. The difference in resonance on an electric axe is so minimal if you were blind folded you wouldn’t be able to hear a difference. I’ll mention this though from my own experiences…. Many times swapping out your bridge will indeed make a difference in resonance. I have a Gibson SG which sounded dead unplugged, I had swapped out the bridge actually to a Schaller one and it woke the damn thing right up strumming it unplugged, same thing also happened to a friends guitar as well.
Cool video guys! I do prefer the classic glossed finish on electric guitars typically myself, just personal preference, different strokes for different folks 🤙
Buy yourself an Eastman SB59 v
Dang, Cooper you make that guitar sing. You got tabs for that?
Gee, another boring LP, just like a million other boring LP's. What's next, a Strat that's exactly like every other Strat with some tweak or relic?
When will the guitar world finally evolve?
There are ‘modern’ guitars out there if you want them, such as the Music Man Kaizen. But most people just prefer LP’s and strats.
All very nice except the colour. Come on Gibson, you must know by now, the ultimate Les Paul looks like a Jimmy Page number 1 or 2 faded burst. I guess you save that colour for the Top of the range ultra expensive guitars, but come on it's only paint. And yes, I know they do another colour but it's way too washed out.
I am pissed at Gibson for only offering the "Unburst" on the 60's standard's.
I want a 50's standard but love that Unburst finish.
Tobacco or Bourbon Burst for me 🍷😎👌
Great review guys…Cooper, great riff man..Is that something you made up, or something else ? Would love to have the tab if possible…cant get it outta my head :-)
Merci les amis !! Toujours intéressant et instructif , pour un parisien comme moi
Welcome back
Just bought a pedal on Ebay from you guys. Great experience.
Welcome back Cooper.
Lowe price point yet still a grand more than an Eastman...
It needs zebra striped pick-ups
Thumbnail artist is on it with this one
That playing demo was nothing short of awesome! I own 12 Les Paul's...and until my recent purchase of the Greeny, i wouldn't even consider a satin finish. Now I'm in love with them. I wish i could post a photo of my Greeny, as it has the most insane top I've ever seen on any Gibson...a true anomaly in which i won the guitar lottery with...
I looked at greeny and I was going to press the button and then saw it was satin. I'm not sure if I could live with satin. Are you still in love with it? And how is that p/up configuration working for you?
@redduketeleman if you're asking if it's an awesome Les Paul...the answer is absolutely ! I've looked at the "Greeny offerings" lately and will say Gibson has not been offering great tops! Since the hype is toned down. When played, the satin nitro finish will gloss up, and you can buff them into nearly a gloss finish. I love the pup's, & will stand by with my favorite LP. For now anyway....
I absolutely HATE satin or matte finishes. What no one talks about is that, when they wear, where your arm or hand rests, they become "polished" and look glossy in those areas. The exact opposite of how a normal finish actually ages.
I also think on a classy looking Les paul with the figured maple top the satin or matte looks wrong on so many levels.
They are made to age quickly. If you like the aged look they kind of relic quicker. They also don’t don’t reflect light and feel a bit smoother to touch.
@@TimMilliken But they don't "age", they get glossy. The opposite of "aging".
So knock it down with some wood stripper? Idk?
@@TimMilliken Why would I pay hard-earned money for a guitar that i would have to strip and refinish???
Without a pickguard, LP looks like PRS-trynabee.
The bodies are so different. They're hollowed out in different areas and no speed knobs.
They don't even feel the same as the old Les Paul Standard
Love this guitar.. played it in store today... so expensive🥲. 2135€
