Today I finish the subwoofer box for Outlaw Garage's 1967 Corvette. This ported box will be hidden behind a trunk panel. The box must fit the designated area and it must have the proper internal volume and port size for OPTIMAL BASS!

Today I will drill the subwoofer mounting holes, install T-nuts into the woofer face, calculate airspace, find the proper port size, install the port, carpet the box then install a wire and terminal.

I usually use hurricane nuts and put a drop of Gorilla Glue on the bottom of the face to secure them. Either way, sure is nice to be able to remove and reinstall the sub without chewing up the wood and it looks a lot nicer.
All you need to go with that stash is a top hat and pocket watch ! Sir Soundman to the rescue!

I bet that port made it a pain to carpet up. Maybe toss that in last. Silicone it up inside and give it some twists to gunk it up good, and maybe offsetting the sub and put a 90 elbow in the pipe to keep it all inside if it's displacement doesn't eat too much air space from the sub. Keep the videos coming! Watched 3 ads typing this out!

Shout out to the camera man for not laughing into the mic every few minutes. I would ruin the video laughing all the time or shaking from laughing quietly or trying to that is. Anyway. Drilling a hole in a box after you carpet it usually ends up with the carpet wrapping around the drill bit screwing everything up!! If you run the drill in reverse while holding it on the spot you want the hole to be for a few seconds it usually makes it to where u can switch directions and drill your hole without it catching the carpet!! Just another way to doit if you shall choose to is all. Thanks to whoever read this far i appreciate you and have a great day or night!!

With win isd, if u go vented it calculates the vent but u then have to subtract the volume of the port from the volume of the box to see the response ....?, or that's how I understand it .😊

love your show! i have a question about building a box for my JL10w7 i'm hoping to use it in my boat in place of a seat that blew out. LOL. is there an enclosure that would sound good just sitting on the ground? maybe ported aimed back towards the engine cover or something. do you have any enclosures that you stock and sell or plans that can be purchased for the DIY guy?

I traded 2 old 12s in for a db drive 800 RMS 8 inch in a sealed with a 1500.5 nemesis and It sounds so much better
