I do love the fact you have a local accent ,I have the Lancashire Geo on chellington and it hardly ever rains I’m thinking the moder hasn’t been anywhere near the North of England haha
One suggestion i would make is to save a copy of the map folder in a different location before editing the map. If you mess up the map you are editing too bad and can not or do not use undo you have an original backup and dont have to re install the map or the entire game if it is an original game map. I learned that the hard way. You can also make a copy and edit the copy instead and save it as mapnamev2 or something to use it as a comparison.

this is nice and all, but how do i get the map im currently playing on with all the items i placed ingame, into this editor to make changes? so i just edit the map state from that specific save and not the map itself? somehow the game saves terrain state and objects to my savefile and so i should be able to load that into GE without changing the core map file from the game data folder... but i cant figure out how to load these states or settings in GE
also if you want to move around faster you can hold the left shift key and use wsad. if you hold the left shift key you can also delete multiple things at once

I was wondering if you knew how to add sell points into a map from other maps like bale sell point crop sell point wool etc. or even how to take a trigger for cows straw and put it into another map? plus buildings as well man? great video mate. you could show people how to either use easy dev controls or even using notepad++ (to edit like tractor hours or days of usage)? i like the idea of this series mate. and one last thing i was wondering how you get the player conversations into your roleplays like daggerwin does?
All really good ideas, thanks. regarding sell points and triggers, you can add in your own triggers for sell points or you can extract the sell point and create a placeables mod to use in other maps but it's a little more in depth. I've done this for my roleplay a couple of times. To make the conversations I use templates I've set up then edit in over the audio, if that makes sense 👍

I followed this turtorial with the FS22 County Line map to remove a farmhouse - farmhouse number 2 in the northeast side of the map way on the top to the right of the map I was able to remove the house and saved it, and when I went back in game all the trees are now white ? Do you know why this would happen ? Thanks

Hope you don’t mind me asking this random question but when I go into any map and go to contracts there never is any ploughing contracts just cultivation ,or do I have to activate something else I’m playing on normal and seasons thanks 😊
Looking for some help. I followed your steps once and it worked fine, but after I’d been playing on my new edit, I realized I wanted to make some new changes, (just deleting dirt road sections as they were too rough). I deleted them in GE and saved, then zipped it back up and placed in my mods folder as before, but the changes don’t show up in game, as if I never made any changes the second time around. Any advice would be great
Try testing it out on a new Save with just the map to see if it's the save game. I'd be surprised if it is but I've not had this issue before. Has Giants editor been updated since the first time you made changes ?

Hi. I keep trying to do this with chellington Valley. When I double click the .I3d file it opens giants editor but then crashes and closes 2 mins later tried doing it by opening giants editor first then opening the map in then and the same thing happens then any help?

how do you remove the animated doors and the lights on buildings? I have removed some buildings on a map but I can't seem to find ANYWHERE to remove the lights and moveable doors/gates that now hang in the air?
They will be on the left hand side, it depends on the map and how it was created by the Author. I'd tab through untill you find it highlighted if your unable to select it
so i am trying to do this on the WestTexas map and even if I click check for the File Name Extension, it still wont show any with .i3d. only shows .xml
It depends, if the door is separate to the shed then yes you could remove it. If it's one whole prefab then it would remove it completely. But you could always then put your own shed in game that's better suited 👍

I have a problem with a map's parked cars. I was able to remove them and everything is great, yet all gates around buildings, some concrete pads, and literally EVERY SINGLE TREE is white. I did not change anything but delete the parked cars. Any advice?
Can this method be used on savegame files? I’ve accidentally flattened a few road signs and they never recovered. I’d like to use the editor to stand them back up. 🚏 Oh! And delete teeny annoying grass clippings left behind in places the forage wagon can’t reach. 😅

It can be demanding, if you are running the most latest version of the giants editor, which I guess you are then try opening the software first and pressing file, open then open the map i3d that way. And wait for it. Hopefully it won't close down 👍

Hi there was wondering if you could assist - have done this many, many times on a few different maps to either remove things completely or to move some stuff around, but the map i am currently playing on(bessybeneath) has this cluster of milk jugs i think they are right in the middle of a plain, flat area. They show up ingame but when i open the map up in GE they aren't there... I've clicked around in the general area of where they are to see if anything comes up but nothing(this has successfully worked in the past where I've taken out a gate but left the trigger behind) Any ideas? Thank you in advance!
@@Scroft they are down by the bga plant, on the flat grey area. There is supposed to be a milk selling point there but I've managed to remove all but those jugs as I'm not going to be doing milk on this map. Thank you for having a look!
There is a bale trigger blocking them, if you try to delete them from the other side you can get them. delete the bale trigger first. also, delete exactfillrootnode then the jugs can be selected. they are in husbandrycowsmall, visuals, milkcontainers (bottom one) then there are 6 to delete 👍
when I extract it to the file I don't see Mod Map i3d sirestu from there to me it is unzipped only: foliage, maps, seasons, defaultitems.xml, defaultVehicles.xml, icon.dds, map_preview.dds and modDesc.xml What can I do?

Except it doesn't really work like that evrytime I remoe a building the mod won't load I hate these stupid videos where they say it works so easy but you do what they say and it doesnt
Hey JB... it works fine for me on FS19. Which is what this video is for. And it's helped a lot of people. I've done some more for fs22. And they have also helped people. My guess is you're not doing it right because I do this weekly for my series, and I've never had that issue. But because your comment is just rude, you can find help elsewhere. Have you ever come across an issue with opening an i3d? Im trying to edit GrayStone, when I try to open the map file, it just closes Giants Editor..
There is actually a mod, called MAP OBJECTS HIDER. This does most of this. Without exiting the game!!!

I'm not sure it can be done unless you actually create a prefab to insert into a map like the map creators do 👍

after you delete the 6 milk containers there, delete the sub group they were in
on the website which one of the downloads did he use because there are so many for me
