Nothing like setting top of high mt. For hours in peace And quiet the wild animals & only your self. Or trout fishing where maybe see 1 person every 3 or 4 days. Fix nightly the native brown trout we have on open fire in cast iron skillet. Get away from larger cities even the air smells so much better & fresh than anywhere else I ever been.

Beautiful video!!! Every fall I drive from Wheeling to the bottom of the state to capture our states vibrant leaf colors, attend festivals, go hiking, and eat delicious food. When I return from another state or country I light up upon seeing our state's scenery. Breathtaking:)

I'm from switzerland and i know that west virginia is clearly not a terrible place. I know you have some economical issues but apart from that you live in one of the most beautiful, peaceful places in the world. Charming little towns, huge forests, stunning hills, clear rivers, friendly people, good food and a lot of history and culture. I enjoyed my visit years before so much. It was very relaxing :) I think this is the purest state in america. I heard you are making a lot of progress in the state. All the best to you!

It's is truly beautiful, the mountains are magical and beauty of wv and Virginia has also a beautiful towards the beach's and coastal like feel so I have say there both have there own beauty and magical about them
Its all matter of perspective, personally I love the rugged terrain, waking up hills and the beautiFul rocks in the rivers and the wonderful mountains. If west Virginia were its own country, they would be one of the richest, just off of coal reserve alone, not to mention natural gas.

Beautiful video highlighting the best of West Virginia. But from my travels there to whitewater canoe, I have seen horrible pollution that turned ditches into orange troughs dumping unknown substances into the waterways. The mining industry was been left unaccountable for the devastation to the natural environment.
They pumped the area so full of oxycotin and Xanax, took away the coal mines I feel for the people there
@@mjryan2590 That orange substance your talking about is sulfur from the coal mines, high sulfur coal mining was banned in eighties. The town I live in growing up was like that, plus the whole town uses septic system so the creeks were just terrible. The mining there stopped sometime in the 1950's, recently during the Obama administration they started strip mining again. The interesting part is that when I became an adult life came back to the creeks, frogs, toads and musk rats living in then, im sure that nature will reclaim the creeks in another ten years, and even fish will be found there. The one river near by, the loyal Hannah, was at one time just like that, we would ride out there on our dirt bikes with my father and cool off in the river. My father told me when he was my age that river was as orange as the creeks in our town, and if you went into the water you would be stained Orange, from sulfur. I'm here to tell you that nature can and will come back to those areas.
True. First they cut all the timber - around 1900. Then came the coal mines and strip mining. Now gas drilling and pipe lines. This should be the richest state in the nation but it is one of the poorest. We do have natural beauty if you overlook the scars.

Ive been to west virginia. Believe me this video aint a joke. Im here for a reason. Ever since i visited that state its taken a big piece of my heart. I want to go back and im thinking about moving there. Its like an entirely different world over their. I sont feel so tense.

I'm from Florida, visited my sister who lives here in Fall 2018 and fell in love immediately, came back in Fall 2019, met the woman I'm soon to be married to and we both moved up to WV in Spring of 2020, I've been to many states and nothing quite like WV. Unfortunately we had to move back to FL for personal reasons but I will certainly be moving my life back to WV one day. The most beautiful place and people from the outside wouldn't understand

Born in Ohio County and lived in Brooke County in the Northern Panhandle. This makes me so homesick. I haven't been home since 2017 and I miss it. There's no state in the country like WV.
