A while back, I did a call-out for questions and I was so overwhelmed with everything you wanted to know that I had to split my response into 3 videos.
In this video, I will be answering a batch of questions I got asked here on UA-cam. Enjoy, Rx.

00:14 - "What is the reasoning behind the different caps on your bottles?"
00:59 - "With continuing effort to limit the use of certain ingredients in fragrances over last decades, what are your plans going forward and do you think companies will eventually setup spin-off brands to allow them produce non-IFRA compliant, old formula versions of their creations (including your own)?"
03:11 - "We often see when people first get into fragrance, they go for something mainstream like Invictus or Sauvage. But those who continue developing their taste in fragrance, often go more into niche over time or a lesser known designer-fragrance. But why do you personally think that people end up finding their favorite as say an oriental fragrance? (While others might end up liking a fougere the most). In short: Why do we like the fragrances we do?"
05:10 -" I found it interesting when you taught us about the newer CO2 extraction used on rum for capturing boozy notes. What have been some natural absolutes that you’ve only recently discovered or other natural derived notes that are exceptionally unheard of and have you considered incorporating any into future work?"

21:04 - "My question is about a very popular topic with scent influencers - "Over spraying". As someone renewing her love of wearing perfumes, I have always simply sprayed on my pulse points. I believed I learned that was the way to wear perfume, but when I hear others (particularly in social media) discuss great "silage" or the fact that they get several compliments a day - from strangers and friends both - from their perfume, I realized that has rarely happened to me. Am I not wearing enough? My routine is 3 or maybe 4 spays. Is there a "rule" of how and where to wear perfume?"
22:41 - "There notes for each stage that the perfumes unveils (top,heart,base), why we usually see specific notes in particular stages, for example, bergamot (top note) and agarwood (base note)? I'm on my second discovery set. Haven't bought a full bottle yet.
Look for a perfume community. Very often they share perfumes. Like this you can have small samples of many perfumes without havibg to spend a lot of money.
Thats just lazy excuse to me. There are plently of options for atleast 40% cheaper sales/discounts. Thats definietly not cheap still, but affordable for almost everyone i think. In the end if you really want something, there is always way to get it.

It really is a credit that a man of your calibre is so outwardly active in the community. I’ve only begun collecting your fragrances and it has already become the catalyst that I would start a fragrance photography related Instagram page.. and now I am considering to start a review channel on UA-cam. I don’t like to make comparisons because people are unique, but you remind me of a legendary figure in the high end supercar community.. outstanding in his talent, yet always out amongst the people. I haven’t had a sense of smell my whole life, at least none that I can perceive and tell the difference between objects. However I still feel a confidence boost when wearing a fragrance and have bought 25 of them! 2 of them are from you, Elysium cologne and enigma Parfum and they certainly seem to be special. Appreciate your hard work and wish you continued success!

Another wonderful video Roja! Oodles of gratitude for answering our questions. 💛 Incredibly glad to hear that there is another optimist out there with an encouraging view of our collective future. It really does bring joy to my heart. Very interesting regarding the IFRA question too, and particularly about how proper labelling could help alleviate some of the reformulation strain.
In response to the preference question, I think it's possible that the answer lies in our subconscious associations that are oftentimes programmed in our youth, during times of great emotion or as part of our individual ontological journeys. These associations ultimately surface as conscious predilections that subtley lead us in particular directions either toward or AWAY from stimuli, especially when the sense is so intimately tied to our emotional centers as in olfaction. In essence, we like the things we do because of who we, and others are constantly programming us to become on a subconscious level. The outcomes can affect everything from our relationships to our diet, unexplainable illnesses, personality habits and our response to stress. Really is a fascinating field of study.

Sadly I ran out of Sweetie Oud recently…but I have kept the empty bottle and treat myself to a hit on the residual scent left every now and then. I’m now rationing the residue 🥲🥰

Mr Roger, really enjoy your straightforward facts and thoughts. I’d like your thoughts on the perfume ingredient BHT. I’ve known it to be a food preservative, and it’s generally thought to be cumulatively harmful to the body, but am curious as to its use in perfumes. Trying to stay away from it so am even more drawn to your highest-quality products. So what’s your honest opinion of why it’s used and if we should beware of using products with it excessively? Thanks for your time and consideration.

It really was quite awful, I felt completely powerless.
I haven't used Lotus, no. But my next endeavour has a really interesting new flower note that I really enjoyed exploring... Rx

Mr. Dove, how about a fragrance for the car that you can hang on the ventilation and smell its very hot scents every time. No plans to discontinue the 7.5mls, for now.

I am a perfume collector and this video appeared to me and I wanted to tip my hat to your masterpiece called oceania because in my humble opinion this perfume destroyed all the citrusy perfumes except for some I will not mention but this perfume I tested in a The Gulf’s hot weather is at a temperature of 46, and it has succeeded by 99.9%.
most importantly it smashed
two famous perfumes, which I will not mention either, out of respect for some, and many may guess about them

Hello! Im very late with my question😅😅. Ok- i hope you answer questions about other perfumes than yours😅😅. Your creations are just out of reach for me unfortunately. I bought 2 different vintage Bottles of Opium. A half bottle of the 1977 eau de parfum and a full bottle of the 90s gucci ppr Version. Oki doki.. sprayed them on my arm and the 90s Version seemed to be the most horrorful garbage i ever smelled. It was sharp,hard,synthetic and like a fake perfume to me. The other one was deep,soothing,erotic,warm,embracing.....anyway.. i gave the original one to my mom because she want it for soo long and i had the cheap crap bottle. When i smelled on it yesterday it seems like the scent has completely changed. It smells so great and divine and i dont know how that came and why i smelled so wrong last time??? I loove this one truly. But to put a Sprayer as big as a fire extinguisher on a bottle that beholds a strong and powerful scent was not a good idea from gucci. Hard to apply 🤣😂🤣😂. Hi there , First of all I wanna thank you for making such great video. I started DIY perfum at home about 1 year ago, at first I just used essential oils blend + DPG + alcohol but after making so much combinations and experiment I realized that I have to find ways to improve performance of my sample so I ordered so many chemicals from the internet but there is problem I cannot find a list or any description about each one and how to use or why to use , Is it possible for you to help me for this issue if I send their names?

Dear Doja! I want to buy a perfume from you, but I have to smell all of them released! I can't afford to blindly buy full bottles, without knowing the smell of each one! Please, help me, to send me free samples of 2 ml, so that I can find out their smell, so that in the end I can choose one signature for myself??! @@joshharries3982 My theory is that Roger Bird is the creative director not the perfumer for Roja Parfums. I think he works with actual perfumers like Pierre Bourdon for example who is a perfumer that has made perfumes for Creed in the past for example. If my theory is correct I would like to see the perfumer get credit instead of Mr Bird implying he is the creative director AND perfumer. I love Roja fragrances, I own 6 full bottles and 16 discovery atomizers so I am not putting him down just nudging him to try & do the right thing and disclose who the perfumer he is working with on these creations is so he or she can get the credit they deserve. And if I am wrong I will eat my words. There are less classically trained perfumers on earth than there are astronauts. No self taught perfumer just creates Diaghilev or Danger pour homme. I even bought Rojas 500 dollar book so I am a fan of the man and I think he an extremely imprortant figure and character in the history of perfume but i dont think he is the perfumer behind his creations. Working with a team of people to create a fragrance as a creative director and being a perfumer like Alberto Morillas or Pierre Negrin are two completely different things. Sorry for the long reply .. replying more to the thread and future readers. 🤷♂️
You telling us you have this so called ”theory” is just a bunch of bullshit and you know it. If it was a ”theory” then your original question would go something like this ”I have a feeling that you’re not the sole/actual perfumer behind your fragrances, can you please let us know if you have any other perfumers involved in the creation process.” Instead you made it sound as if it was an actual fact which you have a proof of. Effing rude, if you ask me. Oh and by the way, he’ll never tell anyway. So you know what do with your ”theory” 😉

Tried Elysium few times. Really wanted to buy as my summer signature, but I was disappointed by the performance every time. Such a shame.
Why such an injustice?
Those who bought the fragrance when it first came out got good longevity and sillage.
And then you change the formula and people who did not have time buy a completely different fragrance.
Its not fair.
This reminds me of the following quote by Edward Abbey: "To the intelligent man or woman the world is infinitely interesting and mysterious, but the stupid have an answer for every question."
