Indie perfumer here. I absolutely love and adore fragrance. It is a goal of mine to be as successful as these masters. Great work and well said on all accounts. Perfumery is an everlasting learning journey. There is so much to know. New techniques, new combinations, new materials. I love being able to do this everyday of my life. It isn't a job. It's a passion, and I feel blessed everyday to be able to share it with the world.
When a baby is used to the cologne of mother, baby is taken to caregiver and she applies mother's cologne to fool the baby she is still with mom. Olfactics is powerful.
I work in a hotel and smell a lot of fragrances that people use. Nothing is more boring than a fragrance you know somebody is wearing and on the other hand, if someone uses a fragrance, that smells overwhelmingly great that you have never smelled before, this is one of the most impressive effects one can have on other people. and all he has to do for that is just a few sprays. actually, this is what being a fraghead is all about. the search for the perfect fragrance in that regard.
So great that the perfume fragrance industry and the designers releases more and more the “secrets” of the craft en art of scent making. Especially on the topics of sustainability and health safety.
6 years late lol. It was almost definitely Red Door. It's a brutal "classy mum" perfume that he made. I remember putting up with it on my mum as a kid.
@@0joeyw Thank you my friend :) I’ve actually been sourcing fragrances for mum and it’s nice to know the effect when in room/family setting. I’m sticking with light notes now to save us all. #BlessingsToYou.
These days many people claim they have adverse physical responses to scents. Perhaps an allergy that produces headaches or breathing problems, sneezing things like that. I wonder has the perfume industry had to be more aware? Or not? It seems as if fragrance has gone from a pleasant thing generally to something that causes perceived bad reactions in some people. Multi chemical sensitivity is a syndrome many people claim to have that they feel is harmful. Now I have always loved perfume and my mother wore it daily. I have had experiences like once I was in university in the NW in winter and I suddenly smelled pikake I followed my nose all the way to the professors office door and hanging there was a pikake lei. For those of you who don’t know pikake is a Hawaiian flower that is creamy white small flowers and smell is simply intoxicating! It’s different perhaps more delicate than tuberose but is only in season for a few months a year. So to smell real pikake in Seattle in January for me was a real thrill. I go through phases of scents and own way too many bottles of perfume. But I love smelling a great perfume!
Your post (over 4yrs ago,) about a scent and a gentle smell kind of like tuberose has me intrigued. I was recently in Maui, and oh my goodness! The flowers, the dew just dripping off them, I was in heaven. However, tuberose can be quite strong. A lighter scent that smells like it would be lovely. 💖
Since its creation in 1973, the IFRA, which is financed by scent makers such as Givaudan, New York-listed International Flavors & Fragrances, and Germany's Symrise, has restricted natural ingredients for a range of health reasons, from worries about allergic reactions to cancer concerns. That’s the post.
Fragrances just don’t have the same weight, quality, longevity, projection, they’ve all been watered down by IFRA. People born recently might not realize it but only recently due to these regulations have fragrances lost most of their potent power. If you purchase a fragrance in the 80’s or 90’s it would last all day. Same exact fragrance purchased today you will barely smell on your skin after an hour. All the natural musks. And nitro musks are long gone, look at the ingredient list on the back on boxes. Used to only have several ingredients, now there are maybe 20-30 chemical names listed on the backs of perfume boxes, because its all synthetics.
I wonder, if music is stored in a separate part of the brain- that diseases like dimentia & Alzheimers cannot destroy, is scent the same? Or similar? I'd be interested to see studies on this.
Trust me, as a perfumer myself, I completely agree with you. It is such nonsense. I am in the EU, which is even worse that IFRA, if you can believe it.
True even the Oud/Agarwood they're using are fake. Checkout my channel about our real Agarwood, the Oud trees are over 200 years old on our family private inherited lands for generations
I know this was years ago, but can you tell me what IFRA is, and why they have ruined the perfume industry? Perhaps I will not buy products they make/support. I may sound ignorant, I just don't know.
No! Full list of ingredients, chemicals used in a product must be listed for safety purpose. In USA there is still the Trade secret regulation and every country manages this matter in different ways, different laws....at least the chemicals or also natural substances considered allergenic must be listed clearly.
I want s fragrance of new beginnings...start over...deep cleanse...detox...hate to say fresh because they come up with clean blue linen...or sea algae...nahhhh... do over
Yah true. The original smells dated like pine trees in a forest, nothing unique or masterpiece about that if you live near trees and smell that all the time.
Kindly remove females and music from video not allowed in Islam Read Quran ALLAH your creator is talking with you: Chapter 2:Verse 21 O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous. Read Quran and Follow Islam because no salvation without Islam
Girl, the world is not going to stop and acquiesce to your strict ass over bearing religion. That's fine if you want to hide your women and feel shame, but I'll be God AND Allah DAMNED if you're here to tell others how to live. You got your land, your culture, your people, your good. Stay in your lane. That's the problem with religions. You all want all of us to accept it. No.
Jesus is Lord, females have rights, and music is beautiful. This video wasn’t created in an Islamic country, so why should it conform to your personal beliefs?
It is not about gender, but talent. The best should be the most popular. Plus, there are plenty of famous female perfumers, some of the best and legends in the industry. Just to name one, Annick Menardo should ring a bell. Inform yourself first.
Perfume and fragrance make many ill, in head ace, migrane, breathing problems (lung diseases like asthma, copd as), runny nose and eyes, skin problems and so on. Not so nice. This is a bad an unnessecary buisness.
Then those people should stay away from it. When people with opinions such as this are in positions of power it wreaks havoc on the freedoms of the masses. There was a British bureaucrat who wanted the entire industry of perfumery banned. Somehow these nutty people with illusions of power tend to gain access to positions of power where their neurotic ideas hold sway.

This is why I don’t know why lazy consumers just opt or settle for the most popular fragrance. Why would you want to smell like her ex boyfriend

Just started so i really judge anyone, or regulatory body. But i love the art of perfumery. Its just great ❤.
They give you confidence. It’s almost like when you dress up for Halloween put make up on it transforms you almost almost time traveling.

IFRA? You are only MAFIA.

So, reformulation is due to IFRA or money? Sometimes they release an "intense" version and water down the original.
