I love reading all your comments and seeing all the questions you come up with, and so I am trying to answer them as often as I can with these little videos.

Why thank you so much! I am so glad to be able to have a direct line of communication to you all. I love seeing what everyone has to say, and discovering what people are curious about when it comes to perfumery, and I am so glad to be able to help try and spread a little wisdom. Clearing some time in my schedule for this type of work is a pleasure to do, as I genuinely enjoy it so much. It is a nice break from the seriousness of running a global business. I would love to make perfumes from the flowers in my garden - roses, lavender, geraniums, galbanum....I agree with you on the jewellery question - it goes hand in hand with with perfumery. They are there to enhance ones personality.

A really engrossing Q and A. The more I see and read about Roja, the fragrance and the man the more respect I have for his passion and style. I'm new to the fragrance world and have only a few bottles in my collection. I'm really enjoying the fragrance community on youtube and am becoming rapidly addicted to perfume as a distraction from the grind. I haven't had the pleasure of sampling any Roja scents. But have just realised my work office is around the corning from Burlington arcade. I know where I'll be wandering during a break. Wonderful!

Very good answers about perfumes. Now i order my elysium (parfum cologne or fruity doctor office as they said, i don't care) and enigma ( little bit coca cola smell). Thank you sir about the good answers.

I want to thank you sharing your invaluable knowledge about perfumes and creating them. Your opennes in this field has lead me to create many well balanced creations myself.

Their tends to be a bit of over lap between perfumery and pharmacology. As a joke I mentioned to my cousin who is a doctor in order to be heart smart and thin out your blood drink a bottle of perfume. Little did I know he had a patient that used to drink old spice everyday, still alive and well classic haha.
I'm rewatching this for the third time, and I was just thinking, have you ever made a perfume that you sold and didn't love? Perhaps a bespoke one for a customer with very different taste to yours? Or one that surprised you with positive reactions from people? Any one that comes to mind immediately?
I would say the old version NuWa... which is why there is a new version (released 2015 I believe). The initial fragrance just wasn't how I wanted the creation to smell and so I changed it. Rx

Which is your best oriental fragrance for men?
In matching a personality with a scent, can you have overlaps? i.e. one personality matching both chypres and orientals?
That's so difficult to say... in a way it is like asking someone who their favourite child is. I spend so much time crafting each fragrance and will only bring it to the market when I am 100% happy with it... and they all have their own distinct personalities. I would have to say that my personal taste is a bit more inclined to favouring Chypre's, but if I had to choose an Oriental I would probably say the Parfums De La Nuit Collection. They are bold and sexy and have such huge personalities. I find them to be great fun and really really exquisite Orientals.
I think when matching scent to a personality, you can for sure mix-and-match and/or overlap, for perfumery is so varied and nuanced and individual, just like how our personalities are. For some, a "floriental" might work better than an Oriental, and some, a Parfum-Cologne like Elysium might be better than a straight-up Fougere, as it has the weight and depth of a pure Parfum. The same goes for a Chypre - you might find that it seems a bit like an Oriental, like my own scent 'ROJA' is - it is a Chypre dressed up in Cashmere, I like to say. Similarly if you look at Chypre Extraordinaire, it has this huge floral element that is unique to a Chypre, as it has swathes of Tuberose in it, so it becomes a little floral. I would say just find the scent that you smell, close your eyes and involuntarily go "MMMMH", and think "this IS me!". That is the one!

That’s not the whole truth, you discontinue a perfume because some or even just one ingredient is either not available anymore, has become illegal or the price has gone up a lot.

After smelling some of the most exclusive and expensive fragrances pure oud oils extraits exclusive releases three fragrances remain at the top haute luxe diaghilev and great Britain all are perfect fragrances Luca turin lost all credibility to me when he poorly ranked your offerings your creations dont just smell good they smell majestic opulent dominating polarizing you know whenever i need a little pick me up i spray one tiny squirt of diaghilev and it takes me to another place thankyou sir your creations are unmatched and truly in a league of their own
