I got that the Agincourt minis were from Perry Brothers, but what about the US Rangers arms and bits? Is it Perry Brothers, Wargame Atlantic, Warlord games?
Note for novice kitbashers: Perry Miniatures not only sells whole kits, they also sell many individual sprues separately. Usually the command sprues, though they also have other things. It's all under their Plastic -> Accessories tab. Really useful for getting small amounts of bits you might need, especially for projects that blend historical eras (like Trench Crusade, Silver Bayonet, or Turnip28).
Many thanks for posting this, yes the Perry's have a whole plethora of historical kits which we've found to be super good value for money 😀 Luv Mrs Peach 🍑
Mrs Peach please let your husband know he looks fetching in that hat and did a wonderful job with the kitbashes! I really need to get some of these minis to give it a go myself…
Thanks Peachy for changing my opinion towards skirmish games. Working full time with kids, a 2000pts army just isn't on the card and being able to dip into loads of different themes and styles to build warbands has rejuvenated the hobby joy. Also purchased my first non-GW kits to kitbash my Trench Crusade warband, so here we go!
That’s awesome to hear, both the kitbash with your first non gw kit, but also trying more skirmish games is also super cool to hear, oddly I’ve found I’ve painted more stuff since just keeping to skirmish based stuff than I ever did when I painted full armies etc. But I get to scratch a whole ton of itches now. Cheers again Peachy
I like the idea that a Trench Crusade heavily armoured infantry super human is also carrying some tea and biscuits in pouches on his back for his mates.
@@PeachyTips Absolutely! There could be a „Tea Break“ Special Rule added to the turn sequence. So, after a particulary gruelling afternoon fighting skirmish battles in the trenches, both Players roll a D6 and if they get the same result, stop the Chess Clock (in honour of Saint Rob the Honest Wargamer) and have a nice tea and biscuits break. And as Corporal Peachy Peach would say: „Right lads, that‘s enough burnin‘ those bloody heretics and daemon buggers for now. Put kettle on and - ohh, Jammy Dodgers - lovely.“
OMG!!! He does! That’s a very useful observation especially seeing as I’m doing Star Wars meets medieval minis…..heavily inspired by the artist Jake Bartok
Trench Crusade really does seem like a kitbashers dream. Great tutorial as usual Mr Peach, a really good smooth entry into kitbashing! Maybe a video on some basic green stuffing (cloaks, basic fur and chainmail) is the logical next step for Trenchy kitbashes?
Stoked you're covering kitbashing for TC. When I read they were encouraging kit-bashing and 3rd party models (even licenses for them) I was sold. Setting is a bit odd for me, from what Ive read so far the lore really separates itself from real-world events and if you dropped 1 or 2 design choices like the german and british style helmets I'm not sure you'd even know it was WW1 based on aesthetics at all. I dig the offical models, I'd like to see them physically cause the details look very small on some. Also that one particular nun model I think is a bit lame as an official model in 2024. I'll be kitbashing for this also soon, very excited and the success is wicked for our industry.
Initially I was a bit concerned that the heretic legion troops looked like Germans, you know the classic bad guys, ww2 aside their politics were no different than any other nation in ww1, but it pans out the new Antioch stuff has things like prussians etc within it, so Germans being the bad guys again wasn’t at all the case.
Kitbashing is easily my favourite part of our hobby. I tend to always head swap my commander models to make them uniquely mine. My favourite from many years ago was a Slaanesh daemon prince converted from a spare possessed head and the Necron shard of the deceiver c’tan sadly that model is long gone now. Great to see you in the festive spirit too (love that you mentioned everything except the hat on your head)!😂 Finally, it’s such a good cause you’re supporting Peachy raising awareness like this truly can save lives. ❤
I’m well sad to hear about the slaaneshi daemon Prince! Love slaanesh too so I feel ya. And it’s an honour to support such great charities, I hope I can raise a bit to help.
For what it's worth, I've been using a 'cutting toward myself' approach with carving elements that I've used Milliput or Apoxie Sculpt on. I find that what I am doing is a VERY gentle curling of the fingers holding the knife handle, which provides excellent control. Great video.
Excellent video again Peachy. The longer I go on in the hobby, the more I realise that thematic skirmish warbands are the most fun thing to do, so your content has been brilliant.
Cutting towards yourself is fine. It's like peeling potatoes or an apple. If you practice on having the handle, not the blade, land on your thumb, you have maximum control and can use all of your hands' gripping strength. Unlike when you cut away from your self, where you 'land in air' shooting out, if your miniature is not laying on a mat.
Another thing I like to use for cleaning details off is just cheap emory boards. The cardboard sticks with sandpaper surfaces you use on fingernails. You can buy bundles of them cheaply. And you can trim and shape them with scissors to make them thinner or shape them. That way you can make a shape you need specifically for what you are working on. Like a small tight space.
To speak to the way Peach cuts towards himself: This technique is controlled by the way a hand grips, which means it only has a single motion, a definitive end of the stroke, and also only moves as fast as the hand is gripping tighter. This gives a great deal of control compared to having the motion in your wrist, elbow, shoulder where when you hit a snag, you're more likely to keep going into yourself. In using the grip toward technique it is best to move the thumb away but some do use it as a brace/contact point similar to when we stabilize for painting. Away is still technically safer if done correctly but we don't have good body mechanisms for that so we often do away in a more unsafe way. Blade handling is a skill, please be careful and use the right tools for the right jobs. A sharp blade is always ideal as a blunt blade can cause more snags and you are softer than the plastic/resin. Sharpening/honing dull blades can be a cost savings to keep a blade useful longer.
Another thoroughly enjoyable vid, Peachy! Nice bashes with great painting - all of the minis exude a thematic gravity that pulls the viewers eyes to them.
I achieved a similar result with Fireforge Medieval Russians and Bolt Action German/Soviet bits. Also made some Foot Sergeants with Thomspons and M1 Garands.
Great video Peachy! I'm going to use mostly Wargames Atlantic as they have multiple kits that are great for this. I do agree, we need more sallet helmets! I want to put them on all my Stormcast Eternals troops because I'm not a fan of the normal SC heads, but those SC heads may look good on some Blood Angels... 😆
Kitbash Episode !!!! Using a blade, yes it can make a horrible mess of your thumb when it goes wrong, you also have far more control cutting towards you then away for bio-mechanical and brain reasons.
That was a great video. I love a good old kitbash vid. Im not too sure I'm going to attempt to get into a new game system this side of Christmas, but that head swap and sheild file made that stormcast look mega. A worthy cause indeed Mr Peach, I shall look out for yor quizz night with Jordan. Thank you.
You're making Stormcast look cool again, looks great with an arm mounted cannon. Also love the rifleman with the bascinet helm 9:29, he ain't gonna hit his target, but if that rifle explodes he won't get splinters in his eye. Grats on the 40k, now you can make a 40k video.
Really glad you enjoyed the video and thanks, yes, Peach is super stoked to have made it to 40k, thanks to good folks like yourself supporting him! There might be a 40k vid in the pipeline so watch this space .. Luv Mrs Peach 🍑
I don't have the pictures online, but the conversion I am most satidfied with is making mechanics for my Imperial Guard (or Astra Militarum if you prefer) army for Warhammer 40K. Used the chassis from the Basilisk to make a recovery vehicle (needed the gun for a Belly-gun for a Stompa conversion), and added lots of bits and parts from other kits to make it look like a real vehicle with a sort of a flatbed with cranes and tools, and then I took some regular soldiers and found heads and arms that sort of fitted the theme of being mechanics instead of warriors.
As all ork players know, every kit is an ork kit. Deff Dreads in particular are a favorite of mine to seriously kitbash with. One Dread in particular (of the seven) I own sports a new Imperial Guard Sentinel missile launcher, a old box Dreadnought missile launcher, a pair of T'au Broadside arms with (what else?) missile launchers, Adeptus Mechanicus Onager Dunecrawler legs and an Old World (back) banner. He's not painted yet as I am still orking him up (little ork boyz rifle sights on the T'au missile arms, some glyphs, etc...).
Back in 1975 Donald Featherstone Published a book called "Skirmish Wargaming". It too the same set of Rules and applied them to small Actions from the Dark Ages to WW II, with a later edition adding a conflict on a Space Station (3015 AD). Scenarios were very small and don't think I played any of the published ones but did design my own. There were plenty of other Skirmish rules around for Arena, Wild West Combat and WW II but the book focused more on setting the scene and story telling rather than combat. Hard to tell how much influence the Book had on war gaming. There was a lot going on in the seventies, Chess and War gaming were in a "Golden Age", board gaming, role playing games and miniatures really took off around then and decades later its still evolving. Anyways ignore that. Kit bashing is fun.
Really glad you enjoyed it! Though we don't know what they'll look like yet, Peach definitely has more conversion videos in the pipeline, so watch this space 😁 Luv Mrs Peach 🍑
Tips or the gap filling; Super glue with "bi carb soda" or "spew-goo" ( Tamiya extra thin with sprew melted in [shavings (quicker) or get a stick of sprew and leave it in to dissolve (slower) ] either of these fill gaps like dark magic. Hot water 70 odd degrees will help with bending hard plastic 'bits'. A SHARP knife and cutting towards you is BETTER then cutting away from yourself because its a more coordinated movement requiring less force. If your concerned put a rubber 'thimble' or a Band-Aid on your finger if your nervous.
This was great and well timed. I am just about to leap into this and I am at the ‘where do I start?’ stage. Hopefully Santa will bring me an odd assortment of historical minis! Oh and as requested I let the adverts run ( I had no idea that had to happen to let you get some of the revenue…oh well lesson learned). Keep up with the genius work!
We're glad you'll be able to try out the tips in Peach's video Stuart and thankyou for persevering with the ads (I'm certain that good deed will help put you on Santa's good list and you'll get your minis)! 😆 Luv Mrs Peach 🍑
40k Orks are great for kitbashing - I used some old Tamiya Panzer tank kits and just added lots more machine guns, oversize cannons, random metal plates, covered everything in dirty grimey layers of rust.
My beast boss on Mangler Squig looks awesome. Used Mangler Squig, aos ironjaws ork warboss, marine ( drag around the battle ground) & killteam terrain. Thanks for the great video Peachy
It comes to something when an experienced hobbyist has to explain themself on how they hobby because of idiot commentors. I cut towards myself as they'res more control. Great vid Peachy, given me loads of ideas, cheers dude.
Yeah I’ve seen so many folks get hassled for they way they do a certain technique etc, but yeah having to feel the need to defend yourself is about annoying lol
#1 I watched a WHOLE 'bank of ireland' ad without skipping, this means I must be a MH advocate to endure such torture. #2 I saw the hype but the minis I saw were a bit ... not my vibe... (though the mech dudes o.O) however FULLY KITBASHABBLE? Interested!
I think that’s the key to success, when a company makes a great game with a very interesting aesthetic, but is 100% okay with folks using other brands and fully supports crazy conversions and kitbashes….im in.
Lovely work! This kind of supernatural/ mediaeval / ww2 mash is exactly the aesthetic that draws me towards the 40k universe and I think you've translated it into Trench Crusade very well. I am a little Hundred Years War obsessed so that's likely biasing me, but I think I prefer the trench pilgrims you've produced here to the official models. Thank you!
Thankyou Colm, kit bashing is the perfect way to tailor your models to your own passions and interests-they are YOUR miniatures afterall and with a model agnostic game like trench crusade there's no reason you cant make em how you want and channel some hundred years war into the mix 😁 Luv Mrs Peach 🍑
Nice work dude! Grabbed the wargames illustrated magazine with the free fallschirmjäger. Might get Perry Zouaves and Afghan Tribesmen to kitbash some Azebs.
Been on a kitbashing run on 40k using aos deepkin and eldar pieces to make exodite units but after watching this i got an idea for antoch by taking oathmark revenant bodies to get that medieval curiass look of you were doing but they have torn up clothing to make a grungy like they are constantly having to fight look as well.
Peeeeeeeeachyyyyyy!!! I noticed your Dead Man's Hand Redux boxed set in the background. Please...pleeeeeeease do an episode on them. My son and myself would oh so appreciate it! I knew we could count on you pal. Thanks a million.
I have a plan to cover it briefly in an end of year video, got lots of games I’ve not had time to look into yet, so I want to give them some love. However come the new year I also want to do a dedicated video on it aswell
Well I remember the first set of space marines, my brother who passed, gave one of the marines dreadlocks. My kitbashing wasnt so creative. I just sculpted 'nids out of sculpy using drawings and photos as reference.
Oh wow a space marine with dreadlocks sounds amazing! Don't do yourself down, kit bashing is just about making your models unique to you-do what you want with them, it can be as simple as a head swap like Peach says in his vid or something more elaborate, do what you feel inspired to do ❤ Luv Mrs Peach 🍑
Trench Crusade really has my kitbashing juices flowing! I’m starting with some Trench Pilgrims mostly based on Cawdor models, but with weapons from Bolt Action to look a bit more appropriate to the setting. After that I’m thinking of doing some Trench Ghosts with Nighthaunt bits (a pretty popular kitbash choice it seems 😅)
I cut towards myself exactly the same. I feel I have more control. I'm enjoying the kit bash stuff for this game the aesthetic is a bit weird, but in a cool way
Glad Peach isn't alone in his cutting technique 😆! Really pleased to hear you're enjoying the kit bashing element of the game, though they do sell their own models, the game is model agnostic so there's no reason you can't make your own which is brilliant 😀 Luv Mrs Peach 🍑
Kitbashing is what made me pick the IG in 2002. BTW, please tell me we'll see another Silver Bayonet before year's end. Pvt Peach should wish for a new arm.
I’ve had a lot on at the mo, I do intend to do another 3 part silver bayonet series soon, but I’m just a one man video making machine and have had lots of other things I want to cover….if I could duplicate myself then I would’ve made a 100 by now 😂🤣 But it is on the cards and I really am eager to crack on with doing other similar styles of batreps for bolt action, Stargrave, frostgrave etc…..so do bare with me and my slowness 😍🙏😍
I find if I am overly concerned about losing access to a rare part, a little onimaru/blue stuff and epoxy putty will solve the issue. Of course you can’t do that for everything but I’ve had good results with pouches and bits that are out of print but I own a small number, like the pouches and cranks from the WHFB crossbowmen metal upgrade blister.
I have been using the Beta rules for a long time now it is really good and they update things over time, best thing any new game company or system can do is keep core rules free with options to buy physical rules in a nice fancy book or at least have a basic version of the rules out there for people to try OPR style type of option. Games like Trench, Turnip28 and other smaller games are I think better overall more so for some of us older people who mightnt have 3 hours to do a two turn game in ha I would rather get two or three smaller games in those 3 hours if I had 3 hours to spare. I also like the Forbidden Psalm series of games all very different themes and bring something unique to the games these are all solo/co-op but very fun and work on a warband system.
Nice models, love the guy with the hatchet especially and the natural poses you've gone for. Was thinking about how someone should do a Trench Crusade conversions video where they don't use Warhammer and you pretty much did it! I see why you're conflicted about the cutting away/towards thing with the hobby knife, i guess it's the usual 'Do as i say, not as i do' haha
The real highlight here for me is the recycling of Stormcasts... Especially after the massiv retirement announced this year. Miniature agnostic games are awesome ! Thank you for amazing video. N.B: beware of your voice sound level. It is very low and commercials are way too high compared to it. Just a point to verify if you can.
Great Video! Any consideration to either using cheap disposable super glue precision tips for more control over the glue? (Not that you had any filmed mishaps, lol). Or using plastic glue and "sprue-goo" for gap filling?
That’s certainly something worth covering for sure, I neglected to mention as to why I use super glue in the vid to, as i can snap and change things a lot easier, plastic glue does a better job of bonding but a nightmare to separate once cured, so a video that has more time dedicated to glues would be interesting…..it’ll have to join the queue though hahaha
at some point I found I''d inherited a huge pile of free company bits that I've been using to repair and fix up all kinds of old and broken models. my rule of not uying new GW stuff might be tested if they re-release it for TOW...
In the spirit of comments for the comment god I love the tempestus scions for kit bashing. They are regular human dudes but with some lovely greeblies. And sweet cuirass'
If you like Trench Crusade, I highly recommend looking into Turnip28. It's like if Napoleonics got throw into a blender with Warhammer Fantasy and a particularly nasty garden crop. It's great for kitbashing too!
Peach's been wanting to dive deeper into turnip28 for a while! The creator was a guest on Juggz (a podcast Peach does with Rogue Hobbies and The Honest Wargamer) a few weeks ago and once time permits he'll definitely be investigating further 😉 Luv Mrs Peach 🍑

Even without pics that sounds bloody awesome, I do like seeing ‘everyday’ jobs being portrayed in 40k
That sounds bloomin awesome!!!

Well I certainly read it, interesting stuff, and yes kitbashing is great
Answered the question of will stormcasts work for heavy infantry! Thanks peach l!
Yaaaay! I helped 😆👍
These turned out great. I’d love to see some more involved conversions maybe making use of a saw.
Really glad you enjoyed it! Though we don't know what they'll look like yet, Peach definitely has more conversion videos in the pipeline, so watch this space 😁

Peachy I’m in love! It’s the peachy Kitbash video I’ve been dreaming of! Wooooooooo!
Super glad you enjoyed it ❤

That Stormcast Kitbash is epic; especially with that paint job. The rest are pretty mint, too.
Thanks Euan 🤗

This was great and well timed. I am just about to leap into this and I am at the ‘where do I start?’ stage. Hopefully Santa will bring me an odd assortment of historical minis! Oh and as requested I let the adverts run ( I had no idea that had to happen to let you get some of the revenue…oh well lesson learned). Keep up with the genius work!
We're glad you'll be able to try out the tips in Peach's video Stuart and thankyou for persevering with the ads (I'm certain that good deed will help put you on Santa's good list and you'll get your minis)! 😆

Thanks
Thank you 🫶

Kitbashing on a Friday night! Beers and Peaches and kitbash inspiration bad ass vid! Cheers from Texas
Hope you enjoy yourself Travis, have one for us 🍻

I see you made it to 40K subscribers, congrats!
Yes we're super stoked to have made it Marcus and thankyou to you and others who've made it possible 😀

40k Orks are great for kitbashing - I used some old Tamiya Panzer tank kits and just added lots more machine guns, oversize cannons, random metal plates, covered everything in dirty grimey layers of rust.
Can’t argue with these facts 😆👍
I'm really excited for Trench Crusade. It hits all the points for a game trully made for hobbyists
My beast boss on Mangler Squig looks awesome.
Used Mangler Squig, aos ironjaws ork warboss, marine ( drag around the battle ground) & killteam terrain.
Thanks for the great video Peachy
Well that sounds amazing…..I particularly like the marine being dragged part 😂
That sounds brilliant! Super pleased you enjoyed the video and hope it helps you to create more kitbashed mega models 😀

@@PeachyTips thanks Peachy I would show you but I don't know how too.
Thanks Josh
God sent us to tell you. Good job, proud of you.

They turned out great Peachy
🫶🫶🫶 FANX!
Amazing video and what a great amount of food for thought with conversions! Im going to have a go myself thanks
Nice!
I already know, this is going to be a fantastic video.
I just learned what this is and here comes peachy to give some tips.
😆👍 peachys tip…..oh wait, that doesn’t sound right
@@PeachyTips 🤣... Not that kind of trench, mate 😉

You're a legend Peachy, enjoying the content!
Many thanks, we're super glad you're enjoying what Peach makes 😀

Lovely work! This kind of supernatural/ mediaeval / ww2 mash is exactly the aesthetic that draws me towards the 40k universe and I think you've translated it into Trench Crusade very well.
I am a little Hundred Years War obsessed so that's likely biasing me, but I think I prefer the trench pilgrims you've produced here to the official models.
Thank you!
Thankyou Colm, kit bashing is the perfect way to tailor your models to your own passions and interests-they are YOUR miniatures afterall and with a model agnostic game like trench crusade there's no reason you cant make em how you want and channel some hundred years war into the mix 😁
Luv Mrs Peach 🍑
Really nailed the vibe with these!
That is a sound idea, I’ve got those kits and can confirm they’ll work with most 28mm parts. Super smart choice 👍
Peachy Trench sounds good.
@@PeachyTips thanks for the response sounds like a plan!!
Peachy! You made it to 40k by December! Congratulations! I remember you mentioned it being a goal on Juggz🎉
I’m still shocked tbh…..I’m well chuffed and now need to get a 40k vid made to celebrate 🥳🥳🥳
@PeachyTips well deserved! Im sure you'll come up with something good.
Don't do yourself down, kit bashing is just about making your models unique to you-do what you want with them, it can be as simple as a head swap like Peach says in his vid or something more elaborate, do what you feel inspired to do ❤
Luv Mrs Peach 🍑
Trench Crusade really has my kitbashing juices flowing! I’m starting with some Trench Pilgrims mostly based on Cawdor models, but with weapons from Bolt Action to look a bit more appropriate to the setting. After that I’m thinking of doing some Trench Ghosts with Nighthaunt bits (a pretty popular kitbash choice it seems 😅)
Oooh those trench ghosts sound cool! The endless kitbashing possibilities are well…..endless 😂🤦♂️
I did the same thing for my mechanized infantry for new antioch. Was up on the fb page
Oh cool! I’ll check it out…..great minds
I cut towards myself exactly the same. I feel I have more control.
I'm enjoying the kit bash stuff for this game the aesthetic is a bit weird, but in a cool way
Glad Peach isn't alone in his cutting technique 😆! Really pleased to hear you're enjoying the kit bashing element of the game, though they do sell their own models, the game is model agnostic so there's no reason you can't make your own which is brilliant 😀
Luv Mrs Peach 🍑
I saw another youtuber who puts a bandaid on his thumb when cutting towards himself to protect from a slip. Great video BTW. Keep them coming
Ooh that’s smart, I usually do a thin layer of super glue, but it gets a bit hard to feel things with your fingers lol
Merry Christmas Peach! Thank you for this video, as I am inspired to create new squads!
Merry Christmas to you too, we're super glad you've been inspired and hope you enjoy creating the squads 😀

kitbashing is always fun. Trench Crusade is pretty cool Alt to 40k
Kitbashing is what made me pick the IG in 2002. BTW, please tell me we'll see another Silver Bayonet before year's end. Pvt Peach should wish for a new arm.
I’ve had a lot on at the mo, I do intend to do another 3 part silver bayonet series soon, but I’m just a one man video making machine and have had lots of other things I want to cover….if I could duplicate myself then I would’ve made a 100 by now 😂🤣
But it is on the cards and I really am eager to crack on with doing other similar styles of batreps for bolt action, Stargrave, frostgrave etc…..so do bare with me and my slowness 😍🙏😍
Oooooo it looks good.
Looks excellent, love the color schemes. Put some lotion on those fingers!
Also i would love to see your take on trench pilgrims, iron sultans and heretic legions
I reckon they’ll be things I cover in future videos, especially once I’ve got a better idea of what kits to use etc
Yeah that’s a super smart method, I’ve seen a few folks do that, makes a tone of sense, and if you damage it…..make a new one 😍👍
Mariah is the QUEEN! ALL HAIL MARIAH!
Hahaha
This is an awesome video. So many cool ideas and info. But every time I see you poke that superglue into the frame my soul dies a little bit.
Thanks Stavi, really pleased you've found the video useful, enjoy bashing those non-gw kits 😆

MOAR! This was great but MOAR!
The real highlight here for me is the recycling of Stormcasts... Especially after the massiv retirement announced this year. Miniature agnostic games are awesome ! Thank you for amazing video. N.B: beware of your voice sound level. It is very low and commercials are way too high compared to it. Just a point to verify if you can.
these are siiiick!
How is it Peachy, theee peach, only has 40k subs. wish you all the best in growing you channel love your Juggz and love the vids
Ha! Tbf I’m happy with what I’ve got, an there’s lots of super talented creators in this space, I’m just another face in a crowd of faces 😂👍
Thankyou for commenting for the comment god James and thankyou for sharing the models you use for kitbashing too 😀

The creator was a guest on Juggz (a podcast Peach does with Rogue Hobbies and The Honest Wargamer) a few weeks ago and once time permits he'll definitely be investigating further 😉
