  • Riding on the street can be dangerous due to distracted drivers, traffic, and poor roads, making motorcyclists 28 times more likely to face fatal accidents than car drivers. Traffic Survival is designed to give any rider, on any bike, the skills and strategies needed to enjoy every street ride and have more fun on two wheels for many years to come.

Our instructors for Champ Street in Las Vegas on feb 3-4 were legit. They are current and past motorcycle police officer instructors and have competed in many events. Thank you for organizing these schools 🔥

Great stuff! I'm still trying to get Congress to pass a bill that allows me to have a rocket launcher on my bike, but they have been resistant. So, in the meantime, I'll focus on sound road skills and road strategies to survive! This should be a fantastic class! I'm not afraid to ride on the streets, and I don't blame drivers that can't see me (unless, of course, they are texting or something other than paying attention to their driving) because we are just very hard to see on the roads. I do ride like I'm invisible and since my first bike in 1985, I have never been in an accident. I watch everything happening while I'm riding...eyes, body language, wheel positioning of vehicles turning, traffic patterns, and doing so has saved me on numerous occasions. I don't hold anyone else responsible for my safety except for me. That means no ridiculous rev-bombing, flipping off drivers, breaking off mirrors, or other juvenile and stupid sh*t like that.
Thanks for all you do at ChampU!! I'm looking forward to more great content in the days ahead. In the meantime, ride safe, ride well, and ride often!!

I think there are close calls, or worse, that are unavoidable from our perspective, but that the majority of situations are foreseeable if we truly pay attention throughout 360 degrees and keep an eye out for signs of common problems, such as drivers getting on multi lane roads and swerving across lanes, or suddenly switching lanes in heavy traffic. Of course, our choice of position within the lane and avoiding cruising along next to cars are always important. I love track riding, but consider frequent street riding good practice in maintaining skills. I also believe in always wearing good quality gear, including gauntlet gloves and protective boots (track boots on street or sport bikes, and off-road boots on tall/adventure bikes). Broken bones take too much of my time to heal.

Excellent! After all this is where most of us will do most of our riding!

Great idea! Something I've noticed watching dan the fireman's videos where he's streaming and workshopping those helmet cam videos is that the way the roads are designed and the road rules are so dangerous and imo designed to fail. A let turner at an intersection situation I don't think could ever happen in Australia because most of our intersections just don't allow it

Excited to see you covering this topic! After the quality of ChampU I expect some more quality learning. Great to see you brought on Jen Dunstan too, she's a boss and really knowledgeable.

Which side according to you people should lean, on the street?
Should I take this course over Champ-U if I mostly commute and ride on the street?

20 years of riding on daily basis in the traffic jam of Rome, Italy. 😅😅😅. One of the most cahotic city in Europe. Going to school, going to work, going to clubbing. During the summer, during the winter. Do you need a teacher ? Here i am. 😅
