I live near this house and It was built on land from the neighbours garden. It was also on the market recently for £2 million. In fairness although I personally think the interior design is cold and dated and I also agree with the tarmac drive issue that everyone is mentioning, it is worth the money and it is the value in the road. I was recently looking at a house on the same side of the road, built in the 1920s, which needs a complete gut and re do, literally everything doing and that is on the market for a million . There is nothing Edwardian about the house, other than the neighbouring houses and when you drive past its a bit of an eyesore. However it is still worth the money, for someone who likes that sort of thing. It would never be my taste - I think by the way the windows look cheap and the kitchen has AEG appliance - super cheap. I agree on the two island, total design fault , total waste of time. For those people talking about pools and gyms and later gardens, you are talking £3 million plus in this area for these features.
It is actually pretty well priced for the road it is in,. However it was built in a neighbour s garden, as a few houses on this road have been, so it can look at bit like that. Lots of people are selling off part of their garden as a building plot.
Narrow entryways with an immediate view of a staircase is very British. Also consider the Frank Lloyd Wright concept of "hold and release" - a tight entry way that opens to a bigger space. In my personal home, I have a similar concept with a front entryway mud room.
In fairness there's a lot of interior detailing around doors, cornices, etc. Obviously no one's going to mistake it for an Edwardian building, but i don't think that's what they meant. Don't get me wrong, I get your point. I just think that the reality of balancing classic and modern is not easy and depends on priorities.
Hi Tom!! I would take the Ferrari... for the Sunday blast and the Bentley as my everyday driver!!👍🙂... Beautiful home!! I especially love the way you can walk straight through the home from the front door and into the garden!! Great presentation as ever!!👍🙂
People would do well to take Kirsty Allsop's advice about kitchen islands. She said whatever size island you want, halve it. The islands in that kitchen were ridiculously huge, and to have two seemed excessive!
@denog_yt11 errrm ..... no lool no nail tech no matter how hard they work in no way shape or form could they afford this lool ...cute saying but no, makes no sense lool
So, is there are plethora of car rental companies in the UK who only lend cars to thirsty real estate agents filming adverts for their properties? Got a subpar new-build to sell? Rent a Bentley for an hour! Honorable mention, at least for staging “luxury” properties here in the US: Hermès blankets, empty Chanel shopping bags and the ubiquitous Louis Vuitton coffee table book.
Staging properties in the UK is a relatively new thing. Only until a few years ago, much of these would be basic ordinary home sales or off market sales. It was more about discretion, and less flamboyance in UK & Europe. And Open Houses did not exist either until recently. Now, the market seems to be experimenting with this.
Beautiful house and very well done. I have two gripes and they are very big. The drive looks poorly finished or unfinished and should be a resin drive with boarder. Corner cutting. The second island is way too big and over kill and makes the room very cluttered when it’s actually a very big space. And the dark colours with that island makes it look even more cluttered. Still love the colour choices it just doesn’t work when the space is packed up like that. Hopefully it’s tiled underneath and not secured to the floor so it can be removed.
Nice to see it finished. I walked around that house when it was a shell. Played football on the garden and had parties in the house next door, which sold the land
Good property, nice and tastefully decorated with room to put your own spin on things. Definitely room for a home recording studio in either of those two upper floor bedrooms or that office space downstairs and the second living room could become a home cinema with little effort. Given the size, features and location of this place I think that the price is fair and justified.
Kitchen, dining room area ceiling is quite low. Two bedrooms sharing one bath is always awkward (e.g. you can lock your neighbour out or forget to lock when you're in). Better to access it from the hallway.
Another thing I just noticed are the very cheap white socket faceplates, light switches and TV outlet's. No doubt they are BG brand and not even MK lol
Beautiful home loved all the finishes but not sure on modern lighting though. We didn't get to see the back garden though maybe link a short clip? 2 seconds look isn't enough.
It would be a nice house to buy if all the personal Effects and furniture was left in it so when you get the keys you have nothing to do apart from moving in I always find your furniture never fits in the new home the same.. I believe the way forward is to build new homes and then get a designer in to furnish then,
You asked so NO I don't think it's worth the asking price. The ceilings seems very low throughout. Main drawback is there is NO privacy and landscaping is at a minimum or non existent, as in the back yard. There are also many features that need to be added, like closets! BBQ area, pool or water feature. I don't really know the pricing in that area but it seems like it's overpriced to me. A beautiful home but a little conflicted between the traditional style and then some modern features. Not consistent to me. Sorry!
Always the same in these £1m+ homes...kitchen in an open plan space with soft furnishings. not good when cooking anything with a string smell. It will get into the fabric 🤦🏻♀️
7.40 - the utility room has white basic sockets if am buying a house over £1 million I expect better and the house is small lack of privacy in the garden. Shite
Then call a handyman and remove them and put something else there. For the majority of people they would be useful. Remember they are just fridges... you DON'T have to put alcohol in them...... duh!
First of all, you have an oversized entryway, I think they could have reduced the size and increased the house's size. The entry hall is tiny. Paying 1,7 grants for this is insane. I would pay half of it as MAX and still overpay for it.
Always enjoy watching Tom & Jas giving luxury house tours but what is going on with the lighting levels on this tour? In some shots it’s incredibly dark. Not sure if its the house itself which doesn’t appear to be flooded with natural light despite the abundance of glass?
why are the ceilings so low on the first floor? Prefer gas. I abhor elec. And I'm suprised for a "bespoke" kitchen there isn't a butler's pantry, even the food pantry was small. Who was this house bespoke to, the developer? I did like the door trim and dental moulding. Where was the washer and dryer (laundry room)? And no library? and not a single bedroom had a wardrobe/clothes closet? At the very least, the master should have walk in closets. Fascinating seeing a newer built home in England and how things are different here in the U.S. btw, Bently, but not that one. But I'd want to test drive the Ferrari.
Awful house, never justifies that price. There is a lot of land but the house size is awful in terms of the use of the land space. Better thing would have been to secure the property from the neighbours/outside and rebuild the house in the centre of the land. The two cars together outside almost are the same length as the entire house!
I’m not sure if this is an UK thing, the exterior of these new homes have an old school charm and are beautiful. But the interior always seems to be terribly decorated with low ceilings. How do you have low ceilings on new construction is beyond me!
I felt the need to duck just watching this, the ceilings seem so low, not just in the kitchen but all of the ground floor. Like a fancy trailer home. Do the bifold door nullify that insulation in colder weather? No going out that way on a cold day, theough that office door then.
Elephant in the room - the limited garden is surrounded by the neighbours garden, so they can perve and spy at you any time they want. I bet they owned the whole plot and sold off this property's plot for a fee, but wanted to keep most of the original plot for themselves. I would feel like a tenant if I bought this place, no matter how nice inside it may be. "We're letting you have this little bit of our land for you nice little house. But we're surrounding it with our land to keep an eye on you. Oh, and next year, you know that stip of land to the left of your house? We're going to be keeping some chickens, cockerels and goats there".
How big is the land that the house. Sits on? How many square feet? Feel like this is one of the most important things you could cover in the first 30 seconds.
Tom & Jaz are NOT professional presenters, agents or ANYTHING. They must have seen others doing the same and thought to copy them lol. Ridiculous to think they drove the Ferrari a bit and got out of the Bentley just to think they own it

Surely at this price you'd expect more privacy from the neighbouring properties.
My thoughts exactly
So overlooked and the bottom fencing, if that what it is, is not secure.
It is actually pretty well priced for the road it is in,. However it was built in a neighbour s garden, as a few houses on this road have been, so it can look at bit like that. Lots of people are selling off part of their garden as a building plot.
Maybe if it was 2mil+
Could they make the hallway entrance any smaller 😂 It's like Tom entered one of the rooms in Willy Wonka factory 😂😂
Narrow entryways with an immediate view of a staircase is very British.
Also consider the Frank Lloyd Wright concept of "hold and release" - a tight entry way that opens to a bigger space. In my personal home, I have a similar concept with a front entryway mud room.
I read a comment in a previous video that says Tom is 6'6''. Not sure if true, but that could play some part in it lol.
Nice enough and tour great guys love you and Jas but the ceilings seem a bit too low for me 🤷♀️
Was thinking the same thing!!! Unless the tour guy is like super tall
"Edwardian style new build" LOL translation: It's a box but we put some columns on the front porch.
In fairness there's a lot of interior detailing around doors, cornices, etc. Obviously no one's going to mistake it for an Edwardian building, but i don't think that's what they meant. You sound like a right old misery …
EXACTLY, lol...imagine actually saying that to peoples faces in real life, Id be soooo embarrassed
It’s always amusing when someone who knows very little about the subject feels empowered criticising the work of others
The ceilings seem a bit too low.
In Edwardian times people were shorter! 😂
People would do well to take Kirsty Allsop's advice about kitchen islands. She said whatever size island you want, halve it. The islands in that kitchen were ridiculously huge, and to have two seemed excessive!
It's beautiful - the decor is very Middle Eastern, the dark wood, the gold, the double island, the marble etc
8:55 "You could sit here if you had a home business like nail tech" Yeah do you think a nail tech will be buying this house? lol.
What you do isn't what counts, it's how you do it...

I was watching this thinking the house screams “Deano and Chantelle”, and Chantelle would definitely be a self employed nail tech.

Yes can't take this seriously as a luxury home Tom is in danger of leaving a trail of hair gel on the ceilings

That would be appreciated. They used to I don't know why they stopped.
@@adrimuteprobably to stop potential intruders from being able to make a detailed plan of the house
Most of the budget got blown on tarmac. 😆😆
I would call it a Neo-Edwardian home - I see the inspiration but it's instantly recognizable as a new home.
Is it the camera angle but the ceiling looks really low ?
I like the built in bar table.
Nice to see it finished. I walked around that house when it was a shell. Played football on the garden and had parties in the house next door, which sold the land
For me too much self draining driveway. The front should have some garden to give kerbside appeal for my taste...
Nice house, apart from the low ceilings. We love the use of marble and lighting. Bigger garage would be nice and not sure about the garden boundaries.

Type of house for those with no self awareness
Naff interior design
The kitchen would definitely need to have sound absorption tiles on the ceiling otherwise it would have really annoying acoustics.
I would lean more towards the Bentley but the Ferrari is nice also 😃

Wine coolers are a waste. Not everyone drinks alcohol.
Then call a handyman and remove them and put something else there. For the majority of people they would be useful. Remember they are just fridges... you DON'T have to put alcohol in them...... duh!
Are you a giant or are the ceilings unforgivably low for a new build?
The head height in this house is ridiculous! Soo low. For me brings the value down to 1m lol 😂
More like $300k
Guy just gifted me success.
really low ceiling heights throughout for me
Mass tarmac is always a sign of luxury living 😜
Yeah that driveway is an utter abomination!
I'd say it's worth about £1.25m to £1.5m (at face value, or at least, what i'd buy it for), £1,300,000 to be more precise.
@drewevans4236 Interesting, nope... not delusional, just unfamiliar with the 'surrounding property prices' I guess!
Strange you give an estimate of the price range of £1.25m to £1.5m...... then continue to be precise at £1.3m. Which one is it gonna be lol
When you said Edwardian I was expecting some vintage and antique furnitures
Maybe instead of saying false ceiling, say recessed ceiling it sounds more professional and inviting at the same time. 👀👍👊
Why skimp on the driveway with a cheap Tarmac option, not worth the money as expect more than Tarmac at £100 per ton laid for this price .
Because new build developers are the ulitmate cheapskates
I quite like it however, lacking something. The driveway looks like it was a quick fix and those ceilings!!!! Too low
The Bentley for me 👌🏿👌🏿 a quality house 🏠
Another great video as always.
The rear garden needs to look a lot more in keeping with the quality of the house.

However, no basement with a gym and cinema room? No HVAC/AC builtin?
Most modern homes shown here, has the same design, black and white interior and marble with some fluted wooden panels here and there!
