  • @anthonytodd5308

    1. You NEVER cover a hex headed screw with fabric, this creates bridging (an air pocket and/or fish mouths) around the fastener...You must cut the cloth at the fastener for proper waterproofing! 2. You always remove old caulking and tar...NEVER cover AND ALWAYS clean the surface area! 3. Is Turbo Poly Seal a Rust Inhibitor? 4. Always a bigger diameter screw, BINGO CORRECT! 5. FOLKS, always clean the surface area a minimum of 6" beyond the repairing area. 6. The aluminum coating will crack with in 3-5 years!

I am renovating an old trailer with a metal roof. I am using a wire brush to clean the roof to bare metal then I will do as you say. Question: what if I can’t get to the hard to reach caulking? Can I just caulk over what I can? Must I remove all rust with the wire brush before repairing? Thank you

What about using integrated - "long life" - screws, where the head of the screw is one piece with the "washer" that acts as an umbrella to cover the neoprene washer underneath: is there an advantage to these integrated screws? The disadvantage is the cost, as they appear to cost more than the standard roofing screw.
I'd be interested to hear your recommendation. Great video content, as usual.

I wish you would make a tidier job of painting the turbo seal, straight lines not untidy splodges.
