    Hi Lina, First off I want to say that your results are gorgeous! But I had a very similar experience with Bounce Curl. I tried it for a couple of weeks and found that I was very underwhelmed by the products (especially for the price), and I had a huge problem with the gel. It caused instantaneous flash drying, like the moisture was just sucked out of my hair. My end result was dry, brittle, stringy, and tangled. I gave the products away to a friend, then a year later after I had fine-tuned my technique and learned how to get great results with other products, I decided to try it again. Same thing happened. I have no doubt that they are fantastic products and work really great for other people, but I cannot use it in my hair.

      I'm starting to wonder if that was some of my problem too, that the gel was causing some flash drying. My is still a little more dry than normal (though that could be weather related). I wonder if it's because of all the proteins in it...maybe this product would work better for those who need more protein?
      It's definitely a shame though since they are pricier products. I'm very glad that I bought the trial sizes first. It's good to know. I'll do more experimenting, but still...it's a bummer.

    I had a similar experience with the deep conditioner as well. You are not alone.

    Hi Lina ! The light hold gel doesn’t give enough hold, at least for me. Try with a hard hold gel on top

      Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely have to try that in the future.

    Just over 3 weeks ago, I had to have a double mastectomy. I noticed that my hair was falling out and it was tangling very easily. My hair and scalp was so dry and flaky. I've been trying to heal and take care of my hair. My hair is my hobby and I just love taking good care of it. I know I went through something major and my hair should come second but it gives me so much joy to take care of it. That being said, can you recommend any conditioner or something that smoothes my hair? What I used previously just won't cut it anymore. ( Curlsmith moisture mask) I can't detangle anymore using conditioner. I have to use oil while dry detangling. Any suggestions would help. Thank you 😊 💓

      I'm sorry to hear that! I'm sending positive vibes your way. I totally get wanting to take care of your hair. I think part of taking care of ourselves is engaging in things we enjoy.
      For your scalp, I really like the Derma-e scalp shampoo and conditioner. They did wonders to help my scalp. I can't remember how the slip on the conditioner is though. Another option you could try would be the Raw Sugar Scalp Therapy products I did a review on. They did help a bit. For smoothing your hair, and for really good detangling, my biggest suggestion would be the Curlsmith Shine products. The Shine conditioner gave me the best slip I've ever had. I've never detangled so easily in my life. And they really help to smooth down the cuticle. I would say though that if you’re struggling with tangling and dryness, I would avoid the hard hold gel and use the Jelly instead.
      Another option for detangling is the Curls Dynasty Deep Conditioner. I actually used that one today after over a week of not washing and my hair was so tangled. It helped work through the knots really easily and does a good job smoothing and moisturizing.
      I'll give more thought to other products that might work well and let you know if something comes to mind.
      Detangling with an oil is a good idea. If it works for you then go for it. ☺ If you do prefer to do it in the shower though, you could try putting on your conditioner, squish to condish, and then wait a couple of minutes to detangle, if you aren't already doing this. It helps me out when I'm really struggling. And if you don't already use a detangling brush, like the tangle teezer, you could try that too.
      Let me know if there's anything else I can do!

      @@Irish9598Mary I've been thinking about this a little more and trying to find conditioners with really good slip. I tried the Mielle Rosemary Mint Masque the other day and was actually surprised at how well it worked through my hair. It was pretty tangled at that point. 😅
      Another line that I found works really well for my hair is the TGIN Rose Water products. They always give my hair really good slip, and leave it feeling really moisturized after I wash them out. The only thing to be aware of on that one is that the conditioner and mask both have silicones in them. Their pretty close to the bottom of the ingredients list, but if you're trying to avoid silicones, they are still there. The leave in conditioner does have really good slip though and is silicone free.

    I think that with the deep conditioner I wonder if you needed a moisturizing deep conditioner to balance it out. I do a 2nd deep conditioner when I use ayurvedic herbs. I would suggest the Mielle overnight Ginger hair mask or the Mielle no protein deep conditioner.

      Thanks for the recommendation. I'm mostly surprised because they say it's their most moisturizing conditioner. But I'll definitely try paring it with something else. I plan on doing an update to this. I'm going to try using just the stylers, and I'll try mixing the deep conditioner as well. I have feeling I'll really like the stylers.
      Also...I definitely need a hair cut. 😂 I just realized it's been 6 months....so maybe that will change my thoughts on the deep conditioner as well. Might be a few weeks before I get to the update, but I'll definitely do it. 😅

    I bought the Bounce Curl leave in conditioner, light gel and hairspray because of all the rave reviews. The hairspray is great - it works with other products too, but the leave in conditioner and light gel are just average for my hair.

      @Linas_lovelylocks  2 роки тому +1

      I could definitely see that. I feel the same about the light hold gel. I'll have to try out the hairspray though. Thanks for your input. ☺

    The cream smells great but weighs my hair down. The gel smells divine but I find it to be much better as a refresher gel.

    • @Linas_lovelylocks
      @Linas_lovelylocks  2 роки тому

      That's definitely fair. The cream is very thick. And the gel is so light, I bet it works great for refreshing. I'll have to try and use it that way as well.
