I always wonder about the choice to have it a single unit when no matter what the psi you end up with no air under the heel. Youd think a heel unit with a 270 pocket for the rest of the foot.
I think the air unit should have a backup foam inside the air unit so you're not left with a horrible shoe if it punctures. Back in the day kids would just pop the air unit on purpose because they were board.
My air max 2021 lost the air in the outside bubble. The internal bubble which is much better protected still holds the air - I honestly don't feel any difference when walking. This is an effectively obsolete technology, so the durability of a product that is primarily an aesthetic gimmick isn't necessarily a high priority. That being said a layer of puncture resistant aramid cloth would have been pretty easy to laminate between the pad and the outsole.

I suffer from chronic, drug-resistant pain on both legs all the way down to the soles of my feet (I have a severe form of Multiple Sclerosis since 2002) and, after obviously testing different Brands over the years when I needed to change shoes, I recognized that the Nike Air Max that cushion the entire sole are the ones that help me suffer a little less when I have to walk (of course there are some models, depending on the collections of the different seasons, that for my pain "work" better than others). In time I also managed to test the Vapormax and 720, hence the confirmation that for my case the more air they put in, the more relief I have. It will be the feeling of "floating" that helps me in the one thing that is fundamental for me, to try to suffer less, then maybe it will not be the best for proper walking (I don't know eh, I speculate) but at the current point of my illness that is no longer cared for. Sorry for the long premise but I ask you...do you think the time will ever come when the price will drop a little and they will also be purchasable at more attainable prices? I love Nike Air Maxes. Shoes with visible air bubbles were the pinnacle of cool sneakers in the 90s when I grew up and I've carried that fascination with them into adulthood. My last pair to pop was the Air Max 2009 (full air unit) reissue I bought in 2012 and they popped this year. I was using them in the garage and the sidewalls frequently got abraised so I think maybe that's why they popped. I have a pair of Air Max 90 that I've also had for 10 years and though they're pretty beat. My main garage shoes are my Air Max Tavas which are similar to the AM90 in that they have a visible heel air unit encased in a foam midsole and no other air. I've absolutely trashed those. The suede upper has started to separate from the midsole but the they still hold air and are very comfortable. They are maybe 7 (?) years old. I have a few pairs with full-length air units - the Air Max 720, Air Max 2014 and Air Force Max TB; I wear the 720s and 2014s cautiously but I wear Air Force Max TBs even when riding motorcycle though I may not do that anymore as I don't want them to burst. The 720s are the most comfortable shoes I have though they don't flex. About tied with them are Nike Zoom Flys which have an unassuming appearance like many foam running shoes do. But they are very light, plush and responsive - they also have carbon fiber plates in them.
I have them and after 3 week of having them and just walking one of the pop from the back 🤷🏽♀️ it sad cuz I really love them they are really confiable.
Could you cut Philippe Model Temple and Alexander Mcqueen Oversized? They are over over used here in Western Europe and are considered ultra high quality sneakers and furthermore a status symbol (expecially the Alexander McQueen shoes)

They invested a lot of money to come up with this shoe, cant sell them without a profit. Same thing for cars. You think an Audi RS7 is worth 140K of parts? I’ve had 4 pairs of Air Max Zephyrs which had a similar air sole & within a year all of them developed a pinhole leak along one of the seams. I’ll never buy anything resembling those soles again.
I've never had a pair of full soled airmax that didn't eventually go flat even when worn just to walk in and keep nice. Sometimes its years later but always happens. One exception may be my vapormax. 3 years strong now. That being said for 250 they should take alot.
great vid i've been asking for these shoes since forever on this channel (ik probably you wasn't buying it because my comment or anything but it feels good regardless :D).
@@appelscha23 I wouldn’t recommend airmax at all. They are too expensive and i really don’t like the look anymore. I would go for some Jordans, Dunks or Airforce’s…
The puncture tests were different because of the shape of the sidewall vs the foot. With the larger nail, obviously the force is more spread out, but the sidewall has more curvature to support the force better than the sole, where it's just flat. With the needle, it's sharp and concentrated enough that the extra support the sidewall geometry gives isn't actually doing anything

I have a few pairs with full-length air units - the Air Max 720, Air Max 2014 and Air Force Max TB;
I wear the 720s and 2014s cautiously but I wear Air Force Max TBs even when riding motorcycle though I may not do that anymore as I don't want them to burst.
The first costs 320-350€ but you can find them at 50% in certain occasions (I have paid 159€ for them), the second pair is never in sale and the minimum price you can find them is 450€
The sidewall is probably thicker to try to prevent rolling and side flex.
The Canada West Moorby boot please.... I would enjoy seeing these boots cut in half.
me watching harrison nevel's video on the Jordan 1 lost and founds: 😃
me watching rose anvil's video on the Jordan 1 lost and founds:😭
This shoe probably cost Nike $18 to make. How can you justify that mark up?
I love this channel. Keep up the golden!
Nike tax my friend, just get reps much cheaper
@@dressing2877 bruh reps? Smh
@@vizslabricks yeah reps im tired of having to spend 400 dollars just for a sick pair of shoes when good reps are the same quality anyway made by the same asian child worker for 100 bucks instead of 400
@@dressing2877 😂😂😂😂
You dont pay only for the materials used and the labour, you also pay for the technology and research, design team and so on. They invested a lot of money to come up with this shoe, cant sell them without a profit. Same thing for cars. You think an Audi RS7 is worth 140K of parts? Its the money they have spent to develope that car
i bet a rebarb edge would pop it,, those rods are sharp as hell
With the rebound tests, do you want rebound or do you want to see the foam absorb the impact?
That's why I do like Nike air max plus or 95s, 90s if they pop they are still very much wearable I though when the air max scorpion was popped it definitely not really wearable I bought a pair but sold them again thank you so much for your awesome videos best on UA-cam cheers bro 👍👊👌🥰
@@amandak.4246 no I sold my pair 👌
Just ordered a belt and wallet. Can’t wait.
I have 2 pairs. These are heavy shoes. But nice ride and get a lot of looks and compliments
Could you cut the 990v6 in middle because I’d like to see improvements between 990v5 vs 990v6
On drop test Nike zoom x flyknit 2 did 9.5 yet in the adidas ultra boost 22 video the zoom x flyknit 2 only did 6 inches
I’ve had 4 pairs of Air Max Zephyrs which had a similar air sole & within a year all of them developed a pinhole leak along one of the seams. I’ll never buy anything resembling those soles again.
All 720s that I had got punctured and my friends' ones also, normal use, did not last a month
I've never had a pair of full soled airmax that didn't eventually go flat even when worn just to walk in and keep nice. Sometimes its years later but always happens. One exception may be my vapormax. 3 years strong now. That being said for 250 they should take alot.
I bought some last week. Had them 3 days, & popped them on a tiny piece of glass on the pavement while walking 5mins up to the shop!! 🇬🇧
Fill them up with Ribena and freeze it.
great vid i've been asking for these shoes since forever on this channel (ik probably you wasn't buying it because my comment or anything but it feels good regardless :D).
great video, you should do the adidas 4dfwd2, they have a weird 3d printed sole
I had like normal 270 Airmax and they just popped after 2 years of wearing.
are these good if you want to be a little taller?
@@appelscha23 not really. More of the hight of AirForces. If you want something to look taller, buy the 720, i were like 4-5cm taller.
@@koniglp6473 thx for the advice. im 173cm and looking for something better than my old vans lol
@@appelscha23 I wouldn’t recommend airmax at all. They are too expensive and i really don’t like the look anymore. I would go for some Jordans, Dunks or Airforce’s…
@@koniglp6473 true, I can't get used to the bulky look of AM. but I like the extra height. maybe airforces then..
Why wouldn't you get out calipers to check the wall width size conparison to the bottom
That sidewall was probably more puncture resistant because it’s more flexible with no rubber bonded to it like the outsole
More Nike Air Max please!!!! 😁🙏🏼
