I like that you called makeup color coordination an artform because that just shows how subjective it is. I agree with your general points (and they are explained and visualised really well!!), but in some specific examples, I have different opinions. For example, at 6:28, I personally think the person to the left has the prettiest makeup and that it fits her more than the makeup the person to the very right is wearing. Even if the person to the left has darker eyebrows, it is perfect for her hair, and even if she has strong makeup, it utalises the perfect complimentary colors for her green eyes. The lines are thin and clean, so they don't overpower the irises at all - they pull you in! Similarily, at 11:00, it is said that dark eye colors and light hair do not match, but I think brown eyes and blone hair are a gorgeous match in a lot of cases. Mina's eyes are beautifully dark, so I would actually darken her eyebrows a tiiiiiny bit more so that the irises don't overpower the whole face. Then I would exchange the pink blush for a blush with warmer undertones to match her lipstick. In my opinion, these changes would make the look more cohesive again without having to change eye colors! The pretty photo to the right with blue contact lenses just makes pink-ish makeup pop on her.
True, I think the same applies to the lip makeup. For example, I have dark eyes and warm skin, but I never found berry shades very flattering on me.And that orange-red lipstick from the right looks neon, which isn't really for everyone, especially as a daily lip wear.
I think it's 'cause even if the eyebrown are darker, it matches with the image they are passing, like straight and pointy lines, short dark straight hair, the piercings is giving a strong presence. But the girl in right isn't matching the soft eyebrowns and hair (like clean girl) with the dark smok eyeliner/ eyeshadow
Since when did eye color become part of makeup in the sense that people set out to chamber their eye IR hair color to “look better”? Hair is one thing, but why would you change your eyes? Does no one vague themselves anymore? I have dark dark brown hair, blue eyes and skin so white I blind people in the sun. Should I change any of those things? Riddle me that.
I have bright big green eyes and now I know why whenever I tried to fill in my eyebrows it looked weird and a year ago I tried to pull off flashy eye makeup I looked horrible. now I stick to just mascara since my eyelashes are naturally long and occasionally I will go for a light purple eyeshadow which brings out my green eyes. I love this channel so much!
does anyone else think of how subjective these opinions are? i understand it's for balance but in my opinion the first 2 girls in 6:28 look great with the 'mismatched' look, as well as the girl on the left in 11:07. sometimes beauty is centred around uniqueness and contrast. personally i would love to embrace striking dark eyes with luminescent light hair rather than a plainer 'balanced' look but maybe that's just me.
i think the idea behind a lot of these rules are, is that your ideal look is very balanced and makes you look pretty in a very general sense if that makes sense, doesnt mean you cant play around with more striking looks! i think part of the fun of fashion and makeup is to go wild sometimes because why not :)

The dark eyebrows on that girl look so cute like Vanellope from Wreck it Ralph. The lighter brows are very serene looking; but the dark ones are really cute tbh
Also It's not just warm skin toned girsl should avoid dying hair light. Even cool skinned dark winter girls cannot dye hair their light. This throws off the contrast of rhe deep/dark winter.

I really absalutely freaking love that first heavy eye makeup at 4:40 But also I am watching these videos because I don't have any sense of style and stuff🐰
Makeup is subjective and these are just general guidelines that people should only follow loosely… makeup is an artform so none of these should be fixed rules
But what about people with naturally blonde hair and brown/hazel eyes, or naturally blue/green eyes with dark brown/black hair&eyebrows or tanned skin. If it’s natural the contrast looks really good. Also, this theory implies anyone with blue/green eyes should lighten their brows unless their brows are naturally light blonde. But if they also tan, the eyebrows would disappear if they’re too light and it will just look worse. This theory only applies if someone changes their hair from black and eye color from brown and has light-intermediate skin all year round, because then changing one thing and not the other creates an unnatural look. This video is more suited for koreans
My Dad has green eyes and black brows, I think it looks striking. Even my black brows are darker then my iris hazel brown color but it suits me fine. I don't think this rule works.
Well you have those features naturally, so maybe that’s why it’s different for you. The other features definitely should be taken into account tho to be able to make that look work. This is a primarily east asian makeup focused channel, so she may be talking a lot about what (east and southeast) asian features can pull off, and her tips may not necessarily apply that well to westerners.
Can you make a video series on color palettes for each seasonal color 🙏 I’m a deep winter but like lighter colors so I really want to find the best color clothing for me to wear
What brown/light brown shades Korean girls usually use for their hair? What brands? Doing it themselves at home or going to the salon? 🤔 Help!!!! + Long nose hiding make up please ❤😢
I will try this. I have so struggle with make up and my features. My skin is fair but golden, my hair is warm blond and my eyes are light blue, white in bright light. It is such a struggle to that look good with make up.
same here, mine are very dense and black so I guess my only option would be bleaching. but for people with more sparse eyebrows just choosing an eyebrow product in the desired shade will work
Don’t lighten them! Dark brows and light eyes are so beautiful! Look at someone like Adriana Lima, you would never tell her to bleach her eyebrows or wear brown contacts.
@@starminoui tbh I agree (I have dark brows and dark eyes myself though). but experimenting with makeup can sometimes make you feel better about the features you already have
I love this channel, it helped a lot in finding what looks best for me! That's why I'm asking this question; what if my eyes and eyebrows are very dark? Not just brown, but dark brown, I'm kind of confused as to what to do in that case cause the examples of brown eyes were still lighter than mine D:
Man... So you're telling me I either have to bleach my eyebrows or wear contacts..? :( I hate the idea that I can't naturally be pretty without literally changing the color of my features
Don't think so. For example, in one one of the images she chose, Audrey Hepburn, has brown colored eyes and lighter hair (opposite of what she says should be). I don't agree with everything in this one video tbh. People can have different combinations and look amazing, still. Light eyes and dark hair has been a classic beauty thing for decades, and still is!

3:48 there is something wrong when it comes to this part, in the pic her with light eyebrows with doesn't watch her hair and make her apears old and dull and give her unbalanced look however darker eyebrows than iris and darker hair look well with light eyes for example Brooke shields and Ana paula arósio I think her theory match with girls with light hair and ligther iris they can pull with lighter eyebrows to create the balance
This is very unhelpful for those of us with dark hair and light eyes naturally. Personally I have dark hair with honey toned eyes with black rims around the iris. Not everyone wants to dye their hair and change their eye color so then what?
Exactly, my hair is brown but very close to black and I have light blueish gray eyes. I would not look good with light eyebrows so this is very unhelpful 😅
You probably have very striking eyes, then. Don't mess with your brows at all. Just find an eyeshadow color that you feel suits you. Are you warm or cool toned, and work from there. I have light brown eyes and very black eyebrows, and pale, cool toned skin. Pink shadow works better for me than any shade of brown. Warm brown shades make me look tired. The advice here is going for the K Beauty look, which may or may not work with people who are not East Asian.
Hi! I was wondering if you would be willing to do research into guys’ makeup!! My boyfriend loves your videos and wishes there was a guy version of East Asian trends since he wants to try the makeup transformation trend that’s happening right now! 🥰💕
Ok then how do you lighten your brows impact? As someone with black hair and dark green eyes I don’t get how I can make them lighter. I wish they could look translucent like a lot of Asian beauty brows but I just have so many eyebrow hairs and they’re very thick.
Maybe it is just me, but I still don't know what to do. I have skin tone that is between tan and deep so lightening my eyebrows with eyebrow pencil isn't an option. My hair is a deep brown and not black but a lighter color for my eyebrows won't show up on my skin color. My eyebrow shape is thin, but my eyebrow hairs are thick and dark. So what should I do?
Hmmm well it seems like your natural brows already suit the features you described! But if you rlly are set on this, go for an eyebrow color that is light *relative* to your skin tone. You can dye your brows but i would read up on that and be very careful with it.
I disagree with the part about eyebrows color. In the middle east and many other cultures, thick dark eyebrows are considered a beauty standard. Perhaps you are very focused on East Asian features and beauty standards, idk. I love your videos tho.
So how do I do if my eyebrows are naturally thick and black and my eye colour is also really dark? It’s really hard to apply some makeup because my eyebrows are always dominating on my face xD
I hv big brown eyes, dark hair, medium skin tone and medium thin lips....... but I still look better in light colour rather than strong colours It looks rlly bad when i fill my brows or put a brighter shade of lipstick like red Also my visual weight acc to ur previous vid was -2 which is moderate to high Why is that so???
Hi! I'm asian but I have naturally thich eyebrows, and I don't really want to shave them off. But I do clean my eyebrows regularly so it doesn't look too bushy. Problem is I have thick black eyebrows and dark brown eyes. I'm not planning on doing anything to my eyebrows, and since the tip is to have eyebrows that are lighter than your iris, is there any way I can still make my eye makeup look more cohesive? Do I opt for lighter colored lenses or do I use a certain color for my eye makeup?
@@popcorn-ks7wj I would say your more lucky cause you can easily shape your eyebrows to whatever you want with the correct technique of an eyebrow pen, but I can’t
Hmm, not sure about this video. My natural eye color (partial-heterochromic gray + very light brown?) is a different lighter shade than my natural brows (light ash brown)? and then my brows are darker than my natural hair color (ashy blonde). I will say that extreme color stuff doesn't look great on me, so I tend to do more muted looks. but like, if when I have a tan especially I tried doing this I'd look really strange.
This technique is so wrong in so many levels. I get what your saying but we are not kpop idols. Western asians like Indians, persians we all have naturally gifted thick dark eyebrows. Why lighten them? And why should it be lighter than Iris? Dark makeup looks good on tan skin if you think about it. Plus your examples always revolve around kpop idols and influencers who have the perfect face structure and symmetry so naturally with/without makeup they all look good. If are confident with your techniques at least show it on real skin with real life people. Makeup on theory sounds good and all, in reality we don't know what looks good or not. It truly depends on people's attitude, skin tone, face structure to carry it🙂
One tip I picked up from makeup artist Ariel is using the Anastasia Beverly Hills tinted brow gel that has some shimmer in it! He uses it to soften and highlight the brows! I love bold brows when I wear my hair up but when I wear my hair down I use this trick to highlight my brows! I have medium-deep brunette hair. I use the one shade above my natural color. It looks very natural and doesn’t look like an totally different hair color. However I’m not sure if it would look unnatural on darker hair colors though. But it might be worth a try before you jump into using lightener on your brows!!
I enjoy and learn a lot watching a lot of dearpeachie's videos but on this video I got confused with the guide for someone with dark iris and dark hair in terms of eye makeup and lip color. As in, what if I didn't like a red shade and wanted to opt for a more natural lip color? And what if I didn't want strong eye makeup because it was mentioned to match the eyeshadow/eyemakeup intensity to my iris, but my iris is dark brown almost black? Would it throw off the balance if I chose a more subtle shade of lip color or a nude/light pink eyeshadow shade? Hope someone could help me with this!
These videos gave me a crazy glow up and im so thankful it happened.People treat me a whole lot better now that they consider me "pretty"😭

I'm from India and my dark natural black brows are genetically present on my face with darker iris ofc . So how do I balance it ?😅
You probably have very striking eyes, then.
What should i do if i have light eyes but more dark/medium skin and dark hair?
I disagree with the part about eyebrows color. In the middle east and many other cultures, thick dark eyebrows are considered a beauty standard. Perhaps you are very focused on East Asian features and beauty standards, idk. I love your videos tho.
So how do I do if my eyebrows are naturally thick and black and my eye colour is also really dark? It’s really hard to apply some makeup because my eyebrows are always dominating on my face xD
Just don’t enhance your eyebrows with any color
I’m a little confused I have dark blue eyes and fair skin with mousse hair colour what do you think I should dye my hair?
best channel out there thank you
I hv big brown eyes, dark hair, medium skin tone and medium thin lips....... but I still look better in light colour rather than strong colours
It looks rlly bad when i fill my brows or put a brighter shade of lipstick like red
Also my visual weight acc to ur previous vid was -2 which is moderate to high
Why is that so???
If I have hazel eyes, light skin( with freckles), dark hair and light (grayish) eyebrows, what colors of eyeshadows, hair, lips, lenses will suit me?
Do I opt for lighter colored lenses or do I use a certain color for my eye makeup?
why can't asians pull off thick brows though? it's a pretty common feature in south asia & west asia...
They were reffering to east asians
I’m East Asian, but my eyebrows are naturally REALLY thick. Can I ask how to deal with that? 😭
you could try plucking them or getting them waxed, if you want them lighter I'd get someone at a salon to bleach or dye them a lighter shade
omg I really jealous of u bec I have thin eyebrows
@@soggycheeto I think I’ll try bleaching my eyebrows a slight browner color cause I already pluck my eyebrows, but thank you
@@popcorn-ks7wj I would say your more lucky cause you can easily shape your eyebrows to whatever you want with the correct technique of an eyebrow pen, but I can’t
U should try lighter color brow gel or browcaras
What can I do if I have naturally very thick and dark eyebrows with lighter iris?
Thanks!!!
how do i make my eyebrows lighter if they are naturally dark and full? helpp
Is it possible to pluck your eyebrows to make them lighter? And if so, how? Also, these videos are super helpful so thanks for making them.
Be careful with plucking your eyebrows, they may not grow back
How do you Lighten your eyebrows? All I know is filling them in to make them look darker.
love this! thank you so much💖
How do I make my eyebrows lighter than eye color if I have green eyes and black hair 😭
It truly depends on people's attitude, skin tone, face structure to carry it🙂
This channel is based on Asian, so u guys should go to another channel
@@popcorn-ks7wj huh? I am Asian too
@@popcorn-ks7wj you mean EAST asian
You guys just wasting your useless time
light eyebrows can also sometimes make people appear older
I have light briwn hair whit blonde mixed in it my eye brows are dark brown and my iris middle brown how do i balance that
so I have very dark brown irises, black hair and eyebrows, does this mean I have to dye my eyebrows a lighter shade to get a less harsh look? 😞
Would bleaching your brows be a good way to lighten them?
Yes! I bleach them
yep!
