Hi, once again, thank you for your informative videos. I have replaced my door cards now but the inner weather strip provided by spider point here in Europe doesn't touch the glass so I don't see the point in installing it. Did you install them on your doors? I posted a question on the fiat forum regarding the re-installing of my soft top Frame triangular glass. I purchase the rubber channel from Spider point but it looks impossible to install. did you use setting tape to install your windows? Did you use glue to fix the chrome strips on the top of the doors? My next job is to install the new soft top with your excellent video tutorial. All the best from the French Atlantic coast. Charles
The weather strip is more to keep the glass from scratching on the way up and down. I didn't take the glass out of the frame. IIRC it is held in by the chrome trim on the front. Use a heat gun on the trim to remove. 3M weatherstrip adhesive on the channel.to insert the new stuff. Soapy water on the rubber to insert the glass. The trim is push on pinch mounted. You could remove and re-pinch and add some super glue to help hold it. The chrome strips for the top I screwed from the inside. They kept popping up.
ELDEST Builds yes sir the driver side door lock and how to take the mechanism out or replace it anything of that nature so I can get an idea on how to do it myself when the new key and lock arrive
Hi Eldest I've got 1/4 vented Front passenger+driver window latches/knobs, l have this 78/9 vehicle and really it's 79 but thank you for your seat welding experience as I know now I have 78 seats. Can you show the operation of those latches on the windows to assist me in operation / ordering the correct 2 latches in the states, also thank you for the part company contacts, Cheers Trevor from Australia. Keep up the good work and stay safe in Texas as we are hearing how bad it is there.
