Just rolls in the southern states. And here in Alabama we have a locally famous restaurant, Lamberts, known as the "home of the throwed rolls". These folks literally throw the fresh hot rolls to you. From across the dang restaurant. Me and my oldest son wait til they're a really long ways away and hold our hands up just to see how good the workers aim is. It's a riot.
I booked a guaranteed inside on Princess for 11 days to the Panama Canal for $509 (it was “last minute” about 6 weeks in advance). We received our cabin assignment around 1 week before the cruise in the morning. That evening around 5:00 p.m. I received an email from Princess asking if I wanted to upgrade to a balcony for $100 which we of course jumped on. So, including taxes and fees we sailed to the Panama Canal for around $900 each.
In regards to the nightlight tip. I usually turn on the TV to the channel with the camera view of the front of the ship. It's like having a window in the interior cabin so when the sun rises, the room slowly brightens. Nice since it's incredibly dark all the time in the room.
I never sail without Ginger tablets!! Perfect for motion sickness , upset stomachs. They're healthy and tasty and they work! Thanks for a great video. Beth
Extra tip on number 10 at 7:05 - the reason you'd want to book excursions with your cruise is that the people in charge of those excursions are in contact with your boat, and if you fall behind schedule or close to the parting time, they can call the ship to make sure you don't miss the ship leaving port. Once our bus tour went an hour behind schedule because the bus was overheating, and because we booked our excursion through the cruise line we were able to contact the ship to keep it docked an extra hour. Excursions booked outside of your cruise line typically don't have contact with your ship and if you run overtime you may not make it back on the boat.
An alternative to bringing a light is to leave the toilet light on all the time. Most cruise ships have a huge gap below the bathroom door so leaving that light on is more than enough to navigate the cabin at night.
Good video guys !! I also put a small tube of sun screen in my carry on bag for first day and also make up a very small capsule wardrobe eg. one dress shorts t shirt etc to cover me in case of miss placed luggage.
US we call them rolls. In some diners in New Jersey we have Cheese bread which are rolls stuffed with sweet cheese. I would love to have these on a cruise.
You two are freaking awesome! We love watching your videos and will invariably break out laughing while at the same time taking away new information. Thanks, gents!
Thanks for all these tips and vlogs! Hubs and I Going on our first cruise in 30 days, on Independence... a little overwhelming but SO excited! I appreciate you guys sharing the wisdom :)
Check which light switch does what before you go to bed and stick a bright coloured magnet beside the one you want to turn on, like the bathroom. Or get a dollar store LED lantern that you can carry and place on flat surfaces or even hang from a magnetic hook.
we Cruz done the carnival conquest just last week. We did not need a voltage adapter. Check with your cruise line, though, because you need and adapter specifically for a cruise, not a surge protector. At least for carnival.
We called bread, now. If is a crunchy hard crust is a french bread roll, if is just a soft bread is a plain dinner roll, or a yeast roll. But that will depends on the flavor of the dough itself.
Love you guys! You're so full of great info as well as hilarious and very entertaining! Now, the bread. I'm from Oregon, USA, and we call them various things depending on the type. Could be a biscuit, a roll, a bun or if baked in a muffin tin they would of course be muffins. (Like a cupcake but not made with cake batter. ) Keep up the great, entertaining work you two!
Love your info. Picking up on shore excursions, yes you are absolutely right booking excursions rather than thru cruise line can save you money, however just to let you know which has happened to me - if the cruise line needs to sail earlier than intended , if you are on a private excursion you would not necessarily know that. If you've booked thru your cruise line they would inform you accordingly and get you back to ship. I only knew my ship needed to move on only because my family member text me and the private excursion got us back in time. If we didn't know this potentially we we would be on our own. I have to say this is most likely very very rare but it has happened.
In Belgium we call them pistolets. Thanks for your channel guys, really love it and so usefull when you are booking a cruise. Even for frequent cruisers.
Excuse me for losing half a century, but the last time I was on a cruise it was on the P&O Canberra in the 60s and all meals, drinks including at the top restaurants were included. You didn't have to pay for anything. I gather thats changed?
When you get to your cabin figure out which light switch is for the bathroom and put a bit of duct tape or something with texture on the switch so you can feel for it in the dark.
Wondering if any Americans here are freakin out about bring a torch :) Don't you know a torch wouldn't be allowed? Here's my 2 cents to add to your great tips. Use the towels clips to hang up your wet swimsuits. Bring a small fan that also has a light on it! I love dual purpose items!
I know a few people who have been on carnival cruises. I’m trying to plan a carnival cruise. As far as staying on the ship, most people I know are under the impression that there is nothing to do or eat when the ship is docked??? Plz tell me they’re wrong...
If you are interested in spa services, there are great deals during port days. Also, the pools are less crowded during port days so I intend to take advantage of that next week.
Julie Carlee I’ve been on 4 Norwegian cruises and last month I went on my first carnival cruise. With Norwegian there was always allot of food to choose from. With carnival even at sea we were left looking for food. So I would say yes with carnival it’s true
We just returned from cruise on Crown Princess 😡😡. Probably will never do another cruise. Sadly not an enjoyable trip for us... felt herded... excursions booked thru Princess a real disappointment...
Got 4 kids and my wife and I.... It's sooooo hard to find a cheap inside room or anything really that has connectioned rooms... That way mommy and daddy can have some time at night... Lol... Anyways.. Can you guys do tipes and tricks for cruiseing with kids... Thanks guys... Cheers
Correction: some cruise lines do now allow you to bring a bottle of wine onboard free of charge, but you forgot to mention that the catch is, you have to pay a 15$ cork fee for 750ml bottle of wine or a 30$ cork fee for a 1500ml bottle.
@@Cruisewith I'm sailing with Norwegian escape on March 24th. One question they didn't answer was, what about if the bottle is a twist off and not sealed with a cork. Would they charge me a cork fee? Thanks for the response.
I’m planning my first cruise with my family of 4. And you mentioned booking a guaranteed cabin vs picking your room. If I booked a guaranteed cabin would I still get the upper Pullman’s in my room since there will be 4 of us in one room?
I'm just now watching this a second time. We're currently 2 weeks out and perhaps needing a few reminders of these tips. Plus, I find you two so damn entertaining! Love Love Love you guys!
Hey Liliana. Tips are automatically added to your account and shared among the crew. Also they are automatically added to any drinks and dining you buy onboard. Alcohol is included on some cruise lines. Who will you be sailing with?
Even if you not gonna take any shore tour with the cruise line, go watch the seminar about them! You will find out every “ not miss” for each port of call.
Please hit that subscribe button and the bell so that you are notified when we upload. We have so many exciting videos coming!
Can you bring Liquor or does it have to be wine for the bottle you can bring on ship with you?

David Mauskopf what are ginger tablets? Please share...
Raziya Harriat Tablets made of ginger.
Thanks for this. We did skip buffet on our first, just a couple weeks ago,. We boarded on Deck 7 and walked into O'Sheehans and stayed there for lunch
I hardly ever comment on anyone's videos but I just want you guys to know I DIED when you said you were Grey's Anatomys characters 🤣
How often do you two get your eye glasses mixed up?
You have no idea! thankfully we have very different prescriptions!

Worked for us
Thats what we do
I agree
In the US we call smaller bread that is made to eat with butter during a meal rolls. The larger ones that are made to make sandwiches are buns.
Good video guys !! I also put a small tube of sun screen in my carry on bag for first day and also make up a very small capsule wardrobe eg. one dress shorts t shirt etc to cover me in case of miss placed luggage.
We call them dinner rolls or just rolls in Brooklyn
Tina Blingz same in Kansas!
Same on Long Island
Another great show. By far you are both the best cruise vloggers🎬. Will still keep watching even after my cruise in March to the Caribbean ✈🛳.
I really enjoy watching you guys. Great information.

Hi @cruisewithben&david, I'm a kiwi that lives in Australia. I've always called them either bread rolls or dinner rolls.
You guys are wonderful. I subscribed halfway through the video, because I don't want to miss seeing more from you!

I took glow sticks and lined the step (floor) below the head, this way during the night we could use the facilities and didn’t need a light.

Can you do a video on how to book local excursions and what they were like.
you guys are great 😀put a smile on my face.. have a great day.... thanks...
Great tips, guys! One thing: On Norwegian, just know that if you book a guarantee cabin, you don't get any of the free at sea promotions...
In Belgium we call them pistolets. Thanks for your channel guys, really love it and so usefull when you are booking a cruise. Even for frequent cruisers.
Delightful and informative!

great tips! I have been on a bunch of cruises. just found you guys, subscribed!
We just returned from a Holland America Caribbean Cruise. They are now charging $10 for an extra entree in the dining room ☹️
Tricia Barone are you serious didn’t know Holland is charge more for extra entree 😪
Hi guys. Do MSC allow the bottle of wine in your cabin?
Excuse me for losing half a century, but the last time I was on a cruise it was on the P&O Canberra in the 60s and all meals, drinks including at the top restaurants were included. You didn't have to pay for anything. I gather thats changed?
Your means in the Main Dining Room and buffet are included. Meals in all the other restaurants are extra.
In Louisiana we call everything bread or rolls lol
You guys are so cute and funny -- thanks! Cruising to Bermuda this year.
When you get to your cabin figure out which light switch is for the bathroom and put a bit of duct tape or something with texture on the switch so you can feel for it in the dark.
Such a simple but effective idea. I love it.
@@Cruisewith Glad I could help.I'm going on my 10th cruise later this month.
Thanks guys for the great information 😊
Love it. Thank you
Thanks guys for good info 👍
I live in Arizona and I call them dinner rolls or just rolls
Just discovered you fellas, and I love you. Subbed.
Have you ever been on a world cruise and any advise would be helpful. X

A breadroll is a pistolet in my country. Or we call it 'broodje' wich is just 'little loaf of bread'
We call them hard rolls and you can order any Entree as an appetizer also
I just love you guys!!
I can't order more courses I ate too much bread! :) Oh how can I resist!

Buns or rolls, sometimes baps or dinner rolls but they are usually used for certain types of rolls
We just returned from cruise on Crown Princess 😡😡. Probably will never do another cruise. Sadly not an enjoyable trip for us... felt herded... excursions booked thru Princess a real disappointment...
Don't let this deter you from cruising. While some lines are like this, It is definately not universal.
Any thoughts on small boats like jewel of the sea

Question?! Are we suppose to tip waitresses/ waiters on cruises? I’m going on a cruise for my 5 year anniversary and I’m just curious!
Also! Do they charge for booze during dinner?

Cruise with Ben & David carnival
Bread bun in Durham 😁
Do you have more info about cruise lines not allowing power banks? Haven’t heard that before
Ncl will not let you. They took mine before they delivered my luggage to my cabin.
You guys are so good.. I like to hear you.. kisses
What currency do you take to the Caribbean?
We take US Dollars .
I just booked with Royal! They assigned me a cabin! If i call and asked them for a guaranteed cabin will i save money?
Hey Luis. If you have already booked you would have to cancel and re-book incurring any cancelation fees.
great tips thank you xx
tip #1, HELL YES!!!!! tip #5, power strip!
we call em just "rolls", some companies call em "dinner rolls" when you buy like the frozen kind
I'm from Canada and I call that a bun
I call it carbs its good but bad for the waste line 😂
