I would be buying the soda package for my cruise. So I subtract the $10 soda package price from the deluxe price and that means even less alcoholic drinks that need to be purchased. Which makes even more sense to buy the deluxe. Especially when the base price is $52 on sale. So $52-$10=4 cocktails. Ya I can do that. Great video.
If you watch ur cruise planner you can get it for as low as $43 for longer cruises to $46 for short cruises per person per day. Starbucks is included as well as red bulls
If you call Royal Caribbean and tell them that the other person in your room doesn’t want to purchase the deluxe drink package and give them some excuse(they don’t drink/to much money) they will give you and exemption they just have to purchase the refreshments package.
Very nice video. You really presented the information well. Great transitions! What many people fail to factor in is port days, etc. I’ve found when we spend most of the day ashore we can’t hit that breakeven number. The same holds for longer cruises, as time passes we’ve found we drink less. We did an experiment in which we did not get the drink package but ordered as many as we wanted, even experimented with unknown drinks. As a result we found we still saved money.... my son, on the other hand, got his monies worth. Happy Cruising!
Heading out on 26th for Eastern Caribbean Cruise. If I`m not mistaken there is an 18% gratuity as well that I did not hear you mention. And yes they have sales as we got buy 1 get the other 50% off.
I purchased the drink package and it was worth it. I had my Starbucks every morning, bottles of water during the day and lots of adult beverages. Just be careful not to drink to much. Btw my mother did not have to purchase the package, because is prescribed medication in which she couldn’t drink any alcohol, I thank RC for not charging her. It was worth the money.
Me and my wife got the deluxe drink package for 20% off for our New Years cruise. It was so worth it not having to worry about a surprise bill at the end of the cruise. Plus we were able to sample many drinks and if we didn’t like it we moved onto something else. We are wine drinkers so we had a couple of glasses at lunch and dinner. Then a couple of nice fruity drinks in between. Toss in our bottles of water and coffee we ended up getting our monies worth.
They have the ultimate unlimited drink package that was $165 for a 5 day -4 night cruise on enchantment of the seas and included everthing. The only restriction was you could only get 1 drink every 10 mins. It was well worth it.
Great info guys! Ill be taking my 14th cruise this fall(Oct 2019) and I have never purchased the drink package. Unless you're a hard core drinker, I wouldnt do it. I know 6 beers or 4 glasses of wine doesn't seem like a lot but it really is. Most people are counting on the idea that they'll be up very earl and drink from sun up to sun down but that isn't the case. During a cruise, most folks dont even get up until 11am or noon. Assuming you're on a 7 day cruise if you think you're going to "pound" 7-10 alcoholic drinks per day for 7 days you are highly mistaken. Remember, the drink package is for every day of the cruise and is non refundable. What if you get sick in the middle of the cruise? Yes folks, this happens a lot because most people over due it on the first night. Then they spend day 2 and 3 recovering. lol What I would suggest is purchase a case of water and soda, to be delivered to your cabin before your cruise. Pace your self with the alcoholic drinks through out the day. I usually have 4-6 drinks a day and I usually skip one or two days because Im not a heavy drinker. Folks, its a long cruise and being 'hung-over' for a week is not a good feeling especially when you're on a moving ship.
Few things - Going on the Harmony is the Sead in November for 7 days. The drink package was $46 per day and the total service charge was $56. Came out to be $54 per day with service fees and taxes. Also, not every adult needs the package. Its listed in the website that there are exclusions. For example, AA member, pregnant adult, they even state "for other reasons". You just need to call customer service.
Thanks guys for that info very useful. We drink around 3 or 4 lattes a day several bottle water and fresh juice. Last cruise on oasis had the deluxe drinks well worth it for us would not say we were big alcohol drinkers but made it easy to have cocktails or a beer whenever I wanted on.
Drink pacakges are a rip off to me. My husband drinks but I do not therefore, we are FORCED to purchase two drink packages at the same rate. RC needs to make this adjustment. Not everyone wants to be decitful by sharing.
You don't have to buy it, he can just pay for his individual drinks. I doubt he would spend nearly $140 a day on drinks, plus your not on ship every day.
Norwegian is Better. You can get Free at sea promotions. Your hubby could get unlimited Bar and you could get, Wifi, Specialty Dining, Free Shore excursion credit or a spa package--- Did I mention its free?? Norwegian is the best
Tim Bretthauer Correct, however they will require you to purchase the Refreshment package. My husband and I had this same issue because I don't drink. We sailed Harmony of the Seas 2 weeks ago and I had to purchase the Refreshment package in order for him to get the Deluxe package. The Refreshment package was still a waste of money for me because I drank water most of the time and maybe soda 3 times during our entire 7 day cruise.
On some ships Royal Caribbean is now offering a shareable 10 drink card for around $79. They don’t offer it the first day but usually around the third day they will offer it.
They usually offer this around the 3rd day of sailing. They do mention it in your daily planner. Please remember that they only offer it on certain ships. Just google Royal Caribbean 10 drink card for more info. Thank you

Thank you for the information. Sorry, I’m new on cruising. Let say, If I purchase the refreshments package, can I ask for 3 or 4 bottles of water with me on the port days at the same time? (Drink them during the day time when I onshore)
No. One drink at a time. But there is nothing stopping you going to two different bars. We just grab one every time we are going back to the room and keep them in the room for port days.
Wife and I get the top drink package, peace of mind.......the drink packages do not cover getting a case of water for your room. That sucks. If you’re a smart drinker, you can BEAT THE BOAT and put yourself ahead of the bill for the win each day. There are plenty of places to try great drinks on board. We like to try different drinks on the boat. We order things we’d normally never try but, they’re paid for already so...might as well! Water, water, water...I can drink 5-8 waters a day myself and if I am working out, walking around a lot....I can kill off a gallon or so no problem. Drink package takes care of any worry. If I drink with the wife, we can go with piña coladas and island drinks pretty much all day, maybe a beer or wine or two with dinner as well as hit the Coke machine a few times and there’s no worry at all. The days you’re on shore, the first day and last day are the harder days to beat the boat but, it can be done!

Heading on a Mediterranean cruise on RCI with 2 adults and 3 teenagers (18, 18, and 16) for 7 days. Wife and I aren't really that big of on alcoholic beverages. We would likely do the soda package or the package that doesn't include alcohol. My son (18) loves soda and my daughters would likely drink water and/or juice. The wife and I love coffee, smoothies, and shakes as does my son (minus the coffee). Any recommendation on whether a drinks package is better than going ala carte? Thanks.
I just purchased the refreshment package... fresh squeezed juice, coffee/lattes, soda, non-alcoholic cocktails and bottled water. About $170pp with gratuities included.
Are there spots on an RCCL ship to purchase "premium coffee" other than at Starbucks? We will be cruising on the Adventure of the Seas next year and this information could make or break the beverage package decision. Thanks!
It's a bummer that both people that share a room have to buy packages. My wife doesn't drink so it makes no sense to purchase for her just so I can have a drink. I guess if it is a 7 day cruise for eg. then $910 should be enough for one person to get enough booze into them. (or is it???)
My hubby doesn't drink. I called royal and explained why. They allowed just myself to have the deluxe but he had to have the refreshment package instead- works well for us!
Shelley Freeborn I was going to say pretty much the same thing. I called and explained and they said the non drinker had to at least buy one of the non alcoholic drink package.
if we only drink juices and coffee then which package suits us. also you mentioned that the package has to be purchased for every adult. what about kids, because our kids will be sharing with us the juices for sure.
Hey Hasseb. If you only want to drink the free juices and free coffee from the buffet then you may not want a package. However, if you would like the premium coffee and the freshly pressed juices you will need the Royal Refreshment package. It's only the Deluxe Alcoholic package than have to be purchased by each adult in the cabin.
it's a bit confusing since the soda package is for kids as you mentioned in the video however the other packages is not considered for kids so I have to pay for adults So when do I have to pay for kids. is it when they are more than 12 years old or when they are 18 years old or 21 years old?
I found a hack for the deluxe package. If you buy the package on the boat, the other party in your cabin won’t have to buy the package. Either way, I still don’t think it’s worth it.
roxanne remi if you are to buy a drinks package, buy it before your cruise as it costs more on board, otherwise if you book cruise early enough then RC offer various benefits to fill the ship, shop around, happy hunting
Fresh juicex2 each morning, 2 espresso drinks, 2 bottle waters. I could do that by noon. Then if wine is $12.50 a glass I could easily do 4. The problem is my wife can only do half of that.
Hey guys! I will be sailing for the very 1st time on Freedom of the Seas in April. I will not be purchasing the deluxe drink package, so can you give me an idea of an average drink price WITH gratuity? Also, can you pay for each drink using cash?
Tauries77 My first cruise was on freedom as well. Its a great ship although a little dated. I have to ask though, why are you not buying the deluxe package?
This is what I want to know! Most bartenders are light handed and sometimes I jus want a shot along with my drink as I actually enjoy the taste of certain Tequilas. So if I want a Teq Sunrise and a shot of patron can I get that at once?
We'll probably spend $100-$150 between the two of us on a 5 day cruise. If I get the drink package, I'll miss the whole cruise because I'll be drunk the whole time trying to get my money's worth. Then get off the ship heading home hung over.

On my Carnival cruise in 2017 there was a 24-hr drink limit - I think 15 in a 24 hr period - you also had to wait like 10 or 15 minutes between drink orders - does RC have anything like that in the package rules?
Not that we are aware of!

No. RC does not have limitations on the number of drinks per day or how quickly you get them. Although they will only serve 1 drink per card. roxanne remi if you are to buy a drinks package, buy it before your cruise as it costs more on board, otherwise if you book cruise early enough then RC offer various benefits to fill the ship, shop around, happy hunting
Guys...love all your videos. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the wall behind you! Is it an actual wall or are you using a green screen?
It's a real wall!
You got the lighting and colors just right...good job!
Hi B and D we are also on spectrum of the seas from Dubai to Singapore so sorry you won't be with us would love to share a drink with ye xx
Have a great time John! We where so tempted by that itinerary.
Hi Tauries77. Everything onboard is cashless so you have to use your room key to pay. You will settle your bill at the end of the sailing.
Tauries77 My first cruise was on freedom as well. Its a great ship although a little dated. I have to ask though, why are you not buying the deluxe package?
@@double5338 I am traveling with at least 1 person who doesn't drink and even though I drink alcohol I don't think it's worth it.
I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE A CABIN WITH THESE GUYS
Somebody needs to get out more often!
Can the room service charge be explained? I understand it as being $12.95 per meal. I hope not.
Alexis Winter it’s a service charge per order. You can order as much as you want per order.
There's daily gratuity per person...
My record is 22 shots and 9 beers in one day, and all of the money that I “Saved” was spent on Rolaids and Tums.
How many drinks can you order at one time?
This is what I want to know! Most bartenders are light handed and sometimes I jus want a shot along with my drink as I actually enjoy the taste of certain Tequilas. So if I want a Teq Sunrise and a shot of patron can I get that at once?
Norwegian has a better drink package it’s unlimited for the whole entire cruise
perfect timing can use this to convince Sophie to come on the indy p :D
I’m soooo please I’ve just paid £37.50 per person per day or the deluxe drinks package. It’s going to save me a fortune lol
I paid 18 bucks per person per day. I don't know how but it was available and I snack it up. The deluxe package!
We're going on a cruise in March with RCCL and my wife was quoted $52 pp pd. Is this without tips included?
Yes this will be excluding gratuity.
Thank you guys.
Looking forward to meet ing you on Crouse out of Dubai
Lol I thought I was the only “Saverio” in the world... 3:46
I've never seen RC do deals on drink packages I wish they would $325 for a 5 day cruise is insane
Hey Philly. They do release offers throughout the year. Make sure you follow our Facebook page where we post when they are offering a discount.
If I get the soda package does that mean every guest in my room has to as well?
Yes
No, that rule just apply for the deluxe package.
Unfair that you can't purchase Starbucks with the package. That would be my sole reasoning to do so along with my fresh squeezed juices and smoothies.
We'll probably spend $100-$150 between the two of us on a 5 day cruise. If I get the drink package, I'll miss the whole cruise because I'll be drunk the whole time trying to get my money's worth. Then get off the ship heading home hung over.
BUMMER ALERT!**Can't break up the days for the drink package. Must pay every day that you are cruising.**
We get the drinks package so we don’t have to worry about the cost while sailing
Yeah man buy one UP PACKAGE AND SHARE 100 DRINKS WITH YOUR WHOLE FAMILY 🤣🤣🤣🤣
ROYAL CARIBBEAN doesn't have enough booze on board to make you look like Pamela Anderson, but good luck with that one
Hahaaaaa no offence to Pam but no thanks
He meant to say *Johnny Depp
