ECHO SRM 225 stopped working in the middle of a job. An easy carb rebuild will get it back in shape.

- If your Echo(or any other small engine) doesn't work, it's going to be a carb problem 95% of the time. I check for spark, then go straight to the carb every time. a weed eater carb rebuild is easier than you might think.
Thanks for watching! If this helped, SUBSCRIBE! It's free and it helps us make more (and better) videos. I do my best to respond to all comments. Thanks
I just don't have the patience Bill for rebuild with 2 cycle! So I'm here for the Hart bit set and Not that COKE! Cool shirt also, Team Pepsi🤣
Big Son, i thought you joined team tequila! 😮🍹🍹
@bigsonslawncare I usually suggest replacing them with a new carb if you don't want to fool with little parts and gasket alignment but 90% of the "new" carbs I use are actually rebuilt leftovers from a different video.
Good one Bill. I recently fixed an SRM 210 with a Amazon carburetor. I'm planning to rebuild the original on the next one. 👍
Thanks, I like to keep rebuilt carbs handy but I didn't have one for this one so I went ahead and did it on video.
I rarely have success with 2 cycle rebuild , occasion will clean will work, but for a few bucks more a new carb is the way togo
Do you use an ultrasonic or carb cleaner?
The fuel block on this type also has 2 holes, make sure they are clear if the bulb is slow coming back or hard to push.
That Echo trimmer don't know who its messing with 💪
It didn't even fight back this time, it went smoooooth. I have a pair I picked up today that might make for 1 good trimmer, half the parts are broken on each of them so there might be some cussing in that video 😲🤣
Bill when you took the throttle off, inside the carburetor there is a roller bearing, nice video
I know, but if I mention every little detail I get called out for talking too much in the videos. 🤣
(if I had my way, they would be an hour long 😁)
It's always the carb Bill🤣🤣
@barryewalt3250 It really is. Around here we say "if you know carbs, you can fix anything". This one was well cared for and stored correctly so it made it 13 years without work.
Love the shirt. Not what you want your aircraft mechanic to be wearing though!
Probably not 🤣
Are you getting too many screws to take off and to put back on? I wouldn’t remember how to do that ha ha ha.
The trick is to isolate the parts so none wander off. It can drive you crazy when you buy a kit that has replacement bolts in it, and they are still sitting there at the end.
Lol i agree with big sons bill i dont have the patience
@DIYVariety I try to throw that into videos. For most people, a quick carb replacement is the right way to go. 👍
Another one saved from the scrap yard. Well done Bill! Bad weather here last night. 3.5 inches of rain and 85 MPH winds. Not good! 👍🎥🇺🇸
Sounds rough, we don't get a lot of rain here. it was only 102 yesterday but it is going to warm up to 104 or 105 today.
Here in PA it hasn't rained in over a week or more. My grass is a crunchy brown
@garyalensr All my rain comes from the sprinklers. A bit pricy to run them(10 zones, 98 heads), but it's either that or cactus 🙂
@@GuysPlayingWithTools I hear ya my friend. We're supposed to get rain today, but the weather people don't know what they're talking about. I just checked and it's been well over 2 weeks since it last rained. The bad part is that it's been in the high 90s and unbearable humidity
@@garyalensr we have had alot of rain here in Iowa. I mow every 3-4 days. Its the high winds and tornadoes that we dont need! Our farmers will have a huge crop harvest this fall so we can make more ethanol to keep the small engine mechanics in business! 🚜🌽🚜🌽
Bill 💸 the 2 cycle man😂
I will admit I love working on 2 strokes 😁
@@GuysPlayingWithTools yes you do love working on those pieces of lawn care equipment bill 💸💵
Good fix and a Kobalt battery trimmer works too. Happy Week, Pal!
I dunno... I don't think I would trade a battery trimmer for this bad boy. 😁
@@GuysPlayingWithTools I wouldn't either until I HAD to! And it's HERS anyway!
@@lewiemcneely9143 My wife is pretty sure at least half of mine are hers. 🤣
@@GuysPlayingWithTools ALL are hers. I just mow stuff.
You married well. 🙂
Good job Bill. 👍
Thanks John! 😁
You let @bigsonslawncare off the hook today, what's that about? LOL
Letting him catch a break Bill, I was harassing him on every video and I think it was growing old to him. 🤣
@@Big_Johns I dunno... I think we are nicer to him than his wife is. 🤣
