I have a 1436 Tracker, 15hp mercury. I built a removable wooden deck, installed a foot power switch for my trolling motor which is mounted on the front with a steel bracket I made. During duck season I remove the deck and fishing gear, load the boat down with decoys and gear plus me and up to two other guys. The more weight you add, the better it rides. Without weight, its like flying down the river in a tuna can and even a little chop creates a rough ride. Fishing or duck hunting, I can slip through shallow water that many other boats cant. Love my little boat
Good stuff my friend, Man what a great day to be out on the water. Looks like a beautiful day and having the option to use the boat with the bigger motor makes is more portable and usable. Thank you for taking the time to share this with us and I hope you have a blessed week. Dale
I have a 1442 jon boat with a 25 hp evenrude . I put the fuel tank and battery in the front. I am 6' 1" and I weigh 335 lbs. Very stable with this set up but gonna add Float Pods on Aft to get more clearance from the water line which is about 10" now. Very cool boat and should feel comfortable taking it in bigger water with the Pods. Oh, the Whale Tail on the cavitation plate is the best 50 bucks spent ever. Boat is on plane right outta the hole!
@@BentRodBassin I can't say but I have lost a couple ball caps to the wind. Guess I gotta find that APP people been talkin about to actually see what it does.
I would change that cheap fuel line with a premium line from advance or some other parts store with a inline fuel filter between your pump bulb and motor . Especially if you're running ethanol through that gray line. Looks like the one that has a plastic liner inside of the hose which the ethanol will eat eventually.
I always put the maximum HP engine that's rated for the boat. Unless you plan on fishing the many 10 HP limit lakes which I do often. There are many older 10 HP or less engines out there. Don't get sucked into buying a new 4 stroke. Save your money !!! The older 2 stokes work just as well or better than the new 4 strokes, and weight less !!! You can get them for around $400 or less, sometimes way less.
I've got a 1436 Lowe Lake maximum HP rating is 20hp on the one I have right now I have 9.9 Suzuki 9.9hp it runs around 18mph. I just have removed some of the wood the previous owner had on it to lighten it up a bit need to get it out on the water maybe this weekend!
I’m sure it’s stable, but why doesn’t anyone show stability in choppy water or dealing with boat wakes…good review wrong conditions Anything is stable with no wind or waves

Some great boats especially on that skinny water!

That's a real nice setup, how fast is the top speed on that rig!?

Some nice upgrades! Looking good 👍
Good times, I just subscribed!

Great tip, I'll definitely look into it!

Awesome video, having this visual has helped a lot of people. What is your draft?
Nice and smooth, minimal .

Oh heck ya, with some weight reduction and the right trim, that puppy should scoot!!
i have a 1240 lowe with a 9.9 and two ppl can stand at the same time no problem.
how fast can you go with that setup?
Crusing at a clean 27 mph
Do what I did ,I added pontoons to make it super stable
That would be legit!
I have one and it scares the crap outta me I am looking for a 48 wide one
48 would be super nice and stable 👍
So 14 foot 48 is pretty stable? I'm about to buy one all electric for my local reservoirs.
Yes, the wider the better. 48 is a good size width
@@BentRodBassin even at 14 foot she's stable? A assume maybe even more stable with batteries then gas outboard?
Right , extra weight helps a bit.
What’s up man? I love the Jon boat change man!! My new video is out so if you could please check it out go do it man! That would be awesomene! Thanks!

Anyone use it duck hunting?
