But the older brother, what happened to him? Well, if you ask me, he's been apart of this series since before we knew Purple Guy existed. After the thing that happened with his brother he was probably sent to juvie or something and spent a lot of time there before being released under a new identity. The identity: Mike Schmidt. Knowing about what's happened to his sister since then and through some means knowing what's been going on at the pizzeria he returns, wondering if he can find the animatronic that could very possibly contain the soul of his now-dead little brother. Always wondering when he sees them "Is it you?" Eventually though, he gets his answer. "It's me." The two brothers are reunited and then- well, who knows? The game crashes on you so whatever became of their reunion is up for grabs.

I'm just banging my head on the table as I rewatch this knowing there are 2 purple guys, William and his son Michael
William isn't actually purple that's just his colour, Micheal actually becomes purple by having enard spaghetti in him or its the other way around lol
I thought I was the only one
Micheal turns purple over time because of his rotting skin. The reason he's still 'alive' is because he is theorised to be the crying child who died. William is known for trying to recreate dead people as robots in the novels so the micheal we play as in SL is actually a robot or the scooper had remnant on it. Ennard is not a substitute for his organs, he is just a skinsuit. Over time, his skin rots and turns purple until he eventually yeets ennard out of his body. Ennard does not keep him from rotting.

@@rey4874 i thought william had three kids but didnt claim his first son michael which is why hes still alive and the bite of 83 is another child his youngest son who he tortured (fnaf 4) to hate animatronics bc his sister got killed by baby. the foxy older brother was an exoskeleton created to scare him hence the white eyes and mask on at all times and how he ended up being killed by the freddy suit. the i will put you together is michael saying it to his sister since baby told him they had to help her (the fake ending and how ernard gets into his body not williams in the ultimate custom night)
The connection between the path to Fredbear's and the facility... Connects to Baby's room.
Baby is confirmed in the books to be able to disguise herself as more human via sound illusion disks and those weird pins (shown in-game, thus in-game canon)
What if that green-eyed red-head pigtail girl... IS baby, trying to dissuade the crying child from going by telling him scary stories?
Baby could be a lot more of an active player in the series than we think, especially with the wild suspicions on her with Security Breach (the vr sisters, robot life-stage replacements, etc)

I've always thought about what if the games weren't one story but different stories under one banner and maybe even in the same place like the goosebumps books and this episode alone feels like how that would play out kinda and that's why this is one of my favorites because despite it no longer being as true or as accurate it feels narratively beautiful. Thank you matpat for bringing us theories we'll never forget.

Crazy how Mat was reflecting then on the first game just shows how innocent he truly was back in 2016. I remember when this theory came out. I remember the old days too. We were so, so naive to the truth. There's so many new things, so many hair-pulling things to know now, it's pretty daunting. Odd to think that we thought *this* was a lot.

7:01 I read all the 3 books from FNAF novels and I find just as funny to see MatPat talk about stuff from the first book as if they were hint for the games when some of them are actually hints for the the third book. The eskeleton he mentions is actually Baby's endo, as we learn in the third book, so, well, he kinda got it right, he just messed up in which media this info would be important to, since in the games the fact that Henry built Baby and William stole his stuff is never mentioned or important.
I remember bein scared shitless back when this came out watching it at 2 in the morning

And William just killed the kids because 1 he found it fun and 2 he was upset that Chris (the crying child) died. therefore William is in fact a horible person. So in conclusion this theory is wrong toataly WRONG. Because why would bidy bab say "you don't know what we've been through" if William HIMSELF tortured the funtimes?!

trying to beat this game again, even though the video is old, it helped me understand the connection to fnaf 4

You actually we play as Mike, William’s son. His name was on the type pad. William made a huge mistake leading to his death and so his son, mike worked to clean up his father’s mess, but instead ended up meeting his demise.
William’s mistake was killing all those children which ended up killing him
