Born and raised in Florida, jobs are very low paying. When I moved to D.C. after high school I noticed the education and opportunities were way more abundant. I was able to land a six figure salary job shortly after. I've tried to move back to south Florida every couple of years just applying for jobs and looking for houses. Jobs especially in Tech are limited greatly, If you had income streams from various places, I'd say moving back to Florida was a no brainer, but solely living on a w2 no where near the income you can make in larger metro areas. Every job Ive had after 21 was a six figure++ salary but couldn't find anywhere in Florida that could provide an income like that.
I live in Florida. 3 bedroom, 2 bath house, 2 car garage on 80' x 120' lot. Property taxes per year $632. House insurance per year $1,356 per year. House is paid for. Truck is paid for. No complaints. How about name a state that doesn't have a disaster. Name a big city that doesn't have traffic congestion.
Moved to Orlando from Toronto a year before the pandemic (man the timing was perfect). High-end gated community - my house would be 2-3x the price in southern Ontario. Everyone complains about housing costs but it's way cheaper than the west coast (and Canada). Can't break your back shoveling sunshine! Love Florida!!! Best state in the country
@CanadianFloridaMan I appreciate you sharing that, and I'm glad to hear you were fortunate in your Florida investments. It's always nice when things work out well, especially with investments. Making smart financial decisions can really pay off.
I might make a video soon about why people are leaving California, but trust me, the current video is just an analysis that may or may not appeal to some people. it is far from political.
This seems like some kind of propaganda and/or AI generated video. All the financial aspects are happening in every state so that's not accurate, it makes me wonder what else is incorrect.
@@Marchant2 According to who the video guy? According to the latest data I could find on censusdotgov, the state with the most people moving out was California and Florida was the state with the 2nd largest number of people moving in.
This is exactly what we're discussing, and it's a challenge that many people face. I truly hope you are able to find rewarding work that provides a suitable income.
@@Geo_story I live in Vancouver BC we can Golf almost year round except for a few days , We can also at times Golf then Drive up to one of the local Ski hills and Ski within 1 hour or less , never so co,d here in the winter just up in the mountains and great summers for swimming
@@Geo_story yes the west coast very mild at sea level , we Have the extension into British Columbia of the North American Desert , Where it hit 121 degrees three years ago , this is just a three hour drive east of Vancouver, Vancouver and Seattle being so close to each other very simular weather
That's true, coastal cities almost always have a milder climate than inland cities. That's why the coastline from Seattle all the way up to Vancouver tends to have more moderate weather. Enjoy your time there
Every “fact” in this video could be applied to just about any other state. They are all generic. I have lived in the same Atlantic beach town for almost 50 years. The sea level has not changed at all. There is no more hurricanes than before. The only reason homes get flooded is bad housing developments draining wetlands. I wish some people would leave. This video is completely useless.

We too own our home on 5 acres, and love Florida. We have good jobs and live comfortably. My husbands family settled here in 1842.

Florida had one of the highest out-migrations of any state recently. Keep up.

I live in Florida at the moment. Definitely don't ❤it. Especially the extremely low pay and weather. I moved because of COVID in 6/2020.

Dumb video. People are not leaving Florida.
If you want to stay in Florida or leave, that is your choice. The perspective presented in the video is suitable for some and not suitable for others.

Fake news. Everyone is moving to florida.
Yes, some people move to Florida while others leave it. Each person has their own reasons.
Fake news I literally bought a house a week ago in central Florida and all I can say people are buying houses like hot cakes!
Congrats on buying your new home in Florida
What rise in sea level. Where is the data? More BS.
You can check the Florida Climate Center website and verify the statistics over the past 20 years.
To hot with the humidity in the summer you can’t be outside long ,
That's right

The weather is colder in the north, but the cold is preferable to the heat, and Canada has many wonderful temperate climate places ❤️❤️
