    Smothered Steak Recipe:
Season Chuck steak with season salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper
    Massage well
Place in a bowl and add 2 tbs of Worcestershire Sauce.
Allow to marinate overnight or for at least 5 hours
Cut 1 large onions into small pieces
Add 1 cup of beef broth or water to a bowl. Add 3-4 tbs of flour and stir until lumps are gone and slurry is smooth.
Coat steak in flour and shake off excess flour
Place a pan over high heat, add 1/4 cup of oil and fry steak on both sides until crispy and brown then remove and sit aside
In the same pan add onions and fry them for 3 minutes..... add 2 beef bouillon cubes, then add the beef broth and flour slurry.... and 3 additional cups of water.
Then place fried steak into pan.
Cook on low heat and cover with a top (don't fully cover it) leave a little space to release air.
Simmer for approximately 1 hr and 30 mins or 2 hours until thick gravy forms and steak becomes very tender
Best served with mashed potatoes or white rice

Also, if one wants a darker gravy, one can add a half a cap of Kitchen Bouquet Browning & Seasoning Sauce. This little item only costs about $2 and it lasts forever!

Wine (Lambrusco) works great for beef recipes. I cook my home made spaghetti sauce (cooked with a chuck roast till falling apart) until very thick, then add a cup of Lambrusco to thin the sauce right before serving. Comes out great.

Hey Phillyboy Jay. I got a question: How did you get your steak cut? Did you get these cut from the butcher shop? The steaks you got are not cubed steaks.

I tried this recipe it is very good but I didnt find in my 40 yrs of cooking that the steak needs to marinade over night a couple of hours is just fine for any meat. Of course if you have the time then do marinade all your meats over night but if not a couple of hours is good enough.
