Same here in Malta :) most 2 door base model Starlet's got converted to Glanza's and every car with the same platform as the Starlet (like Tercel's and Paseo's) got a 4efte swap 😁

These were hugely popular in Ireland in the 2000s. Not so much anymore but they still have a cult following and prices are on the rise. I had a 1999 Glanza V as my first turbo car. They are so much fun to drive and can surprise more powerful cars!

Always loved these cars. Straight terrors on the road. When the US was going Honda crazy in the 90s, these cars, especially the EP82, gave them problems. Some of the fastest Starlets were in Antigua 🇦🇬.
I just got a starlet!! At first i didnt really want a starlet and i intended on buying a mr2 sw20 as my first car, but i couldnt find one in good condition for a good price. So i got my grandpa's old starlet for free. After putting on new shock absorbers on it with my dad i realized how much space there is in the engine bay and after seeing videos on youtube about the starlet i have geniunly fallen in love with it. My starlet is totally stock too so it's basically a blank canvas for me to mod. Also i know for sure that i will keep it, at first my intention was to fix the stuff that needed to be fixed and then sell it and for that money buy a mr2, but now im gonna keep the starlet and buy a mr2 later. Also my starlet means a lot to me now because it used to be my grandpa's and he has been dead for a few years now.
I had a non turbo lowered ep91 for 6 years and it was one of the best cars I’ve owned. Great fun to drive on B roads. Glued to the road. I gave it hell every day and it never failed....apart from eating driveshafts 😂

good video! This is a sick car. I've been looking into all sorts of cars that we never got here in the U.S., this being one of them of course, and I just can't get enough of these weird little cars

Great to see some coverage of a Legend. There was also a GlanzaS that used the 5EFE engine (1.5L NA) you could tell them apart due to the bonnet scoop being closed.
