    Vic, I was doing a hyperlpase in courselock mode in the UK Lake district over the weekend and had a interesting situation where the my histogram was fine when I started but about 1/3rd of the way in, the sky became really bright and over exposed in some areas. How do you handle such a situation? If you change the camera settings after the start, it produces a sharp change in the overall final video? If you cancel and start again, you miss the moment?

    • @VICVideopIC
      @VICVideopIC  3 роки тому

      These are the most difficult situations to deal with.
      With the experience, when you detect the possibility of changes in light, it is better to underexpose and then correct in post processing.
      The Air 2S has a fantastic ability to recover the shadows

    • @VICVideopIC
      @VICVideopIC  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you,
      there are 2 sets of ND filters from DJI for the Mavic Air 2S.
      One has values from ND 4 to ND 32 and is more suitable for regular video. The other one is ND 64 to ND 512, ideal for hyperlapses.
      For hyperlapses the ND 32 can be used in relatively low light, around sunset or sunrise or in cloudy days

  • @robwasnj
    @robwasnj 2 роки тому

    Hello Vic, first let me say your videos are fantastic and have helped me understand my drone much better. I'm wondering if you've found that there's a minimum distance you can set for drone movement in waypoints in relation to the length of the video. For example, if I want the drone to slide 200' but make a 10 second clip it won't allow me and only permits 2 or 3 seconds. This is unfortunate because I find myself wanting to slow down the drone movement in some instances but it's simply not possible... in addition the clip lengths are based on 24 fps not 30 fps which makes them play back even faster. I do wonder if there's a solution to this. In some instances fast motion is desirable but oftentimes I want very little drone movement. TIA.

    • @VICVideopIC
      @VICVideopIC  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks,
      I perfectly agree. In drones before the Air 2S (including the Mavic 2 Pro, the minimum speed (and therefore the minimum distance to travel) was way too long.
      The Air 2S is a big improvement, If I remember correctly I was able to do a 12 second hyperlapse with a movement of around 200 meters, which is not bad, although I would prefer an even smaller distange.
      What drone do you own? If you have a Air 2S choose 10 seconds and then set the speed at the minimum value

    • @robwasnj
      @robwasnj 2 роки тому

      @@VICVideopIC I own both the Air 2 and Air 2s, I enjoy them both but find myself using the Air2s almost exclusively. I do love having 6 batteries and 2 chargers. I've actually been experimenting a lot with night hyperlapses and have found some settings that work pretty well. I do wish I could set any distance and time in waypoints but as you said it's not bad. Here's a link to one I did last night just panning the camera. I found 1.3 seconds exposure with an ND filter to be very good for this sort of stuff. ua-cam.com/video/cmarDT6oGhc/v-deo.html
