Cool.. did not know they could be purchased for so inexpensively.. I have seen them as high as $50.00 plus for nicer self adjusting ones. Love building things and would probably build them even if they were free.. lol.. thanks for the info..

That mini clamp is very suited for scale modelling work or other projects that require small parts. Very nice.I enjoy building minute pieces myself.

    Hey Izzy, congratulations!
Simple it's much more appreciated! agree with Tayler Made.
Your design just makes so much sense, visually you can see the right mechanics at work, and the explanation you make, is like a fun teacher that inspires creativity

I like your videos on clamping. As to where toggle clamps can be gotten for fairly cheap - recently got some for 5 bucks ea. at Harbor Freight. That said, the saying is definitely true that a woodworker rarely has enough clamps, and can NEVER have too many. I will definitely be building some of your designs - even at 5 bucks ea., that could add up fast. And your bar clamp design makes bar clamps affordable (especially if made from pallet wood) - until now the longer ones have been out of reach, as pipes can be pretty pricey.

Like the bonehead! I forgot to mention that Peter at "cncnutz's" posted a link in the description box of his video with plans to make these holddown clamps.. be sure to check it out!

I have made a perfect version using my lasercutter and 3mm MDF. I laminate and clamp the parts afterwards and get a very accurate final product. Works like a dream and is very strong.

In model building, you find yourself needing the oddest clamps from time to time; that micro-clamp may be just the ticket for certain glue-ups!

The mini clamp would be great for model ship building, or any model building. A maybe even experiments on particles ;)

hft sales some for like 5 bucks a pop, Grizzly for few bucks more, online auctions a bit less. This is for Chinese stuff of course, not your nice original American made quality DE-STA-CO brand toggle clamps, but at those prices I'd go make my own too for hobby stuff, but for production runs definitely worth investing. good video enjoyed it found your channel from cncnutz link.

You do make great videos over all, thoe I was thinking about the holes cc measure on those toggle clamps, does the distance between the holes need to be any specific according to eachother or is it just to make a couple of holes then it works? I think on the first clamp in this video with the nuts and bolts

Izzy, don't listen to the "I can just go buy a cheap made in china one" yes they can, but I bet it will break after a few tries, when you make something from wood or metal with your own hands, you can also make replacement parts if you ever need them, which you can't do for the purchased ones, and as you said, you can make them any size you need them to be, homemade clamps for wood, I would put money on will outlast anything purchased, especially made in china crap. And again like you said you can make them any size you need.

Thank you for your insightful and enlightened comment. It has added more depth to this comment string then I could ever have hoped for ! Further more may I compliment you on your amazing use of English vernacular. You sir, paint a verbal picture with pure elegance. A talent perhaps slightly shadowed by your amazing ability to point out the obvious. I salute you sir. Have a wonderful new year.
