    I have the same helmet and agree with your points. May I add that when you partially raise your visor it redirects the air over and away from the top helmet inlet. You really feel this on hot days when you want both airflow on your face and through the helmet. Unfortunately, you have to pick one or the other. It’s still my daily use helmet as it fits the best and is the lightest.

    I bought the same white with wide carbon fiber stripe in a medium size last year, my head measures 57mm for size reference, and it fit great. I have an intermediate oval head and a long face (think Dick Van Dyke, if you're old enough) with small features. I do not have big ears, a big nose or a big chin. The helmet fits fantastic, and I have no issues at all with ears or chin, but the internal drop-down visor and my nose.... not a good fit, literally. When I put the visor down, it hit my nose and pushed on it. It wasn't painful at all, but talk about a major nuisance! I knew the light smoke visor wasn't going to cut it, so I had ordered the dark smoke visor also when I ordered the helmet. When the light tint visor hit my nose, I knew the remedy.... I immediately went to the shed, grabbed the dremel and a barrel sander attachment, and proceeded to go to work on the new dark smoke visor. After 4 or 5 short sanding sessions and test fits, I ended up sanding out a triangle of plastic about 3/4" wide at the base and about 1" tall. I took off quite a bit more plastic than I thought it would need when I started, and my nose barely clears the visor now, but it clears and it looks great.
    FYI for anybody interested, these are all of the VLT tint percentages directly from AGV (not, "I saw it on a forum" somewhere).
    These are all the tint shades/colors they produce, but not all colors are available on all shield and/or visor models.
    Clear = 90%
    Clear + Pinlock = 80%
    Yellow = 90%
    Rainbow = 80%
    Blue = 50%
    Light Smoke = 50%
    Dark Smoke = 20%
    Iridium Blue = 10%
    Iridium Silver = 10%
    Iridium Gold = 10%
    Be aware that the iridium tints must just be a spray on coating, as I saw another review where the individual warned that he had used a cleaner on his face shield (not just mild soap and water) and he "cleaned" off the iridium coating. It appeared that the remaining tinted shield after the iridium coating was gone looked like the dark smoke, but I don't know for sure. Here's a YT video of the K6 helmet with the various tinted face shield options. ua-cam.com/video/3t3hOiTN0LI/v-deo.html

    I knew this 12 month's old l recently bought the Tourmodular AGV it's good but I've Neotec 2 which is more comfortable. You're right about the Sena the SLR2 Bluetooth is rubbish button's hard to find with gloves in and other problems.
    Ones thing l noticed is the AGV visor with the black pin on the bottom annoys the hell out of me. I live in a hot place so l liked them Visor up. I've also had the Schuberth C5 with the Sena C1 again rubbish also the visor would come down at speed.
    For me it's my Neotec 2 be interesting to see reviews on the new Neotec 3 but in saying that AGV still fairly good helmet Shoei more refined and l got the AGV on sale. I've been riding well over 40 years so I've some insight onto helmets. Good review ride safe from Brisbane Australia 👍🏍

    I have a Neotec 2 I've had for 5 seasons. I like it however I do find it to be heavy and uncomfortable after a few hundred kms. I bought one of these to try on. Fit is a bit tight so I'm going to return it. It seems as good as a Neotec 2 just a bit different.

      There is definitely a notable difference in weight between the two helmets. I'm curious to try the new AGV TourModular to see if that finds the happy medium

    Refreshing to see a vid from a sport tourer not adv make believe dakar rider. Had a sportmodular when it came out sold it bought a schuberth and a Klim krios about to go back to sportmodular or tourmodular. To be fair with your complaint about the detents every single helmet I've owned has sucked in this regard. Worst being Klim Krios Pro but even my Schuberth E1 and C4 Pro the visor detents are trash to the point many put in o rings from lowes.

    I guess the winds behind the touring screen contribute to the visor coming down. I ride no shield and have no such problems with my SM.

    • @4KMotoring
      @4KMotoring  Рік тому

      I absolutely recognize that with no shield, the wind noise is much less. May well be part of the issue

    • @4KMotoring
      @4KMotoring  2 роки тому

      Eh, the weak detents for the visor and chin bar are definitely wrong, the other shortcomings are just a comparison to other helmets in the same class. It's not bad, but I won't be buying another one unless there are some major revisions

    Fully agree. Came from a Neotec 1 as well. Really miss the noise isolation, plush padding & finer details of the shoei. Looking at the finer details, i can see glue marks and a general lack of finish in the sport modular. Am looking to try out a full face Arai Quantic next.

      Absolutely, I've been looking at the Schuberth C5 myself. Hoping there's a third gen Neotec soon that ditches the SRL system

    Thanks for the honest review. I've been trying to find a premium helmet with a sun visor and one that doesn't force you into buying a Sena Comm. Seems like Shoei and Schuberth have gone down that path. Do you have any other recommendations?

    • @4KMotoring
      @4KMotoring  2 роки тому +1

      That's a great question. Honestly I've tried on a bunch of modulars, and I think I've decided to just go with a second gen NeoTec and just mount my Cardo to it externally

      Hi Michael, I have also the helmet in M and also after some time it feels tight. Can you share where you bought thinner cheek pads? I contacted AGV support and they told me there are no thinner pads. Did you buy pads for smaller shell? Thank you

      @@peterbahnik882 The thinner cheekpads are those of the L size helmet wich shares the outer shell with the M size helmet. Therefore they could or should fit. Good luck.

    I've had this helmet for more than a year and I like everything about it except that I would like a little more space for my chin and lips. I never want to go back to SENA and I really like my Cardo.

    • @4KMotoring
      @4KMotoring  Рік тому

      Cardo is definitely leading the way for motorcycle comm systems.
      ASV has their new TourModular that I would love to try, I think it may blend the best of what I love about the SportModular and Neotec II

      I saw another reviewer comment on his chin touching the inside of the chin bar also. His "home remedy" was to basically push really hard on the inside of the chin bar and crush the EPS where his chin made contact in order to gain a little more clearance. Maybe not a wise idea to mess with the integrity of the EPS, but at least it wasn't the main 3/4 portion of the helmet. Personally, I would've found another helmet that fit better.

    Hi i know is a year since the review ,i bought this helmet a few day a go ,there is something i have never see on a helmet amd i would like to ask you if you still have it ......between the outer shell at front and the inner polystyrene where is the sun visor there is 2.5cm gap ......i dont know if that a fault on my helmet or is normal for this helmet .....i dont think i like that ,hope you still have the helmet and you can check for me if yours is the same before i send it back.Thanks
    And also.i forgot to say label inside says made in china ....

    • @4KMotoring
      @4KMotoring  7 місяців тому +1

      Unfortunately this is not uncommon in the market with helmets that include the drop down sun visor. Shoei makes a point of advertising that they have the same amount of EPS liner thickness throughout the helmet even with the sun visor, which is why they have that little bulge at the top of the shell. Most other companies, agv included, just removed some of the EPS liner to fit the sun visor towards the front of the helmet. Mine is the same as yours.

      There were obviously some things I didn't like about the helmet, but I don't think it's a bad lid. I'm still amazed how light it is for a modular helmet and narrow as well.
      Obviously I can't tell you what to do with it, but given your discount there is probably a secondhand market that could get you most of your money back. The Shoei Neotech 3 would be my absolute recommendation right now in the modular category after seeing one this weekend.

    Hi!Is it much louder than neotec?Is it suitable for long oval head shape?thanks

    • @4KMotoring
      @4KMotoring  2 роки тому +2

      In open air (without a windshield), I didn't notice it to be much louder. With a windshield, it is unbelievably loud by comparison, ear plugs definitely recommended. I don't think you would have a problem with a long oval, but it is definitely made for the intermediate oval head shape. The neotech has more variation when it comes to interior pad sizes
