How do you just "lose" the shield though? When it comes to "breaking" you would be lazy to not take a trip to death mountain for repairs once it starts to tell you it is damaged. Just lay it down in front of a Rock Octorok then the Octorok will repair it + add a random bonus to the Hylian Shield then toss it back to you. In Totk the Hylian Shield is not considered the "Legendary" shield so the Octorok will repair it with out issues, but the "Daybreaker" is this time. By the way are the Daybreaker and Scimitar of the Seven included in Cece shop when THEY break instead of spending dimonds to repair them?
It is possible yes, you can also buy 1 hylian cap, have her take it of for you, and then buy one other. Now you have one cap that's down and one cap that's off in your inventory
If you don't want to spend the rupees, once the Hylian shield is red. Just find an Octorok and have it repair for you, you will also get random enchantment once it repairs your weapons and shields. I do this so I don't lose my favorite weapon or shield, be sure to kill it once you get your stuff back it will respawn again once there's a bloodmoon. You can keep doing it over and over again so you'll never destroy your favorite weapon or shield again.
The thing that annoys me is the fact there is just a hat- This matches with nothing, why couldn't they given us a whole outfit to buy? I would have loved a dress at least-

My Hylian shield broke during the fight with Gannon and I thought I would need this place…. But then…. (Spoiler alert) ……….. ……….. ………. Turns out beating Gannon was just some kind of sick dream When you load the game after beating Gannon it just puts you where you were before you beat Gannon and puts a little star sticker on next to your save file like good job champ you did it even though wait no you really didn’t it was all just a dream or something 😑
Spoiler . . . . . . . . . . . . . Yeah, Ganondorf hits very hard to break the Hylian Shield just like that, mine got broken as well, but fortunately we had it back after the ending. Many games reloads to the moment prior of the ending, I was sure TotK would do this and set a custom teleport into the room before the final boss to replay it when I feel like to. In this case the reload makes sense, killing Ganondorf would mean no more gloom, most likely no more monster armies except for the creatures that would already be around Hyrule, and probably no more red moons. Also no more Light Dragon and farmable pieces from it. Would be nice to have a DLC for what's after and having Zelda more actively involved in it as we got companions in the game, but what we got is still pretty satisfying and very well narrated.

I don't love it, but it forces you to get creative with combat. Forces you to try different weapons, instead of using only your favs. They give you SO many in both games. I've been having fun fusing monster parts to my swords n such to make some powerful weapons 😊

@@amyhartman6786You can repair the legendary weapons with oktoroks by just fusing them to a normal weapon then unfusing them in tarrey town
If you 'dye' the armor it technically becomes a different armor than what you have originally, hence she sells you the original one again.
So... theoretically, I could have an Of the Wild set for every color I want?
