Island Sanctuary deserves a Bestiary book which records the rare and common creatures as we catch them and shows there location as we highlight them via Bestiary book 😍

If you upgrade your pasture, you actually get 20 slots instead of 15, they give you 10 extra slots for the last upgrade (same thing for your croplands as well, you get 10 slots with the last upgrade). I found this out the other day. Thought I'd let people know if they didn't, so you don't have to worry about filling up your pasture and not having enough space for all of the creatures. You do, with I think 2 slots to spare to pick and choose if you want another creature be it rare or not.

I've specifically tested the "catch from behind" mechanic and noticed worse odds than just running up and throwing nets wildly, so based on the contradiction of my experience and other's who say it helps, I'm almost certain that it's just completely random chance.
Pretty sure it is. The first rare I caught was the Black Chocobo, and I just ran up into its face, shouted, "Get in my net, bitch!" and got it on the first try.
In my experience, it doesn't seem to matter. Even if i sneak up perfectly they will sometimes do a 180 and flee after one attempt.

If your pen is full you can still hunt creatures so you don't need to save space in advance, such as for rares you are still trying to get. When you successfully capture something and your pen is already full it will tell you that you need to release something if you want to keep the new capture. It will then give you the list of creatures in your pen to do so. I had thought I needed to release something prior going after a rare but that is wrong, you can release after successful capture instead.

wow so i JUST caught up to like island sanctuary 9ish, wasnt interested at all when it came out and looking things up i got to see some of my favorite creators like quazii pop up which made me smile a bunch, great thumbnail really brightened my day seeing you grin at me in a farmer outfit haha

Good Video Quazii, however you said at max rank you get 15 creatures but its actually 20! same goes with the garden you will have 20 garden beds to plant crops. both of these will be unlocked at Island Sanctuary level 7.

HUGE ADVICE! READ THE IN-GAME HELP GUIDE AND DON'T SKIM! It may not always give you exact data points, but I found myself feeling really dumb at having skimmed over some the explanations and missing things. I made this mistake a few times, but most notably when I was experimenting with feed and realized that it literally says how much each type increases an animal's mood, which helped me optimize my feeding patterns greatly! Basically, don't waste Premium feed if you're not going to hit max mood :')

the capture rate is 100% rng. There is nothing that increases the chance. Also the max capacity for pasture is 20 and u can get it at lvl 8, same with the crop fields, you get 10 extra slots right away with the last upgrade.
Does anyone know if anything happens if the animals are left completely unattended besides the mood going down? For example do we have to worry about an animal running away if we get busy and forget to check in. Once I get everything I don't know how much I will keep checking in but I don't want to come back to find all the rare spawns ran away.
When u try to catch from front and u fail u get message that animal has spotted u and instantly run away. But if u do it from behind u get message that your net did miss but creature is unaware of your presence so it dont run away. Ofcourse after couple tries it will run away,and there is a chance that it will spot u at first try from behind. Remember that normal mob in world dont have 360 field of view so it makes sense

Only bit that was off, was when you get to level 3 of the farm, you get 20 animals.
So would it be more economical to bump up their moods JUST before the leavings drop (i.e. just before daily reset) instead of keeping them constantly happy?
With the cost of the best food, feeding them more than once per day with it, you are going to burn through so many vegetables. By feeding them the cheapest fruit based food early then switching to the expensive one at the end of the day to get them to max happiness for the reset is going to be most economical. Especially since most vegetables have a real world growth rate of two or more days and you need two of two different vegetables for a total of 4 to make the food.
You get 20 total creature at max lvl.
i caught a chocobo yesterday, shows up in my pasture list, but its no where to be found in the actual pasture. Can anyone tell me if its a bug or im doing something wrong? Wasnt maxd out on pasture slots either.
My guess would be leave the Island and go back to reload everything. Sounds like a bug
So once my animals are happy, should I keep feeding premium stuff to them or what?
Wait I thought they didn't add flying and people are lvl 10 without it, is it that they have to upgrade their garden/pasture And facilities to lvl 3 as well as the cabin to unlock the Mk5 pathological pathfinder?
That must be it because some have unveiled the entire map and even caught a creature only available with flying. It didn't occur to me that it's not just level based tho. DX
You unlock flying at Rank 9 when you unlock the last building spot

Once your animals have better than content mood, you don't need to spam high quality food. Apples are enough . They remain in the better moods for a day and drop one after
