    I own a 2019 NC750X and love it to bits. The bike is fun for me, so not sure why people moan about it not being fun. Says more about your own issues if you can't have fun on this bike....

      I own a 2017x manual and it is very fun to be alone , but in group even 300cc ninja , will let you now you are too slow and Heavy. and in adventure groups any vstrom 650 will remain you the Nc 750x it is not an adventure bike. in my personal opinion , the Nc750x can do parts of all the segments, but it is not good in any of those... other Xtreme bad issue , you pay 10k for it, them you will sell it by 5500 US $ in just 6 months.. good quality but very bad buy.

      I have a xsr700 it's a very fun bike wheelies all day. I want the NC cause I hate commuting on my "fun bike". I wants solid commuter and great MPG. I just wish the NC had cruise control.

      @@johnroe3915 You will probably find that you have more fun on the NC750X than you realize. It isn't just the boring commuter bike that the idiots keep labeling it as.
      Cruise control would be a nice addition. Not sure why it wasn't added to the new model.

    They are what I'd call a complete package in which all the component parts are very well matched. By way of explanation, I mean the brakes aren't sports bike brakes but are perfectly adequate for what it is. Likewise the suspension and the power/power delivery. No need for more electrickery, what it has is adequate. I really don't need a colour TFT dash and programmable rider modes. I just want to get on and ride the damned thing and this bike is incredibly easy to ride.
    Put together it makes for an almost perfect balance of practicality and usability. I suppose to some, that might be boring but I've owned all sorts of bikes and this, in reality is the best bike I've ever owned.
    Also, don't be put off by those apparently dismal BHP figures. It produces plenty of power right where it's most useful so no need to drop two or three gears to overtake, just open the throttle and she will pull like a train. Not only that but it will sit quite happily at 100mph (Uk owner) all day. Only thing is though, at high speeds, the screen isn't really up to the job.
    On paper, it's quite heavy but, and it's a big one, it carries its weight low down unlike "proper" adventure bikes which I find top heavy. Indeed it's surprisingly agile whilst retaining good stability.
    Then of course there's that almost legendary economy. It beggars belief and a complete mystery to me how they do it. 750cc engine with 250cc economy. Amazing.
    I can only think of two gripes with the X. The first I've already mentioned is the screen. Bigger, wider and adjustable would be nice. The second, weirdly perhaps, is the positioning of the foot pegs which I found were right in the way when stopped and feet straight down. (I actually own the S version and it's not a problem).
    Final word. I've never really liked Honda's, probably my last choice as a manufacturer if I'm honest. I bought my NC 750 S as a winter hack because it was cheap. But, within a couple of weeks of riding, The Triumph Street Twin is languishing in the garage and I've since sold The MV Agusta.

    The NC is a wonderful bike. I bought mine new in 2014 and it now has 85000km on the clock. With a few extras it has become a superb touring bike that I took all over the country, Lesotho, Swaziland and even Zambia. It still rides like a new bike. I wanted to upgrade to a bigger bike a few times, but could never justify the cost for the little I would have gained.

    My 2016 DCT is serving me so well I have not found anything I would replace it with. In 35000 miles oil changes...tires,,,chain and sprockets...and it still gives me a solid 60mpg. Honda knocked it out of the park with this design.

    • @BassOutcast

      35,000 miles? That's nothing. I'm at a trouble free 71K miles myself on my 2012 700X. There are people like Mike from Thailand with about 150K miles and it still runs like new. Heck, there's a guy in Brazil who works as a courier on his - 270K miles and it still runs as a daily workhorse. These are bulletproof machines.

      One thing I'm confused about is low speed. I can creep along super slowly with lots of clutch and not touching the back brake... How do you ride so slowly with DCT?

    • @PovilasPanavas
      @PovilasPanavas 10 місяців тому

      @@amycollins6007 sad no one answered. I heard that you can use rare-break to engage a clutch a bit. I did 30 days travel in Europe and U-turns are hard without clutch. Using rare break seems to indeed engage a clutch a bit, but I don't have training for that unlike clutch, so U-turns, or turning sideways to cross cars while filtering was a problem for me. I just couldn't figure out how to do it without a clutch properly. Anyway, managed to complete my trip, and still would choose DCT. It's just so relaxing to ride.
      I always downshift before overtaking. The only annoying thing is that sometimes it upshifts just before I open throttle after I already downshifted which messes up my overtaking, because with this bike you must downshift one or preferably two gears in order to overtake (people who say just open throttle are liars or keep bike in a very aggressive mode. I keep it in Sport1 or Sport2 (Sport3 is too aggressive and keeps revs to high, this is not for normal travel, but for pushing/racing). And yes, if you fully open the throttle it downshift one gear for you often, but you not always sure if it will do, so manual downshift is a must).

    Just rented this beautiful NC for a day and I am absolutely sold. Whoever said that this is a boring bike has probably never ridden one.
    I was a little worried it wouldn’t have enough power, but put in in sport mode and it’ll blast fast enough.

    Bought one in 2013, after watching the bike show review, perfect learner/begynner Bike, practical, easy ride, you can have a lot of fun at low speed, corners well, can follow liter bikes in the corners, useless on the straight. You will be surprised how often you use the storage compartment. Other than i installed alarm and stuff , they drained the battery, it went like clockworks. Have been in couple of situations that i was glad i only had 48HP to learn riding with. Now I ride H2sx, that's another story :)

    Just acquired my DCT and it has blown me away in every possible situation so far . I am nearly 70 and so I sold my 2015 BMW 1200GS for this and have taken time to really get to know this bike at ultra slow speeds for maximum learning muscle memory and getting upgrades for off road touring which is what I’ve enjoyed for years …the auto box is fantastic ! I really understand why electric bikes like the Zero …my next bike…improve off road skills 30% watching reviews….I have been riding soft sandy little off-road sections standing and sitting and the bike is just so easy at especially really slow speeds ….nothing seems not doable …upgrades : seat gel pad ….a must …protect my privates 😂(or shad comfy seat but expensive some day possibly ) …bar risers yes …higher screen… bark busters ….bash plate….covers the entire engine ….crash bars …. Foot pegs ….and at some point will add soft panniers and a hard top box ….(not too sure yet which I want) all in I think it’s possibly the best bike I’ve owned in life time of bikes ….for many reasons
    My last petrol bike but this will now only be a must in some years to come while the entire market shifts over ….

    I bought a brand new NC750X in 2018 but the DCT started playing up after 1 year/8,000 miles. I wasn't going to mention it but you're last comment about Honda being bullet proof simply isn't true. I fully accept anything mechanical can and will wear out, no matter who makes it, what disappointed me was how long it took Honda to fix it. They even part stripped the gearbox, which didn't help. It was only the hunch of the mechanic who realised it was the gearbox shifter motor. Once that was replaced it worked fine until I sold it. However, it's put me off DCT/Honda, which is a shame as it was a really, really good bike. Incidentally I've only ever owned one Honda car, a 2006 Civic and that had a number of problems too. I'm obviously not destined to own Honda's ;-) This does demonstrate the 'value' of PCP/Finance, as you never own the bike so should it go wrong you hand it back.

    • @PovilasPanavas
      @PovilasPanavas 10 місяців тому

      I think the issue is that it depends a lot on how much you fill and how. You can add more fuel and level will be still the same, as air or something goes out. Like you know it, you fill fully, and level of petrol goes down. You can add more and more. It takes time for fuel to actually start going over.
      What I'm saying, that 57 km per litter is a measurement mistake. No way you can actually achieve that. He's saying, that he needs less than 2 litters per 100km which is simply not true no matter how economical one rides. 3 litters though is possible. I had 3.5 average while fully loaded on 30 day trip in Europe (6000km). Thus 3 litters not loaded (less weight, less wind resistance) should be possible.

If you are going away camping on it, you would have to ensure that you didn't strap anything down on the pillion seat which prevented an easy refill. But l can't see that happening, unless you take a pillion. BMW got this right by have the filler cap at the side.

(especially when you consider a LOT of riders will add accessories, luggage, and luggage CONTENTS or camping gear). So, a little lacking -- at least for ME. So close, yet so far. The 500X is noticably lighter, around 20kgs less or so. It also is narrower, feels smaller too. It's made in Thailand, and you really notice that when compared to the Japanese built NC. You can see it in the long term quality - my NC700X had a rough life before I bought it, and it still looks wonderful at 115K KM. A 2014 CB500X won't look as good with a fraction of the kms, and will rust quicker.

Shocks - shorter travel, and it feels almost same ( sliiiightly better ) on bumps, cracks, holes.... No, this is not an "allarrounder", anymore. Sitting is lower - I dodn't like. Seat - abit more comfy, but less enjoyable to ride as tptal experience. Slightly less conf. inspiring at near-top speeds. Windscreen - just a decoration ( useless ). No Cruise Control is a big ( - ) ! - It's a ride by wire now, so why no CC ? - cheaper ? 👎
    I thought to give it a chance, and maybe to discover that I was wrong, but after trying this 2021 bike, I was happy to go back to my 19/20 mod 🤷‍♀️
    Some do like it more. I was not impressed.
    I would buy it ( "upgrade" to 2021 ) if it had, alt least, same shocks' travel ( with improved motion ), a CC and not so flimzy feel - especially of the storage cover 🤮 - reduced quality 🤢

    I'm not sure why DCT bikes don't still retain the left foot gear lever and just make it electronic. It's a much nicer way to change gear than the + and - buttons.

      because on paper it sounds good, in reality probably no one orders despite this being an option. Left hand has nothing to do anyway besides using turn signals, thus clearly can press a button to shift. Plus those buttons placed nicely, you can reach them without thinking.
