@AuntieS412 Yeah, we've been working on closing that loophole. People from the US have been using the excuse that they're driving to their property in Alaska, but end up vacationing on Vancouver Island. Mind you, we are seeing the numbers climb back up from normal interaction as things open back up, and as such, many stores are now "mandating" across their chains (loosely enforced, if at all), that masks are required or recommended, depending on the particular store.
Sadly planes are still flying and Americans/Canadians have been getting in and out that way.
Our Florida snowbirds finally coming back have gotten in shit for bringing covid back.

Meanwhile in Victoria, Australia the use of face masks and stay at home methods reduced a significant outbreak of over 900 cases of corona virus in a day to under 30 in about 8 weeks. And that was in winter, in one of our most populated states. The method works. The data is there.
Down to just 11 cases in Victoria now. Masks and stay-at-home orders work. trump's non-action has killed hundreds of thousands. How about that? An American president is P.E.R.S.O.N.A.L.L.Y responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths of his own citizens!!!

The southern states are stubborn however, and continue to build normal structures on lowland. Build on high ground, out of concrete, problem solved. It couldn't be because the population of blue states is larger than red states and they are also wealthier so there's more testing. How close people live is also a factor and the population density affects the rate of spread. 5 of the most populous US cities are in blue states and most red states have significantly smaller populations and are more rural which is analogue social distancing. This is a classic example of how statistics can be used to distort the facts and lead to unjustifiable conclusions.

Over 70% of America’s prisoners are incarcerated for drug-offenses. All of this should speak volumes about where our government’s real loyalties lie regarding “crime and punishment.”

You are unaware of what happened if you think moving Covid patients to less crowded nursing homes caused more deaths. It was not a good idea, but it didn't do much damage. I know, I was there. I still am, and the infection rate here is very well controlled. Almost everyone wears masks. New York averted an even worse catastrophe than what we went through. It could have been a million of us. We shut down and wore masks. That's how to beat this.

About that... Trump removed his own country from the UN Human Right's council a while ago. The US no longer attends UN meetings, and you guys can than your president for that one. That means the UN can do absolutely nothing, because he isn't allowing them any jurisdiction within the US. That also means the UN can't send help unless it's a state of emergency. Also, several US citizens have asked for that for many decades now.

Fun (not so fun) fact: when the International Criminal Court (ICC) was formed to prosecute genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity back in 2002, modelled on the Nuremberg trials, the US refused to join it along with such paragons of justice and democracy as Russia and China (technically Russia and the US signed the treaty but did not ratify it). Not only this, the US, spearheaded by people like John Bolton, tried to strong-arm various countries dependent on them to also not join the ICC, for example by threatening to withhold food and military aid. Then, deciding that would not be enough to show the world its commitment to biggest-army diplomacy over international justice, it signed the "American Service-Members' Protection Act", more commonly known as the Hague Invasion Act. It contains pretty much what you'd expect from that name: if ever an American were brought to the ICC for, for example, committing genocide in an ICC signatory country, the US considers itself free to use any means necessary, including military measures, to get that war criminal back and prevent them from being prosecuted. Soooo I don't think you should hope too much for UN intervention and Nuremberg-style trials. The US has never had respect for such things, since way before Trump became a political factor, and sending your (hopefully) by that time disgraced former president to such a trial would probably just end up getting that country bombed out of existence or something.
