Thanks for that. Yeah, there really weren’t any videos available showing what the Donadea 50k was all about so I am delighted to put that out into the universe 😃 Thanks for watching 👍
Thanks Graham, I hope you’re keeping well. Yeah sometimes things just seem to come together nicely on the day and that was the case at Donadea. Don’t think I’ll be beating that time for 50k any time soon but certainly glad to have been able to put that marker down. I hope you’re own endeavors are going well 👍
Thanks Johnny, I wish they were all that straightforward. I see much suffering in my future with some of the other races I have planned 😂 Thanks again for watching.
Thanks Alan, it was great to run the first 30k with Brian, his good humor made the “miles” disappear. I’m delighted to have that 50k result under my belt. Thanks for watching 👍
What an amazing achievement Dave. :-) You are certainly leaving your mark on the Irish Ultra Running scene before you head off to warmer climes. As always with the best they make it look so easy which you did. Great video and it brought back some nice memories. See you soon.
Thanks Ray, yeah thankfully everything came together on the day. I’m looking forward to getting out on the hills with you next week and then it will be all roads to the Maurice Mullins….oh yeah, and California 😂😂
The only people who seemed to be having more fun than you were the guys with the balloons. Glad they made the cutoff. Thanks for showing the last few finishers. May your flight to California be without incident.
Thanks for that, yeah running with Brian made the first 30k whizz by. It was fortuitous that we paired up when we did. That final finisher footage is classic and you gotta love the trophy she received 😊
Done in true Dave Barry style - with a quip and a smile on his face. Well Done Dave, you make it look so easy!🤗🤗. Have you left these Irish waters yet?
Thanks Sandra, yeah that run went pretty well alright. Some days are easier than others 😀. Just 3 weeks to departure. We’ll squeeze the Maurice Mullins in just in time. Thanks, as always, for the support 👍
Thanks Ken, if I understood why some days work out so well I would bottle and sell it 😃. I’m really delighted with that result and for putting out a video for others to see what the Donadea 50 is all about. Thanks for watching 👍
@@filmmytrailrun Dave , I'm guessing its down to hard work , Consistency and staying injury free . As a male vet myself its great to see you doing well . Keep up the great work .
Thanks Mark and thanks also for coming over and saying hello. I couldn’t be happier with that result. I hope your own training is going well and you’re building nicely to the MM 💪🏃🏼♂️
That’s the interesting thing about the sport, you are never 100% sure about how you’re going to perform. Thankfully it all worked out very well on this occasion. I think the gel and water every 5k kept my energy levels in the right zone. Thanks for watching 👍
What a great day at the office Dave, bloody awesome performance, someone who can run as far as you do should not be allowed to run that fast!! Superb performance and top 10 in a National event is something to be rightfully proud off!!
Cheers Jon, I could not have hoped it would go so well. I think running with Brian set me up for success. I was able, thankfully, to keep that pace going to the finish line. The gel/water every 5k were instrumental also. So far so good in 2023. Only one more race left this side of the pond before I hit L.A. Thanks again my friend 👍
Thanks Pah, with Kinvara over the weekend there that makes two good races under my belt this year. Savage running yourself on Saturday and best of luck in Connemara…and with your upcoming arrival 🍼🐣
Well done, on your pace and the consistent place. Looks like it is quicker to do it in miles! That five hours is a tough time to get under, not sure I'd make it. Love the last place trophy, can't beat a bit of Irish humour.
Thanks Tadeusz, yeah that final-finisher-trophy is hilarious. I felt sorry for the very next guy who crossed the line only to be told he didn’t finish.
Thanks David, no, I have never done a back yard ultra and with the way my calendar is set up I will not squeeze one in this year either. 🤔 Or may be at the very end of the year 😉. I’ll get around to one eventually. There are so many races I want to do. Thanks for watching 👍
Great job , thanks for the vid
Thanks for that. Yeah, there really weren’t any videos available showing what the Donadea 50k was all about so I am delighted to put that out into the universe 😃 Thanks for watching 👍
Great video Dave. Thanks so much :)
Thanks Martin, delighted to be able to put something together that showcases this great event 👍
Top running that David.....super fast. Nice to see Laura on the video too. You are looking good.

Fantastic! What a run and very inspiring 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🏆
Thank you, I wish they could all be like that but then I guess I wouldn’t appreciate the good days as much 😀. Thanks for watching 👍
Great effort. Well done.

Great to see Brian out there with you as well. Tough as leather the both of ye. Hup!
Yeah, it was such good fun to run with Brian. The stories and craic made the first 30k fly by. It was a great day out at Donadea 👍

That’s an awesome run!! Top 10 and looked as fresh as Daisy at the end.

David, have you ever done a backyard ultra? If not, have you any plans for one? Cheers. Nice video by the way.
