1:03 How can you win while singing very poor? Boost your presentation score! ;-) The audience absolutely lost it at that joke. I love the self-depreciating humor-they are making fun of the very "smoke and mirrors" that they utilize to create an amazing set! 'Shoptimus Prime deserved their standing ovations on both of these contest songs--to bad they don't compete anymore!
These guys aren't Canadian. They didn't apologize and they dissed a bunch of quartets... maybe they were joking, but it certainly didn't come off like that.
If you research the quartet--They ARE Canadians. shoptimusprimequartet.com/about/ They are referencing the fact that unfortunately very few non-American quartets ever win the Barbershop Harmony first place award (Musical Island Boys was only the 2nd non-American quartet to win Gold). So they're basically saying the odds are against them because they are Canadians. And yes! They were joking! 😄 The audience got that, which is why they received a standing ovation on both of their contest songs.
@@lifeontheledgerlines8394 these guys still got standing ovations tho lad, everyone was calm with it (especially Tony from Main Street, you can 100% hear him laughing in the background)

I think I hear Tony from Main Street laughing over the crowd.
Probably. I think I heard a Myron Siren in there somewhere too...

His Voice Definitely Stands Out..
Absolutely savage.
What does that mean?
In this context, their dissing of the entire barbershop scene is nothing short of savage.
Arranger: Brent Graham and Tom Gentry
Better diss track than anything Ricegum can shovel up.
Can we talk about how much of a masterpiece this is
my man on the bass is just a comedy master, no cap

I don't get the "Main Street's Shtick" joke. Can someone please explain that to me?
It’s saying main streets shtick ( what they do onstage) is tired( overused/ overdone )
Example of Savage barbershop. Hahahaha
cool. loved it
4:39 Tear your costumes off now - wow! *TRANSFORMERS*
I think my favorite part of this is when Joel LaScala got punched. :)

They’ve got hockey jerseys on, and yes, even though they’re dissing other quartets, it’s all in good fun and we Canadians are allowed to diss people.
well that sounded kinda mean-spirited
Yeah, but in the end, Main Street won using this song, so joke's on these dudes.
