      I love the content that DC puts on but it's truly just not applicable for everyone.
      It's not even applicable to 10% of thier audience
      Marathon or not 90%+ of their audience will never afford even a third of the stuff they're pushin

      I think I have the same case as that guy. Pelican 1660 is what I got, only because I "acquired" it when a mil unit was deactivating. The planos have another advantage besides cost... weight. The big pelican weighs like almost 40 pounds before you even load it up with heavy gear. You can throw your damn back out just trying to load it up in the car by yourself... the plano case in this video is also a great size, and since you can find em cheap can build multiple kits... go to war kit, food and basics for the family kit etc

    This is a good idea. There is something called the "single purpose container" doctrine, where if police see a gun case, they can assume there is a gun in it for legal purposes. If you use a general purpose container, they are not allowed to treat it that way. Helpful in fascist democrat states when you want to keep your 4th amendment rights.

      @armysgtrandom3555 we have one with copies of all our important papers, photos, with a snake fire box for all those to be in.
      Assuming exfil by vehicle is possible, seats folded down in rear of SUV I get 2 44 gallon totes and 2 33 gallon totes, 2 jersey cans, 3 40 count bottle water stacked, 1 tote is self defense items, 1 is family keeps sakes, spare clothing, mil surplus wool blankets, 1 food, patriot food supply type stuff, pots pans, the other has tools, axe, saw, miscellaneous hand tools.
      The second row seats kid is in one, surrounded by all our scoot out bags.
      Luckily my kid is a teen, and they got to experience making a long walk in kit with pack when we got hit with all this snow.
      I expressed when done, this is why we truly don't want to have to bug out.

    Some questions/critique if you don't mind. 1. Your rifle mag is backwards on your belt. 2. Why 2 Pistol mags and only 1 rifle when your rifle is primary and exponentially more capable. I think 2 rifle 1 Pistol would be better. 3. Why a box instead of a pack? Just seems counter productive should you really need to move with haste.

    • @armysgtrandom3555
      @armysgtrandom3555  15 днів тому +2

      @@alphapoor634 don’t mind at all. I’ll respond in the order you asked.
      1: my mag isn’t backwards, I’m a left handed rifle shooter so when i draw from the belt to swap mag, that’s the position that works best for me.
      2: 2 pistol mags on the belt and 1 rifle mag is because I also have my chest rig that already has 3 rifle mags in. The extra mags on the belt are more or less last resort and if If Iv already ran though the 90 rounds on my chest and the 30 in the gun then I’m in a bad position and i like to keep my belt light as i wanted its main purpose is to carry my side arm.
      3: The box is more of an Add on to my main pack. I always have my “get home” bag but the box is really just to get me to my next location in the event I need to leave my primary location. Like many people out there I have a lot of gear/ and firearms and in the event i have to leave I don’t want to have to scramble trying to gather up what I think I will need (since i can’t take it all )so I pre planned and got what I think I will need in such an event… I will add that the most likely reason I would have to leave my main residents would be due to a natural disaster. Other than that I’m staying put with all my supplies

    • @armysgtrandom3555
      @armysgtrandom3555  16 днів тому

      The optic is solid like rock solid. I was working on a budget for this build and it’s something that I just stash away in the closet and leave it for JIC. Didn’t really want to leave my $600 Eotech just sitting in a box.

    • @waffle_chuter
      @waffle_chuter 16 днів тому

      @ the more budget or low end sig optics aren’t that good. You’d be better off with something like a holosun or even the vortex sparc solar. Just upgrade the factory mounts. The sparc solar is an excellent more “budget” red dot at like 250 on primary arms with military discount. I get not wanting to leave an eotech in there, I wouldn’t put my eotech and leave it either haha.

    What size box did you go with?

  • @JRsVsO
    @JRsVsO 14 днів тому

    With the amount of expense you have in that box, you might want to pay a few bucks more for a good harbor freight case. I get having a $20 bix that's lockable, but it's a bit thin. Us army guys do think a like, though, where socks are the most important thing in any go box.

    Got any recommendations of a duty level holster for a G45 with an optic? I can't find any on safariland that are optics compatible for my Glock 45 with a red dot

    • @Watchingyoutubeaccount
      @Watchingyoutubeaccount 16 днів тому +1

      Shouldn’t that work with a g19 holster? It’s just the grip that’s bigger so should work with any standard safariland holster for a 19

    • @dovahsween3378
      @dovahsween3378 16 днів тому

      @ I’ve been wondering that, but I was wondering if the front side serrations changed the fit. That and the optics cut.

    • @Watchingyoutubeaccount

      @@dovahsween3378 I don’t think so. Holsters don’t usually engage with those features. I have a safariland holster for a 19 with a tlr1/x300 and I can use either a 19 or 45 grip module no issue. Can also holster multiple uppers as long as they are the 19 length even without a light on it.

      I do know safariland does make one that’s optic ready. And i have a Glock MOS’s but i normally only run those in range type holsters from tulster. I do believe alien gear makes one but im not sold on their whole modular system set up. To much room for failure for something im trusting my life with.
