I think I have the same case as that guy. Pelican 1660 is what I got, only because I "acquired" it when a mil unit was deactivating. The planos have another advantage besides cost... weight. The big pelican weighs like almost 40 pounds before you even load it up with heavy gear. You can throw your damn back out just trying to load it up in the car by yourself... the plano case in this video is also a great size, and since you can find em cheap can build multiple kits... go to war kit, food and basics for the family kit etc
As a retired Combat Medic… Seems counterproductive to put your chest seals. Right where you will probably need to slap it dude. Doesn’t work good with a hole already in it😂😂😂

Yeah i have been meaning to get some, Iv been here pretty much my whole life so i know pretty much every back road and pathway for about a 20 mile or so radius but maps are always invaluable.
Get a husky box from the depot. My skinny friend tried to sit on my Plano and went right through it. The small husky box you can stand on, has wheels and a carry handle that tucks away and has an o ring to keep out water and dust.
Yeah I’ll end up upgrading the box soon. Right now being on a budget this fit the bill for what i need. I am working on a larger husky box for a “family” grab and go box. If your interested the video should be up by next Friday 🙂

This is a good idea. There is something called the "single purpose container" doctrine, where if police see a gun case, they can assume there is a gun in it for legal purposes. If you use a general purpose container, they are not allowed to treat it that way. Helpful in fascist democrat states when you want to keep your 4th amendment rights.

A few things I have that you didn't mention. A "LifeStraw" to filter drinking water and I'd toss a few silica packs to help with condensation. Mildew clothes smell like shit. I put a few smaller ones in my bags too. Good video though.
Just a suggestion, maybe a folder with important documents….or at least copies etc. also a charging system for phone since it’s a vital part of communication etc

@armysgtrandom3555 we have one with copies of all our important papers, photos, with a snake fire box for all those to be in. Assuming exfil by vehicle is possible, seats folded down in rear of SUV I get 2 44 gallon totes and 2 33 gallon totes, 2 jersey cans, 3 40 count bottle water stacked, 1 tote is self defense items, 1 is family keeps sakes, spare clothing, mil surplus wool blankets, 1 food, patriot food supply type stuff, pots pans, the other has tools, axe, saw, miscellaneous hand tools. The second row seats kid is in one, surrounded by all our scoot out bags. Luckily my kid is a teen, and they got to experience making a long walk in kit with pack when we got hit with all this snow. I expressed when done, this is why we truly don't want to have to bug out.
Good setup. I have few of these setups for different scenarios. Maybe you said it but I like to keep a setup of batteries for lights, lasers, optics whatever stuff is on the gun for people. I also like to have a small kit to maintain the gun with some lubrication. I also keep some electronic hearing protection and eye pro.
I do keep eye pro and ear pro in my kit(to many trips to the 50 range without ear pro to make that mistake again)! I do keep a set of extra batteries in my bag as well for my light/ optic.
Some questions/critique if you don't mind. 1. Your rifle mag is backwards on your belt. 2. Why 2 Pistol mags and only 1 rifle when your rifle is primary and exponentially more capable. I think 2 rifle 1 Pistol would be better. 3. Why a box instead of a pack? Just seems counter productive should you really need to move with haste.

I’ll respond in the order you asked. 1: my mag isn’t backwards, I’m a left handed rifle shooter so when i draw from the belt to swap mag, that’s the position that works best for me. 2: 2 pistol mags on the belt and 1 rifle mag is because I also have my chest rig that already has 3 rifle mags in. The extra mags on the belt are more or less last resort and if If Iv already ran though the 90 rounds on my chest and the 30 in the gun then I’m in a bad position and i like to keep my belt light as i wanted its main purpose is to carry my side arm. 3: The box is more of an Add on to my main pack. I always have my “get home” bag but the box is really just to get me to my next location in the event I need to leave my primary location. Like many people out there I have a lot of gear/ and firearms and in the event i have to leave I don’t want to have to scramble trying to gather up what I think I will need (since i can’t take it all )so I pre planned and got what I think I will need in such an event… I will add that the most likely reason I would have to leave my main residents would be due to a natural disaster. Other than that I’m staying put with all my supplies
I like this idea, definitely think I need to set one of these up for myself. But being that you have a weapon you want to count on in that box, I would definitely run a better optic on that AR.
The optic is solid like rock solid. I was working on a budget for this build and it’s something that I just stash away in the closet and leave it for JIC. Didn’t really want to leave my $600 Eotech just sitting in a box.
@ the more budget or low end sig optics aren’t that good. You’d be better off with something like a holosun or even the vortex sparc solar. Just upgrade the factory mounts. The sparc solar is an excellent more “budget” red dot at like 250 on primary arms with military discount. I get not wanting to leave an eotech in there, I wouldn’t put my eotech and leave it either haha.
Kind of an odd set up IMO. Not enough sustainment for a patrol rig. No plate Carrier, so it's not a direct action set up either. I'm curious as to your thought process behind putting this together.
You have valid points and I agree that he will be very thirsty and hungry. Especially if caught in a running battle trying to escape the zombies. I don't think he is carrying enough ammunition, should have ten magazines for both pistol and rifle and a good fighting knife.
You actually don’t, just put it back in the same place each time and you’re good. I’d only need to zero it again if i was to swap it to a new rifle and even then it’s a quick zero just to dial it back in.
Iv always had bags but figured a box would be useful for the kind of things that don’t really go in the main bag but are still essential in select scenarios.
Been carrying for 40 years. The only time I needed a firearm was 41 years ago. You'll never use any of this stuff forwards intended purpose. You go out shooting and take stuff out of there one at a time

@ yeah i shoot pistol right handed. Long story short but when I joined the Army my unit only had right handed holsters for my M9 so i was forced to learn and train right handed even though im left handed. (Being a broke PVT buying my own left handed holster was not an option) Works out well though, I can keep my rifle shouldered and on target but still work my handgun if absolutely necessary.
Very informative. I can see this working as a car kit "get home" if you factor in EMP maybe. But to actually bug out, there is a substantial amount missing. I get things can be sourced in the field, I want to make it clear I'm not disagreeing with anything you picked. Especially when it comes to your bang. Ounces equal pounds and pounds equal pain, so fuck that extra 6 inches of barrel on top of the reasons you listed.
With the amount of expense you have in that box, you might want to pay a few bucks more for a good harbor freight case. I get having a $20 bix that's lockable, but it's a bit thin. Us army guys do think a like, though, where socks are the most important thing in any go box.
Got any recommendations of a duty level holster for a G45 with an optic? I can't find any on safariland that are optics compatible for my Glock 45 with a red dot
@@dovahsween3378 I don’t think so. Holsters don’t usually engage with those features. I have a safariland holster for a 19 with a tlr1/x300 and I can use either a 19 or 45 grip module no issue. Can also holster multiple uppers as long as they are the 19 length even without a light on it.
I do know safariland does make one that’s optic ready. And i have a Glock MOS’s but i normally only run those in range type holsters from tulster. I do believe alien gear makes one but im not sold on their whole modular system set up. To much room for failure for something im trusting my life with.

And by the grace of God you never have to use it to defend, the prosecution will love to point out violation of federal law which would cancel any firearm insurance you have.

Bad ass box. I had a cheap sterelite for years and recently upgraded to a Husky box with wheels. Game changer for big range days.
The wheels do make a huge difference when you’re lugging around ammo and multiple rifles.

I was using this and just got the MTM tactical rifle crate. Repurposing this box for ammo storage.
Great things about these boxes is they make ammo cans that fit in like a glove.

Bougier than mine. I have an Amazon box with Walmart velcro shoes in it and a Taurus.

Shouldn’t that work with a g19 holster? It’s just the grip that’s bigger so should work with any standard safariland holster for a 19

You can swap the MRE for 2-3 Meal Replacement bars for better on the go calories AND you're missing your skittles or gummies. Definitely GTG.
I have a few meal bars in my main bag. Have tired them in real life during a field op and they actually do work.

@@alefdesign1990 not with a forward grip. You just unfortunately turned it into an SBR with forward grip either angled or stick. Stupid rule, but I would not be advertising. And by the grace of God you never have to use it to defend, the prosecution will love to point out violation of federal law which would cancel any firearm insurance you have.
